I believe that if the SNMP setting were not correct he would not get the NIC info. Did you try restarting the SNMP service on the XP workstation?

Yes, I have SNMP access and currently can monitor the interfaces, drive space ...It just will not appear as a VMWare server. I also have SNMP access to the VMs. Thanks

I am doing a similar thing. To my knoledge you really have 2 options, first is to do a site to site VPN, the second is to have enough external IP addresses at the client site (one for each monitored device) and apply NAT. Keep in mind that only SNMP v3 has security and that any none tunnelled traffic will not be encrypted…

I do this all the time. What you need to do is assign a single NATed IP address on the firewall/edge device for the device being monitored. You can not us an IP pool unless you do a PAT and only want to monitor a single device. Once the NAT is setup just add the device using the NAT IP address. Make sure that you allow…

I see that my pics did not make it in the post sorry for that. Basically there were three events in the 5 min graph that exceeded 200 each had a subsequent poll of less than 100. But I only received 1 Alert. This happened over a 30 min period of time.
