Unfortunately, this isn't an out of the box report. However, I asked dev and they provided me the SQL query below which can be used to retrieve this info. NOTE: We cannot guarantee that this query will work on subsequent upgrades due to internal schema changes. HTH, -Chris ============= SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT…

Do you have SNMP enabled on these devices? If not, our discovery scans cannot pull back system properties that would be used in that group by property resource. You can also populate/override these attributes manually by editing a device and setting Property Refresh Policy to "keep old values to rescan".

1, Can the Syslog message received from Kiwi Syslog Server displayed in the Orion web console? Yes. Use the Forward to another system action and set the Orion server as the target IP. Its Syslog server will pick up the Syslog and write it to the Orion database making it visible in the Orion website. 2, Is the alert method…

Yes it does, but you'll need to contact sales to get a quote.

Did your run through the "Startup Settings" portion of the wizard? If so, then it will automatically run and config backup and inventory job across all your nodes, which could be the reason for the CPU spike. Can you open up Task Manager and see which specific process(es) are consuming the 60% CPU?
-
Robert, so can you clarify the use-case your trying to solve? Are you asking for the ability to bulk create templates based on some sort of input doc?

Another customer ran into a similar issue. Currently, the only workaround is to stop snmpd, dismount the remote mount, and then start snmpd.

Is there a way to search all of my devices for a specific serial number? I realize I can use the inventory "Physical Entities" report, but it displays way more information than necessary. This isn't possible now, but good enhancement request. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3217.

I'm not familiar with this issue and it sounds like something too complex to diagnose in the forum. Your best bet is to open a support ticket on this one and we'll get to the bottom of it. If others are experiencing similar issues, please let me know.

You will need to contact customer service.

We expect parallel script runs to be possible in the next release. Current workaround is to schedule multiple jobs.
-
With the current Orion Trap Server variables, you can pass either ${DNS} for fully qualified domain name or ${IP_Address} to pass IP address.

Go to Devices tab. Select SmartGroups > Disabled Monitors. Think of SmartGroups as groups whose contents are based on a filter. You can leverage the default SmartGroups provided or you can create your own. For example, to create a SmartGroup that contains "All Monitors". Perform the following steps: * Navigate to folder in…

Just FYI, you can still access the shortcuts for all tools in v9 through the Start Menu > All Programs > SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset. This hasn't changed from v8 to v9. If you are concerned about memory usage, you can always stop the Toolset Launchpad. Simply right-click on the system tray icon and uncheck "Start Toolset…

Do you know if you had an NTA eval or older version of NTA on this machine before?
-
Is there a way to set a pause or wait for certain text (such as 'All software images installed.') before continuing on in the script? Not currently, but I'll add this as an enhancement request. One possible workaround is to run the first part of the script and check the logs to ensure that all operations have succeeded.…

Now I tried to access orion from another computer and tried to use Toolset Tools to ping or telnet, whatever..it gives me that toolset is not installed and you have to download it from the internet, How to use Toolset from far machine that I know to use Orion webconsole but I cant use the toolset tools,, This is not going…

Hi Craig, thanks for the suggestions...I've added these to list for consideration in the next version. Just FYI, we've got a busy 2007 planned for Toolset. We're working on solidifying the details of our mid-year v9 release now and are also planning to have a year-end release. I've created a new thread to help us keep…

We're actually working on rate-based charts right now. See this post: If you're interested in a preview demo, please send me a private message. Cheers,

If you can post your "in progress" device template and a session trace of the current download config results, I'm happy to work with you to see if we can get it working with your device.
-
You have a valid gripe. I'll follow-up with dev and see if they can look into documenting exactly what is and isn't supported using the comparison criteria regex engine. This engine is different than the one used in the Policy Reporter application so it's certainly worth noting the differences. I can't guarantee anything…

I'll let Brandon answer on the Orion NPM side, but upgrading from Cirrus v4.x to NCM 5.5.1 is supported.
-
NCM and NPM currently do not share the same node database, but we're working on integrating these products closer together with each release. In the interim, I'd suggest discovering/adding new devices to NPM first. Then, you can use the NCM synchronization job (Schedule > Create New Job > Import Devices from Orion…

Not today. The workaround for this would be to create a local Windows account on the NCM server and use this for authentication instead.

Is this a multi-processor system? I did some Googling and found this: http://www.smartertools.com Hope this helps!
-
I've not seen this before. Please open a support ticket so we can investigate further.

vbowers, Just to clarify your last post regarding Toolset being available from Orion web pages. Do you only have the Toolset installed on the Orion server? The reason I ask is that if Toolset is installed locally on the laptop you are viewing the Orion web page from, you should be able to launch your local Toolset…

When you reset your baselines, did you follow this by doing a config download on each of your devices? To ensure performance, we have a diff cache that gets updated on config download.
-
One workaround since you have Orion NPM is to install the NCM 5.5 integration module on your NPM server. The NCM 5.5 integration module now includes support for all the capabilities previously only available through the standalone NCM website, including config management operations (upload, download, execute script),…

Not currently, but this is definitely on our roadmap.
