One way to do this is to use the "Run Executable Job". You can run a .bat file in Windows to do an xcopy of files within a directory.

It sounds like you have the old file-based integration resource. This would have been something you downloaded from the additional components section of the support website. This is not supported and should not be used anymore. When you say you installed the "integration piece", can you confirm that you installed the…

In NetFlow Node Detail report, what does the Node Interfaces data represents? When I select an Absolute Time Period, mine always appears to be the same as my current traffic. I would think it should show me the average for the time period of my report. Can you provide the exact steps you took to see this issue? And last by…

I think your best bet is to create a support ticket on this one so we can try to reproduce in-house.

From devices details, what happens when you select Actions > Validate SNMP Credentials?
-
If you are seeing "---More---" within your configurations, then most likely the commands referenced within the device template for the Reset command are either not correct or not complete. You can either modify the template or simply add <-- More --> to your comparison criteria.

Yes, go to Configuration tab > Scheduled Maintenance Tasks and edit Recurring Internal Maintenance. You'll see settings there for log rollover settings.
-
Telnet should work fine. Can you post your session trace? 1. File > Settings > Session Tracing > Turn on session tracing 2. Attempt download 3. Session trace created here: <install directory>\Configuration Management\Session-Trace

There's nothing planned at the moment, but this is a good feature request. Have you tried using the NOC view for your large displays? It probably isn't as visually pleasing as the weathermap concept, but it is very functional to ensuring that you can quickly see at a glance if there's anything wrong with your network.

Thanks for the post. As we further integrate NCM with NPM in the next release, you can count on this being one of the items up for consideration. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3216.

After running the report in the NCM desktop application, you can click on the Modify button to customize the report. On the select fields tab, you can choose grouping options. HTH

If you reinstall the software on the same machine, it will not reset the evaluation period. Please contact SolarWinds sales and they should be able to help you with moving forward with your evaluation. Phone: 866.530.8100 Fax: 512.857.0125 Email: sales@solarwinds.com

I'm not sure why you mean. SNMP community string should still be selectable by right-clicking in the node tree and choosing Select Fields and Grouping and selecting "Community String"?
-
Simon, since you're starting this SmartGroup with "No Monitors", you should only have to add the Ping monitors to the SmartGroup to have the desired effect (versus using a "remove" clause).
-
Over time, that is definitely the plan. To help us prioritize our efforts, it would be helpful to know which Kiwi Syslog features you'd really like to see in Orion and vice-versa.
-
You'll need to go to the NCM client application (on your NCM server). If you select a device in the tree and edit its device details, you will see a Communication section. You'll see a list of transfer options for executing scripts and transferring configs (Telnet, SSH Auto, etc.). If you want to set this globally, leave…

1. Yes, this process occurs once during upgrade to map monitors to devices 2. Yes 3. No, this process is a required part of the upgrade from 8.5 to 9.0
-
This would require communication with the device via the serial port. Currently, we support SSH, Telnet, TFTP, and SNMP/TFTP (for Cisco devices).
-
ipMonitor does not have any kind of built-in or automatic failover mode. If this is something you've got to have, you might want to look at Orion, which includes a hot standby engine and additional pollers.

Do the other inventory reports work for you in the web console?
-
Where are you seeing that message? That should only appear if you are trying to view an NCM integration module view from the Orion website and it can't access the NCM server. I'd recommend opening a ticket with support (include reference to this post) so they can work with you to troubleshoot further.
-
Are you managing the interfaces exporting NetFlow data in Orion NPM? This is required to add these interfaces as monitored NetFlow sources in NTA.

Entering a command to enter CLI mode after login is not currently supported by Cirrus, but we have a fix currently in development. If you would please submit a support ticket, we'd like very much to work with you to test this capability with your HP switch. Please ask the tech to assign your support case to TT#1109.

I was able to reproduce as well. Please open a support ticket (and include link to this thread) so we can start exploring our options to resolve this issue.

There were some known issues with the synch job in 5.1. I would upgrade to 5.5.1
-
The configuration change report is based on a comparison of the downloaded configs. The user who made the change is not tracked in the configs, so it's not possible to tell who changed based on the configs alone. I think what you're looking for is Realtime Change Detection. You'll need to setup Syslog from your routers and…

Good news! In NCM 5.5, we've added the ability to optionally send config changes in a separate email from the job details. See release notes for a complete list of enhancements in 5.5: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/orionNCM/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm

Can you post your current edited device command template? I'd like to know what you've tried thus far and we'll work on getting you up and running.
-
We appreciate the feedback! Is this is a recurring process that you need to accommodate or is this a one-time import? Also, what other details are you trying to import?
-
Yes, the system must be SNMP accessible for NCM to pull back the system information on that switch (and the correct SNMP community strings must be configured on the NCM device details). Once you've confirmed the SNMP credentials for the routers/switches showing up with only IP addresses, you can go to the device details…
