  • We are also looking for this functionality.
  • Anyone?
  • Overall I would say I'm pleased with the product. We were using it for basic statisitical tracking on our core, and now have migrated over our enitre Openview platform. What we are really lacking is custom MIB and snmp trap support. This as promised for Q105 with network service monitoring coming slightly before. We were…
  • Yeah but that is just a once every couple days sync. I need something similar to a unix client that polls every 1024 seconds or more depending on the current status.
  • Nothing solid, but my converstations with sales would lead me to expect a release coming out in a late Nov / early Dec timeframe. Like I said nothing offical though. I would be nice if they would post a tenative roadmap so people can make plans.
  • Yeah an Linux version wouldn't be bad. However despite the cost Server 2003 really has been peforming well for us. Not to mention that it would slow down the development process consideribly.
  • How about some type of grouping.. So you could group core nodes together and poll at 30 sec internvals. And Customer's together and poll every 3 minutes...
  • quote:Originally posted by trm33 I just talked to sales and they said v8 will not be out until 3rd quarter. Can we get an offical confirmation from SolarWinds on this. This this is the case...this is bad.

  • If I could say there is one real flaw with Orion and solarwinds it is a lack of defined road map with timelines. We converted over our NMS from Openview in Q304 with the expectation from Solarwinds sales that custom mib support would be beta in Q404 and production ready in Q105. It's now Q1 2006. They have deployed new…

  • How about remaping an interface to a new node, or new interface on the same node.

  • OK- So a manual DB hit. Not exactly something I feel comfortable with my NOC doing on the fly. Any word on this functionality making it into the manstream GUI. Also a bit off topic but what about a remote event viewer that is realtime?
  • Am I the only one who has had the promblem of moving circuits?
  • No acutally I am part of a Commerical network in the US. Deplopyments are moving forward, and other NMS or are supporting v6 such as Openview.
  • You can't just ignore IPv6 Seriously, any word on this?
  • Offical Word from SolarWinds....sounds like they are ontop of it. "We have seen similar issues where devices have issues with the SysUptime counter MIB. Basically the counter will be increasing (like it should) and then decrease for a value or two and then begin increasing again. The Orion software sees the decrease as a…
  • Actually.... 10/4/2004 08:37 XXXXXX.domain.net rebooted at 7/9/2004 18:53 Why is it throwing an alert for a reboot, 3 months ago... XXXXX-2611XM uptime is 12 weeks, 3 days, 1 hour, 47 minutes System returned to ROM by power-on System restarted at 18:49:08 MDT Fri Jul 9 2004 I'm opening up a ticket on this...I'll let you…
  • So I'm being punished for my stable network.... Perfect! 64 bit counters? Will that help (Cisco/Juniper)
  • quote:Originally posted by Don Yonce Andrei, SNMP Trap reception and decoding is indeed on the development plan for Orion. But .. at this time, there are quite a few items ahead of it. The SNMP Trap receiver will be implemented very similiar to SolarWinds SysLog server (which was released a few months ago). Can we get an…
  • I'm actually running quite solid with those aggressive rates accross 299 Nodes and 475 interfaces. Now I'm trying to scale those aggressive rates down to just a few core nodes, and go more lax on others as I adding more customer's into the system while we migrate away from HP Openview.
