You can reference the IP address of the switch (as it's configured in Cirrus) by using a node variable. In this case, ${AgentIP}. A full list is available in Admin Guide. Also, if you want to abstract out the entering of config mode, you can use ${EnterConfigMode} and Cirrus will take of getting you logged into this point.…

Orion NCM does NOT currently have a published API, but we're working towards that so stay tuned. We worked with Firepac to help us test our current APIs with a real world integration use-case. If you're interested in partnering with us for future integrations, please send me a private message so we can discuss offline.

I've never seen this error. I'd recommend opening a ticket with support. Be sure to include the steps you take leading up to seeing that error message and a link to this post.

Please contact customer.service@solarwinds.com.

Have you explored using SMS integration with NPM alerts (using Notepager)? SMS notifications can be set more obnoxiously, I think ;-)
-
wailunip, did you ever get your issue resolved? If not, let me know and we'll get someone in our sales engineering organization to help you with your evaluation.

In NCM 5, there is an import from Orion job that will allow you to one way synch from Orion NPM to NCM. It is currently not possible to do a 2 way synch.
-
Thank you for the feedback. Please see the following post for a detailed explanation of why this was changed with the addition of SNMP v3 support: We're evaluating ways of revising this selection interface to get the best of both worlds in our next release.

Can you please post the session trace and the current template you are using?

I've captured this as a feature request. For internal folks, #135. If there are others interested in this feature, please chime in to help prioritize!
-
Does it eventually display an error? If so, try restarting the Orion NCM Polling Service.
-
This isn't possible today, but it's something we're working on enhancing. Please see this post and chime in with your vote: ">

There shouldn't be any problems with this deployment approach, but you'll need to take some manual steps to import the encryption certificate for the NCM credentials. See this KB article for details: http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1121

Hi Jon, I'd recommend you contact support and have them open a ticket for this issue. Per one of our leads, it is likely that your username or password in the credential is incorrect and your have the Account Lockout Group policy object turned on (hence the account keeps getting locked out after x amount failed login…

1. I want to create a monthly overview of all the changes that are been made during the previous month. There is no option in the "config change report"-tab : you only can show changes over the past x days or select a time period between two dates. This means I cannot take this report into a schedule. That's correct. I…

How would you use a Vista gadget for ipMonitor to help you do your job? Also, can you describe what types of ipMonitor data you'd like to see in a Vista gadget and how you'd expect it to work?
-
We've got a beta version available. Please me a private message with your SW customer ID so I can validate NPM maintenance and I'll include you in the beta.
-
I would agree with the moving ipMonitor 7.5 to virtual host, taking snapshot, and then trying upgrade. Just make sure you park your license before you revert to previous snapshot.
-
Yes, if you're running 5.5.1, you can setup a job (import from Orion database) that will allow you to map NPM custom properties with NCM custom properties and merge the data.

Great suggestions. For internal folks, we are tracking this as feature request #1344. For others interested in these features, please chime in with your use-cases!
-
This is the first time we've heard this come up so I think your best bet is to open a ticket with support.
-
Thanks for the post. I've added a tracking item for this one. For internal folks, #3219
-
Please open a support ticket. We'll want to try to reproduce this in house.

Not currently, but there is already work underway on building out the infrastructure to support flow-based alerting in performance-friendly way. Can you describe exactly how you'd like to set up the alert so I can capture this use-case? For example, would you want to specify a particular source node or interface?

Testing on node servername: failed with 'Undefined' status Script output did not contain required field "Statistic:". Actual script output begins "Unable read pipe" Invalid script return code: 29 Are you using an example script that ships with APM or did you create your own? Were using NTA module (installed v3.6) and in it we have defined various multi port applications that could be thought of as a part of the whole system (for example: many different applications for telephony, which we'd like to monitor separately but also had the chance to see them together - what amount and which data(SA,…

You could enable NetFlow on one of the routers, view the amount of NetFlow packets exported (flow-export show counters), then extrapolate from there. I don't see how else you would guess. The way NetFlow worsk, all packets with the same source/destination IP address, source/destination ports, protocol interface and class…

Thanks Jeff, we pride ourselves on our customer-centric and transparent approach to delivering products. So, we definitely appreciate any/all candid feedback on what we can do better to improve. In general, we really do try to handle existing customers differently than brand new prospects. We have account managers for each…

We hear you and WMI polling support is definitely a high priority on our roadmap. However, our #1 priority for enhancing our application monitoring capabilities is to address immediate requirements for generic TCP and application port monitoring (e.g. HTTP, FTP, etc.). This means WMI polling support will likely come after…
