Right, that makes sense. I don't have Orion integration installed on my laptop so that's why I wasn't seeing that process.
-
If I open a browser and go directly to the NCM website it works. What exact string did you specify for the website URL field in Admin > NCM connection settings? If this is not specified as the full URL (e.g., http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8888/) it may not work.

Would you mind posting your template to the content sharing zone for Cirrus device templates? Thanks much!
-
Let me check with dev and get back to you.
-
Ok, I think I understand why you're seeing the difference between 3/1 and 3/12. See this post for how NTA data compression works and how you can change these default settings depending on your specific requirements.
-
Hmmm...I don't see any issues there either. Can you open a ticket with support and include a reference to this thread? I'd like for our dev team to investigate this further. It doesn't make sense that we're discarding the config when everything seems to be fine.
-
We can definitely keep this on the radar, but to be honest this is the first time I've heard this request. Are there any others out there that would find this feature valuable? Is so, please chime in so we can prioritize this appropriately.
-
That's okay. Please call or email customer service and they will help you move your Toolset license from your Orion server to your local desktop.
-
Ok, I see what you mean. This is a good suggestion. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #2982. If there are others out there interested in this capability, please chime in to help us prioritize.
-
Thanks for that. One thing to note is that Cirrus will attempt to execute all commands in the "Value" field in series and won't pause to wait for a particular command to complete. Here's what I would suggest as far as changes: 1. Change Download Config back to the original format 2. Change EnterConfigMode Value="config…
-
That's good news. Let us know if you see this again because we'd definitely want to address if its really a Cirrus issue.
-
Thanks, we appreciate the feedback.
-
No, but if you attempt to re-scan, you'll need to start up the service again.
-
If you haven't got this resolved already through support, what specific issues are you running into?
-
I think there was obviously some confusion on the support side as what you were requesting. I think they heard RegEx and assumed you needed help writing regular expressions. Can you send me your case # and I'll follow up to ensure they're clear on this issue?
-
You would have to keep the monitor running (i.e. don't put it in maintenance mode). Then, create an Alert, specify email as an Alert Action, and leverage Availability setting to configure the Alert to be active or disabled for different periods of the day. Finally, unselect notifications on failure and select only the…

Have you looked at Network Atlas (available from Start Menu on Orion Server). It provides you with the ability to upload any background you like (e.g. buildings) and drag nodes to show status on your custom map. Also, you might check out this post on how to integrate Google Maps.
-
I agree this is a great idea. We're looking at this for a future release. Please see this post for what we've got cooking after 3.6 (currently in RC, will release soon).

Hi bleearg13, as you noted ("while some of shortcomings I mentioned are resolved in NCM"), we're continuously innovating and improving NCM. And, we're absolutely committed to resolving your current issues to hopefully get you completely drop RANCID! ;-) We're not sure that your current issues have to do with SSH, but in…
-
Mike, please submit a ticket to support so we can track this properly and gather the appropriate log files to diagnose. We're absolutely committed to getting RTCD working for you again.
-
If you check the "Additional Components - Orion v8 and v9" section of your customer portal, you should see the new Log Forwarder for Windows. This was developed by the Kiwi Syslog team and replaces the old Windows Event Forwarder. It is available at no cost to Orion NPM and Kiwi Syslog customers current on maintenance. The…

Thanks for the feedback. We'll definitely look at posting additional script samples. If you have any that you're able to share, please do ;-)
-
Thanks for posting. I checked with our dev team and there was an issue with SSH/TFTP transfer combination on menu-based devices (Telnet/TFTP works fine). We've fixed this in 5.0 and this release should be coming out soon. We'd love for you to test this build to verify it fixes your issue. If you're willing, please sign-up…

No worries, anytime.

How long did you leave Node Monitoring turned on for? By default, Node Monitoring will poll status every 2 minutes and perform node rediscovery every 60 minutes. You can change this setting by going to File > Settings > Node Monitoring.
-
Currently, the node monitoring feature does both status polling and system discovery. You're right though, we need to eventually separate these or better yet allow Inventory Jobs to update system information (so you can control update frequency). Let me know your thoughts on your preference. We've got a feature request…

Support should be able to open a ticket for you and escalate to development if necessary. HP support is absolutely important to us and we do have customers backing up HP switches successfully using telnet transfers. Can you try downloading with config transfer method set to Telnet? We have found that SSH transfers will…

If you're a registered user, we plan on having the beta available from the Kiwi support portal soon. If you're a free tool user, you'll need to wait until this is generally available. I'll check into the registration. This should be cookied so that you only have to register once. This might not be working from the…
-
Thanks for that. I'll look into this to see where this stands in dev. Wrt/ auto-synch from Orion to Cirrus, we're definitely planning on providing some control over the import and merge process (e.g. triggering off of a custom property). I'll keep you in the loop once we get close to final design so we can vet our approach…

NPM and NCM can share the same SQL database server or they can be deployed on completely separate SQL servers. It's really up to you. When installed on the same SQL database server, each app will still install their own database.
