I'd recommend opening a support ticket on this issue.

Did this problem recently start occurring? If so, has anything changed on the server recently?

In the release we're working on, we're providing the ability to define application mappings based on a port, protocol, and source/destination IP address group. So, you could have an application called WSUS that's separated out from the rest of your WWW traffic. If you're interested in participating in the beta (only…

We're actually working on a service release that addresses this requirement. Can you please send me a private email. I'd like to reach out to you when we have a build ready for testing.

The above 3 typeof devices are unable to download config. I tried the command template for proxySG800 but its not working. I'm using ProxySG510, Version SGOS 5.4.2.4 Can you please post the NCM session trace and we'll see what's going on (see the NCM FAQs post for how to do this)? I'd recommend reviewing the NCM Admin…

We're actually working on exactly such a calculator (albeit not for online). Would you be willing to have a short call to run through this and see if it's output is realistic for your environment?

You can use the Log Forwarder for Windows included with Kiwi Syslog Server to forward Windows Events related to Active Directory to Kiwi Syslog Server. This will get you some health information. However, if you want to monitor Microsoft AD more comprehensively, I'd recommend checking out either ipMonitor (if you're…

StealthNet, if you want to keep all your existing NCM data, you can simply install the production bits you downloaded from the customer portal over your evaluation version. To obtain your product key in the offline case, please take the following steps: 1) Click "Skip this, and enter Software License Key now" 2) Copy the…

Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be one we can easily diagnose in the forum and will require reproduction. Your best bet is to open a support ticket on this one. I'll let the folks in support know it's coming...

There isn't a wait variable. What happens if you enter new lines?

Do you have Orion NPM installed? If so, I would recommend installing the NCM integration module on your Orion NPM sever. This will allow you both performance and config management data in the same console to help with troubleshooting issues. Additionally, Orion NPM's website provides more granular control over which user…

In NCM (via NPM integration module) I am attempting to save a script via the Configuration Management >> Execute a Script menu and I am getting the following error... Access to the path 'D:\Domain\SolarWinds\Orion\NCM\1cde7fff-6d27-4d09-8cbf-fba7a97e85e4.txt' is denied. When I go to my NCM server the…

Can you post the session trace?

When you reinstalled CatTools on the new server, did you install the same version you had on your old server? Also, please post any error messages you see in View > Info Log.

I have mentioned this before but I have some detail after thinking about it a little more deeply. What I would like to see is a forensic view where I can get collapsed node or client detail . By that I mean instead of a top xx screen I can see all flows for a node or see all conversations a client was involved in either by…

If your APC SMART-UPS devices provide a CLI that can be accessed via Telnet or SSH, then possibly. There is a technical reference here that describes how to extend Cirrus device support:

Have you tried using the Log Forwarder for Windows. It's available in the additional component section of your portal and replaces the old Windows Event Forwarder. We've actually got a new version in RC. If you're interested in testing that version, please send me a private message.

This isn't possible today. I've added this for consideration in a future release. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #2984

Can you explain exactly what you're trying to accomplish with the * in the device template?
-
Can you ensure that you're using the same templates as you were in 3.1? If you could post a session trace, we can diagnose further. (File > Settings > Session Trace > Turn on session tracing)

It means it's an empty group with no child objects (devices, monitors, or another group).

Were the nodes showing up properly before? If so, was anything changed / installed / upgraded since you last viewed the node list?
-
Checked with dev and this is possible, but you'll have to modify the values used by that macro in the database. Edit the Websites table in the database and change the SSLEnabled and Port columns as appropriate.

We're glad to have you on board! To be completely honest, we haven't made a decision on Secure Tunnel. We're considering a variety of options right now so we'll have to get back to you on this one. If there are other Kiwi Syslog customers using it in combination with Secure Tunnel, we'd really like to hear about your…

Just to clarify, you have 4 separate Orion servers (each with their own database instance) and then a 5th system dedicated to running the DB server?? If that's correct, then yes, you would most certainly see better performance by having a separate DB server dedicated per Orion + NTA server. You might also look at enabling…

1. Output the reports in Alphabetical or by IP address. Currently the report comes out in an unsorted list of nodes in the device group. Can you post an example? 2. Be able to generate a compliancy % or counts.. example, I run 10 rules for compliancy, but only get the critical/warning/info colored icons across each report…

NCM currently requires IP addresses in the seed file.

What version of Orion NPM, NTA, and NCM are you running? Can you find out how many flows per second (FPS) you are receiving on the NetFlow side of things? This module typically puts a fair share of load on the DB server. To get flows per second, you'll need to run Windows perfmon and add the NetFlow counter called PDU Per…

One way of doing this is to use the node selection criteria in the job. You can add filtering criteria (e.g. select only nodes with OS = X, select only nodes with custom property = Y, etc.). In the future, you'll be able to add this logic criteria to your change template
