Can you go the the device details screen and ensure that SSH Auto is selected as your method of communication?

It appears you are attempting to backup 3 different configs as part of a single download running config command. This isn't possible today. However, you could save the output of running all the commands to a file using a job and command script. I'll add an enhancement request to allow for multiple running configs to be…

We are working through this issue now. If there are others experiencing this same issue, please speak up to help us prioritize.

The description of the CatTools program says "Free Kiwi CatTools can notify you of configuration changes via email and generate basic reports." What does this mean exactly? Is this for configuration change made by CatTools' activity script only? This is based on the ability to download a configuration and generate a…

- I try to setup a new device on the Real Netflow Analyzer for IP 10.100.12.5 (ASA outside interface) but the connection fails. When you say the connection fails, does this mean you can't ping that outside interface and therefore can't add it to Orion NPM. If so, is it really reachable from the inside network? Also, can…

Yes, NCM v5.0 RC should work fine with Orion 9.0 and NetFlow 3.0, but it's important to note that integration does NOT require that NCM be on the same machine. Would you please detail the exact setup of your Cirrus environment? I'd like to better understand why your seeing performance issues. 1) Number of nodes 2) VM: CPU?…

Engineer's Toolset 10.4 installs a Microsoft component that is responsible for the truncation of IPs in Kiwi Syslog Server. Please open a support case and we can walk you through the steps to resolve this issue.

We currently have two globally diverse sites that we are planning on using a single installation of NCM for. Currently we have an NPM installation at each site. From what I read, its possible to link both NPM installations the single NCM install. If that is possible, can we prevent the sites from being able to see/access…

Yes. Just add <Command Name="EnableCommand" Value="super"/> to your device template.

Device credentials can only be changed at the console? Like most folks, we use TACACS for most of our equipment and those accounts are independent of the Windows accounts. For security reasons, most of our users are not allowed direct NCM console access. At the same time, I don't want the NCM admins knowing the TACACS…

Which HTTP monitor type are you adding? HTTP or HTTPS?

We have VLANs doing Netflow on a Cisco 6000 switch, some of these VLANs are showing up as NETFLOW SOURCES but most are not. Why? A flow record always contains and input and output interface index. If one of these indexes maps to a monitored NTA source (must be managed in Orion), it will show up as receiving NetFlow. I did…

1) Is is possible to assign a user different access to different groups of devices. For instance if I have a user I want to grant "Engineer" level access to a set of devices and "WebViewer" access to others....is that possible? If so how? This is on our roadmap, but this isn't possible in NCM today. It's all or nothing…

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking to see "top talker" information (e.g. top protocols consuming bandwidth, top application consuming bandwidth) for your Cisco ASA5510 and are being told you cannot?

Please send me a private message. We've got a release candidate for a new version that resolves this issue.

In v4, rediscovery is only performed on a periodic basis if you have status polling / rediscovery enabled. I'd recommend upgrading to v5. With v5, we've added the ability to perform a rediscovery through inventory. With v5, you can go to File > Settings > Device Inventory and check the box for System Information. This will…

Did you remember to add those devices to the Config Backup activity?

This might be a simple fix. It doesn't appear you have an enable login password specified this device based on the session trace you posted above. Try going to your Cisco ASA device in the node list and double-click to open its device details view. Navigate to Enable Password section and verify that one is specified. Let…

Using the desktop application, select all the devices you want to change, right-click and select Edit Multiple Devices, and then change the SNMP setting.

You shouldn't need to run TFTP as a service or start it manually. When a config transfer via TFTP is initiated, NCM should automatically startup the TFTP server for the transfer.
-
Can you try downloading the running config on your devices to update the comparison cache and see what happens?

See my response to your other post:

There isn't any way to specify this level of granularity today. However, you can disable node polling without affecting NCM's core operation.
-
We're looking into this, but this is indeed a strange error. Have you ever seen this before? It appears TFTP server is experiencing file locking issues, but I'm not sure what other process would be trying to access those configurations. Do you have other jobs running at the same time that would access configurations?

System requirements can be found here: http://www.solarwinds.com/products/cirrus/sysreq.aspx

In the first version of the website, we did not enable the ability to group by Node Properties or custom properties due to possible performance concerns with expanding macros in these fields. However, we believe we have a workaround and plan to add this in 5.1.

I'm not sure how far along you got in your testing, but in theory the scenario you described should work with the following configuration: * primary_monitor_1 (threshold set to 100) is dependent on is_primary monitor_DB1 * primary_monitor_2 (threshold set to 100) is dependent on is_primary monitor_DB2 * secondary_monitor_1…

Hi tundra29. We appreciate you taking to the time to evaluate Orion NCM! If you login to the NCM client application (Start > SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Manager > Orion Network Configuration Manager), you'll be able to change this setting globally or for each of your devices individually. In the NCM client…

Nabeel, When you click on the NetFlow Traffic Analysis link in the menu bar, do you see data in the charts on the summary page? If not, have you enabled NetFlow export on your network devices? Thanks, -Chris
