I am using 8.5.1 SP1 (not that it is easy to determine).

I've not tried it, but if you wanted to surpress alerts between 7pm-8pm. couldn't you structure the Time of Day settings to: Start: 8pm End: 7pm I'm assuming the clock would start at 8pm, 9..10...all the way around to Midnight, all the AMs, then stop at 7pm. The alert would kick active again an hour later. No?

Matt may very well be my new best friend. Thanks for this content exchange! I would like to see this kind of functionality rolled up into NPM as a core feature in the future. Thanks again, Matt.

Chris, looks like this was addressed a few days ago with SP1 for 8.5.1: Nope. I installed SP1 fresh on Wednesday, interactively with Solarwinds support on the phone/GoToMyPC to verify the 8.5.1 download I had included the service pack. This issue exists in SP1. While that URL is true, clicking "unmanage" does immediately…

Also tried...Site_ID Like ${Caption} No change. Doesn't work. --- Bad Filter Specified: Site_ID Like ${Caption} Incorrect syntax near ':'.

How many Reports do you have displayed in resources? In my implementation, each report on a view added 5 seconds to the loading time. In my summary view, where I had 7 different reports, it was taking upwards of 45 seconds to "display" the page. I've opened up case # 22716 on this. I'd like to see Orion poll the database…

I didn't have time to read all the responses, but one thing absent from the Advanced Alerts is the following action: "Change Custom Property"

I just posted a "Device Management History - 30 days" report to the Orion Custom Reports that shows you all device history, including managed/unmanaged status changes, and device deletions. Screenshot attached to this post. Download URL: [url=]

Support has now come back with the following response: I have also received the below from my development team. Please follow these instructions and let me know the results. 1. Open the Orion web and create such user: <server>\<user> set there <password> 2. edit the config file to change impersonate from false to true 3.…

Another thing I just noticed, using IE or Firefox, doesn't matter... The pass through isn't actually passing through. I blanked out my DOMAIN\username password in the NPM account manager and when I try to log on with the NPM login screen, it isn't taking my Active Directory credentials. It is only letting me log on with…

I'm using SSH, "SSH Auto", to be precise.

Any better help resource on filters than the "Using Node Filters" from the Admin Guide? I'm particularly looking for examples, possible variables to use, etc. For example, the Admin guide doesn't even give the Nodes.Caption as an example. I don't know where I actually learned of that value, probably from the forums - but…

Just another example that Solarwinds needs to take their entire bucket of HTML/CSS code and throw it out the window with the kitchen sink and start over and standardize on W3C XHTML 1.0. If you throw an Orion NPM front-end into a validation checker, you'll find it fails miserably. Your "Node Status" resource contains the…

I'd just be happy with the built-in "Account List" and "Lost Logged In" actually worked for me. It hasn't for several updates. Accounts that existed prior to several revisions back continue to update with the last date/time the user logged in, but any NEW accounts since that upgrade (and I forget which), always state they…

I should also mention, when you create the schedule/job, you specify the CME host. That script will run on the CME and the "ser ser 0/0 ses" (service-module service-Engine 0/0 session) command connects to the AIM-CUE, passes a valid set of credentials to log in (as you manually would), and then issues the command to kick…

Good point. I'll just go that route.

"WAN List", hence the bold reporter header (albeit, subdued) in my original screenshot. Backend screenshot included in this email.

Wow. I haven't actually heard of anyone using Dameware since the 90s. Blast from (my) past. :)

Using Firefox... The first visit to NPM creates a browser-based dialog box prompt. Once logged in, only some of the EDIT buttons are displayed (as described previously). If we use the NPM "Logout" and provide our DOMAIN\username & password in the NPM login box, once we log in...EDIT buttons are magically back.

We are working on a hotfix for the Port 80 problem. Eta?

I will second an RSS Feed system of features, but I'd like to include MORE than just alerts. I would find benefit in having RSS information available to our IT staff, who are all Blackberry users and utilize RSS applications for security updates (cisco, microsoft, etc.). I also have interest in SharePoint Users", as…

Here is a specific site I'm using to test with, and its nodes (their names): T550 - Brooklyn Park, MN (VPN appliance for the site) T550 - SW01 (first switch) T550 - SW02 (second switch) T550 - AP01 (first access point) ... T550 - AP15 (last access point) --- I have a custom property called "Site_ID" that I have "T550"…

Are you saying those OIDs, if added as Custom Pollers, end up being reported in the Orion front-end? While not absolutely ideal, because it can't be displayed with the same guage-style format all other devices are...it would still be usable.
-
I can't agree to the download agreement. Errors out: thwack.com/.../download.aspx This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. − <CustomPollers> <CustomPoller UniqueName="Chassis_Serial_Number" Description="The serial number of the chassis. This MIB…

Disregard my message above about 9, 10 and the enumerated text. I think I was being too impatient in my polling returns. After I polled again, my text replaced the numeric values. They're still both reporting "10", which they don't do when you manually walk the MIB, however.

I wasn't aware of this registry hack. Do you know of any intent to actually move this configuration setting within the main application options?
-
It stays in the 600s, sometimes peaking into the 700s, and dropping into the 500s.
-
As long as you can still change the color, I'll be good. My gradient is a customized shaded image, anyway, that I hack into the color options along with my brushed metal bar and CSS formatting, to include my "Admin icon button" each time I upgrade.

I found a work-around that has worked for us regarding the inability to unmanage/manage nodes, until Solarwinds fixes the issue. ISSUE: An unmanaged not cannot be (re)managed, the "manage" button does nothing. WORKAROUND: 1. Select 'Node Details' of an unmanaged node. 2. Click 'Manage' (nothing will happen) 3. Click 'List…

I read your full thread of your issues prior to upgrading, Debbi. It ultimately caused me to delay my upgrade, but thought those rough waters would be a bit smoother after the service pack came out. I wholeheartedly agree with you that Solarwinds needs to do a better job of informing customers when they REMOVE features…
