Sorry, scratch that. I just realized that you're trying to write a command script. It will need to be something like this: copy tftp://[ip address of tftp server]/${NodeCaption}.txt run NOTE: If you want to run the scripts in parallel (MUST FASTER), you should run it from a job. If you run it manually (right-click tree >…

We're really happy you liked it. Please keep the great feedback coming and we'll continue listening! For those who haven't seen NCM 5.5.2, we've added the ability to show a configurable number of lines before and after a config change in website, reports, and notifications. Cheers, -NCM Product Team

In 3.7, you can configure a bandwidth utilization alert that includes Top Talker details. The ability to trigger on Top Talkers specifically is something high on our list of enhancements.

I see in the long term enhancements BGP AS Aware Netflow what about the full features of flow-aggregation and aggregration by prefix/source-dst/AS hte whole suite of options from the ip flow-aggregation command line. It would be invaluable when doing load sharing on dual attached ISP's and figuring out route-maps and…

We hear you. NCM 5.1 resolves this issue by allowing update of version number in the website footer by upgrades and SPs.

I'm trying to build applications for my traffic. Examples include Exchange, which often is between two high ports, so I need to filter on destination or source of my Exchange servers. O can't seem to build applications with multiple expressions. I want to categorize http traffic on-net from that offnet. So I want to see…

Please contact customer service so we can track this issue and get this resolved for you.

We can limit user access to certain IP subnet ranges, however those IP ranges are based on the IPs of NetFlow sources(Nodes). How about the ability to limit access based on endpoint subnets? Example: Marketing: 10.2.0.0/24 Sales: 10.4.0.0/24 Accounting: 10.6.0.0/24 So the sales manager could log into NTA and see info on…

Would love to see a world map with known locations of IPs that are not private shown. Raffael Marty discusses this in his book applied security visualization. http://raffy.ch/blog/ You could make the dots larger or smaller based on amount of traffic associated with each. Top XX would be very useful and having Google Maps…

We're glad you're loving NTA. Hopefully there will be more to love very soon with the NTA 3.6 release. It includes the ability to see percent utilization on top talker graphs. Here's what's coming in that version:
-
juan and dave, please send me an email and I'll send you a direct link to the download.
-
Have you tried creating a custom report with the interfaces included to see if this allows for filtering?

Can the new NCM be installed as a stand alone product similar to Cirrus? With Cirrus I was able to install in on a server separate from my ORION NPM server. It can still be installed standalone on a separate server from NPM. There are 2 components to NCM (Cirrus): 1. NCM server - desktop application, information service,…

I think one thing most users (definitely myself) would be interested in is how security (ie: roles/permissions) is delegated. How flexible it is. The online demo doesn't allow you in to look at things, and there isn't much explanation on the website beyond a screen capture that looks promising. Will you be publishing…

For those that are experiencing these types of issues, I urge you to submit a ticket with support. The Cirrus team absolutely wants to get to the bottom of this strange job scheduling phenomena with config backups, but we really need your help in troubleshooting as we're not able to reproduce in house. Once we have some…

Do you know if this will be in the next release? This is a must have for me requested awhile ago and many others have this issue as well. Does this Orion Product Blog post help you out at all?

Please see this thread

We've upgraded to the latest versions of the our SSH/Telnet control in 5.1. We're hopeful this newer control eliminates most if not all of these types of errors. I believe I've sent both of you have copies of the 5.1 beta. If you get a chance to test it, please let us know if this has had any positive impact.
-
If you're interested in a preview demo, I can show them to you now. We'll be looking at a beta early next year.

Chris, I'm curious why a feature to search for an IP endpoint search would be in NCM and not in IPAM or NPM since those 2 products already have searches based on IP built into them? It seems to me that IPAM would be the ideal place for this. Maybe even a new custom column The ability to determine which switch port a…

Yes, that's correct, you'll need both NPM and NCM. Topology support is being built into the Orion "core", which is currently only included with Orion NPM. Eventually (much longer-term), we'll be able to deliver this in standalone NCM as well. We can give exact timeframes, but as we get closer to beta, I can definitely…

This post was only intended to convey what we're working on right now. More/better node management integration is certainly on the roadmap, but it's lower priority than the items listed above. I'm tired of getting beat up about not being able to replace CiscoWorks entirely due to lack of "User Tracking" capabilities ;-)
-
Just FYI, I remember hearing that 1-5% of switched traffic is used for flow export to collection server. You'll want to confirm though with other sources. Any existing customers want to chime in here?
-
For those experiencing this issue, please open a support ticket. The More prompt shouldn't be included in the configs.
-
How did you determine that the file is being saved as the name ${StorageAddress} if NCM errors out? Can you attach the NCM session trace and we'll see if we can figure out what's going on?
-
Have you upgraded to NPM 10.1? In 10.1, we updated this field to be read/write.
-
Just to piggyback on what Martin stated, on #2, this is something we've got high on our list but we don't have any timeframes at this point. I'll make sure to add you to the list of requesters to help prioritize this effort.
-
That's great Jon. Did you modify the password in the Security > Credentials Manager to affect the credential(s) for all assigned monitors?
-
Can you try this.... “Add” >“New Device” from the Devices tab and provide the ip Address, Credentials etc. It will tell you that found “Existing Device”. Click on “Re-Scan Device” This almost always corrects this issue.

rcahill, thanks for the feedback. I think you'll be happy where we're headed with v5 and the new web interface. The new website will provide the ability to be configured on a different port than your other web applications. Reporting improvements are definitely on our roadmap.
