Cirrus requires a CLI and text-based configs. If both of these requirements are met, modifying or adding Cirrus device templates should provided the ability to manage the devices in Cirrus. I know the Nortel Secure Router family have a CLI, but I'm not sure if they have text based configs. If you can provide the CLI…

The Config tools within Toolset only work with Cisco devices. If you're looking for multi-vendor, automated device backup solution, I would recommend checking out Cirrus: http://www.solarwinds.com/products/cirrus/ Cirrus is very complementary to the real-time, tactical configuration capabilities of Toolset.

Have you ran into any specific issues with NTA displaying this data properly? Based on the fields you listed above, there shouldn't be any problem reporting since the fields match our requirements (see here)
-
This isn't possible today, but we'll consider this as a future enhancement.
-
I'm checking with dev to confirm, but I don't believe this is possible.

Go to Schedule > Create New Job > Import for Orion database.
-
Please upload a session trace and we'll take a look to see what's going on.

Currently, you would need to enter your own remediation scripts. We're exploring the addition of auto-remediation in future versions.

The v5 full release simply includes the DLLs you manually installed during the RC. You can either continue running as-is or upgrade to the recently released build.
-
If you can determine the Cisco MIBs for the status information you want, you can use the Custom SNMP Wizard to add a monitor for these statistics.
-
Please open a ticket with support. This has come up once before, but we were unable to work with the customer to troubleshoot. Please reference internal tracking number TT2713 when you submit your case and include a link to this thread.

Yes, this is certainly on our roadmap although we'll likely be more focused on config mgmt for the Cisco v1000 (www.cisco.com/.../index.html). Having said that, you might be able to accomplish this today if you're comfortable writing a script. It would require the installation of the VMware Infrastructure Remote CLI on…

I think you meant to post this in the NPM forum. NCM doesn't monitor disk volumes or CPU and memory statistics.

Welcome aboard! You can go to Devices tab and select Default SmartGroups in the tree. Check box next to Down Monitors and move to My Network group. This will now show "Down Monitors" SmartGroup in the My Network Contents on your main Dashboard. You can click the icon next to any group in My Network Contents to bring up the…

I agree, this doesn't make any sense. Please open a support ticket on this so we can investigate further.

I am trying to find exactly how the Windows Event Forwarder maps event logs to syslog severity levels. Is there any documentation on this? I have some informational messages in the Windows event log that are categorized as emergency messages on my NPM syslog server. John, I know this doesn't really answer your question,…

This is expected behavior and there is no way to change it back. We had received numerous requests to change this to a single consolidated email. Are there others out there that liked the previous behavior? If so, please chime in as I'm amenable to making this an option.

Is there a pre-requisite to use the NCM 5.0 Syslog Server? We essentially packaged the full Orion NPM Syslog Server with NCM. So the only gotcha is if Orion NPM Sylog Server is already installed on the same machine, NCM won't install its Syslog Server. And how would that impact the size of the NCM database? It depends on…

Good feedback. For internal folks, I've captured this as #3679. If others are interested in this enhancement, please chime in to help prioritize. Thanks,

Just to confirm, for the devices that don't seem to be pulling the device attributes you expect, is SNMP enabled? If so, could you provide us with a list of a few of the devices/vendors so we could investigate further. In the meantime, I'm checking with dev on this one to see if there's a workaround.
-
Yes, this is possible using a command script. ${EnterConfigMode} interface <interface name> no ip unreachables no ip redirects end ${SaveConfig}
-
It's difficult to tell based on the symptoms you provided. We'll need diagnostics to troubleshoot this one further. Please open a ticket with support (include reference to this thread) and they'll walk you through how to capture diagnostics.
-
erlend, did you ever get this working? It should just be a matter of creating a device template that issues the configUpload to transfer the config via TFTP. Let me know if you're still interested in getting this working and we can work with you on creating a template.
-
I'd recommend opening a support case for this issue so we can investigate. When opening the ticket, be sure to include details on whether this was an upgrade or a new installation. If upgrade, include what NPM/NTA version you were upgrading from.

Not really, unless you just like having the gadget on your desktop. APM 2.0 includes everything in the free Exchange Monitor and much more including alerting / reporting.

I have 9 servers being monitored with WMI, using 4 default templates (IIS, SQL, Exchange, and Orion) and one custom template for blackberry. Would you mind exporting your blackberry template and posting to content sharing zone? I'd be very interested to see it. Thanks!

The HTML/ASP monitor provides the ability to search for specific text in the returned HTML. However, if you need to send a specific XML doc with special HTTP header, your best bet is to write a script and use the External Process Monitor.

The capability to change the default SSH and Telnet ports (on a per device basis) was added in 5.5

Currently, NCM evals are only supported on Windows XP, 2003, and 2008.

If you are current, you should absolutely get access to Orion NCM at no additional cost. I would recommend contacting customer service and they should be able to straighten this out for you.
