Can you let me know what the roadmap is for IPmonitor? We're actually in the planning stages for the next release so if you have enhancement requests, we'd love to hear them. At a high-level, you can expect to see more monitors and more built-in best practices on what/how to monitor your infrastructure. Is this a product…

If you are comfortable downloading configurations via Telnet, then we can help you create the template. If you require SSH, you'll need to wait until 5.1 is available due to the Ironport's requirement for keyboard interactive login on SSH sessions. Let us know if Telnet is an option and we can take it from there.

Ok, thought it was worth asking. I don't see why that action wouldn't be firing. Can you try my suggestion of adding the log to file action on that rule to see if it's even firing? If it isn't firing, perhaps there's an issue with the OID matching.

NPM 9.1 was the last release that supported SQL 2000. This would require you to stay on NTA 3.1. NTA 3.5 only supports SQL 2005 or SQL 2008. I'd recommend looking at what it would take to move away from SQL 2000 as soon as possible. Otherwise, you'll also miss out on the features of NTA 3.6 which is currently in dev.

Are you able to start the Orion NCM Information Service?
-
Good news! We're looking at implementing both (see sneak preview below). You'll be able to configure this for each Action separately.
-
Kiwi Syslog provides both options. I think that's the way we're going to go in Orion Syslog as well.

I now have to go into the group first, then add existing monitors using a filter. You can use can create a SmartGroup to create a group that adds monitors based on a filter. The problem is that this is a dynamic assignment so doesn't really get you want in this specific instance where reboot changes the attribute. We're…

The NCM location that specified there just needs to be an IP address for communication with the NCM Information Service running on the NCM server. That NCM location IP doesn't relate to the ports used for the websites.

Thanks for the post. We're glad to hear your upgrade went well. Wrt/ Orion NPM 9.0 SP2 and NCM integration issue, this has been resolved. Please go to your customer support portal and redownload the NCM 5.0 bits. You will notice that there is a readme that describes the newer version of the NCM integration module installer…

1. Everytime I click on Network Configuration Manager link on the Orion web site I get prompted for login. I select 'Windows Account' and click on remember settings. But everything I do this I get prompted. I just want to get passed thru after the 1st time. Any ideas? By prompted, do you mean you have to click the "login"…

I've confirmed with dev that the NCM installer logic is as follows: * When Orion NPM is already installed on the machine and the Syslog service running we do not install NCM Syslog service. * When Orion NPM is already installed on the machine but the Syslog service is not running – we install NCM Syslog service. So, we…

Donald, thanks for the heads-up. This shouldn't be the case, so we'll definitely look it this ASAP and rectify.
-
When you get that error, it's likely because you have a missing > or /> or " or there's an extra character somewhere in the template. Try editing in notepad to ensure that your editor isn't throwing special formatting characters into the file. Actually, if you wouldn't mind, just attach your updated template to your post…

Real-time change notifications should work on Windows 2008. You'll just have to be sure the Windows account used to run Syslog or Trap server (depending on which one you use as a config change trigger) has read-write access to the NCM DB. See “Enabling Realtime Configuration Change Detection” in the Admin Guide. Having…

Can you explain what problem you're trying to solve by getting into this level of detail? I'm hoping we can answer your underlying question more directly.

Do you have a set of commands that we need to configure in huawei device so that we can monitor its traffic to NTA? We try to add a huawei device but unfortunately we don't see any traffic. see www.h3c.com/.../

That's great that my first feature request is on the roadmap at least. Now the next question... ETA? "We're working on it" isn't good enough for ya? ;-) I can't speak to exact timeframes, but we're working on a tightly scoped release to ensure this happens as soon as possible. And one last question.. What's the possibility…

I would try restarting the ipMonitorSrv service and then when visiting the web page, hitting Ctrl-F5 to force browser refresh. Let me know if this works.
-
jp, glad this fixed your issue. We'll look at adding the new table column. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3226

Right, the NCM integration module that's currently available is intended as a step in that general direction. The next step is to allow the NCM integration module to ship with the just the pieces of Orion "Core" it needs (e.g. website, syslog, traps, alerts, report writer, etc.) without requiring the customer to buy NPM.…

@rt, glad you were able to get those devices working. Would mind posting your modified device command templates to the content sharing zone so they can be leveraged by other community members? http://thwack.com/files/folders/cirrus_device_templates/default.aspx Also, just in case you haven't seen the technical reference on…

Cirrus 4.0.1 (released Dec 2007) should work fine on Windows 2003 64-bit. If you discover any issues, please open a support ticket as we will definitely want to fix them.
-
It will be very difficult to diagnose without a session trace, but I suspect it is a prompt issue that may require creation/modification of an existing device command template. To enable session tracing in Cirrus, go to File > Settings > Session Tracing. You can find the session trace for your device in <install…

Always great to hear that! I'd love to hear any additional feedback you have around the new Dashboard or the dynamic groups.
-
Good news on this front! We are extremely close to wrapping up QA acceptance and going into RC. Stay tuned for the invite!

When you install the Engineer's Toolset evaluation, you will have access to all the tools for 30 days. Based on your needs, I would recommend using the Network Performance Monitor Tool for your tactical network performance monitoring needs. Additionally, if you have Cisco routers, you can enable Cisco NetFlow on those…

Most customers who use both will use Kiwi Syslog for the distributed Syslog use-case. These customers have setup multiple Kiwi Syslog Server distributed throughout their environment and forward only the pertinent Syslog messages to the Orion Syslog Server. If you disable the Orion Syslog server, you will not be able to see…
-
You might try putting the lines you want to upload and add the "end" statement to see if that results in the same behavior.
-
Have you added that router's interface to Orion NPM? If it's not managed by Orion NPM, you're not going to be able to monitor it as a NetFlow source.
