  • Resistance is futile. Give up your fiefdoms.
  • This is great news! Now I don't have to manage two separate accounts...and it was very easy. Thank you!
  • NPM 101. I also was taking 102, but our Solarwinds server died...so I wasn't able to attend the entire class. Need to find where they are again...
  • I tried delete and got busy. Will have to look tomorrow. Luckily, nobody monitoring Solarwinds besides me right now. I intend to change that, but I need to fix a whole bunch of stuff first.
  • Nope, I take that back...those are hosts...just looked again.
  • Oh, ok...thankx...will have to look at while at home. Can't focus on the job. We have NPM, IPAM, and a couple others. I've had no time to research...but, there are fixes that need to be adjusted that are gnawing at me...
  • I will look at those Danielle...thankx. The system is already set up. I am the new network tech and walking in to an established network. But, we've had changes...new buildings, switches moved, etc. A specific problem right now is a few devices have gone red (down) on Solarwinds...I don't know why. As a new tech, I assume…
  • It's the christkg...thankx! I didn't get credit for attending a class, so I was curious and couldn't find it looking at my profile.
  • I found that, but do I 'unmanage' or 'delete'? I don't want to do any damage
  • Ahhhh...yes. I was wondering how to limit but was still concerned with maintaining important link information. That is a great idea. That also leads to another question...child and parent settings. The previous admin included important uplinks in the map for each building...which makes my overview map very colorful when…
  • Update: looking around IPAM: a previous network admin set us up with subnets of our managment subnet for each building. Every building is it's own subnet. Many of the IP's I am trying to manage in the management subnet are further subnetted. But, some are in my management subnet and some are not. Same goes for Atlas...some…
  • Very cool idea!
  • Here's a question for you guys...Groups in Atlas. Is there any benefit? Currently, we only have one group...our NEC. All other buildings are just maps. Is there a benefit to creating groups? It doesn't affect dependency, or anything else, right?
  • You guys are awesome! I have been fighting with solarwinds so much. It is so hard to find specific how to's and useful good practices like you posted here. How have you guys figured out how to do tasks and settings? I have a list of tasks I want to complete before I even get in to the architecture, etc. Thankx again.
