For those of you still experiencing this issue, please try adding the following lines to your comparison exclusion criteria. LOL, thanks for the clarification. I'm going to include that screen shot in the enhancement request ;-)

You can download a free trap generator from here: http://www.ncomtech.com/downloads/windows/trapgen28.zip I would try installing on a different machine and then send traps to your Orion NCM server.

Great news! The ability to access Trap variable binding values as macros (e.g. ${vbData1}) is in plan for the next release. In addition, we're also adding the ability to do basic/regex pattern matching on the TrapDetails portion of the trap message (versus having to specify the exact varbind OID). If there are others…

Sorry, I should have clarified. I need an Orion NCM session trace. See this post for how to set this up for troubleshooting.

If you're on active maintenance for either Orion or Kiwi Syslog, you are absolutely entitled to support on the Log Forwarder component. I'm really sorry about the confusion. Did you download the Log Forwarder component from your customer portal? I ask because I'm wondering if you've been installing the evaluation version…

Yes, if you can access the device with a CLI, you'll need to edit the device template being used for the device and add something like the following (you can reference the Cisco IOS template for an example): <Command Name="DownloadConfigIndirect" Value="copy ${ConfigType}…

Actually, with NPM 10.0 and NCM 6.0 (currently in RC), you'll be able to use its "User Tracking" feature to search for an IP and find it's connected switch port and MAC address. There's also a discovered links report which will give you the same for all discovered L2 connections between managed devices. Time to upgrade? ;-)

Sorry about that. We'll get that fixed in the doc. Here's how RTCD operates with v5: * Syslog message comes into Syslog * ConfiogAutoDownload.exe is run with IP address parameter * ConfigAutoDownload check this IP in Nodes table – this table contains NCM managed nodes. * In case IP exist in Nodes table, the process runs as…

Thanks for understanding. We're actually continuing to explore enterprise log management as well (though separately from Kiwi Syslog). We'd love to understand your specific requirements for log management. For example: 1. What log sources would you need to collect log management data from to meet your requirements? 2.…

If you go to File > Settings > Config Archive, you'll see the following default setting: ${NodeGroup}\${Caption}\${Date}\${Caption}-${ConfigType}.Config You could actually leave this as the default. Then, select the nodes that belong to DC1 in the device tree, select edit, and change node group to "DC1". Perform the same…

Appreciate you Chris for your promt reply. Well I would suggest if we can have a call to discuss these features. Let me know if that's ok. I'd be happy to have a call. I'll send you a private message to set this up. We have a couple of customers who are interested in the proposed features and once we have these features in…

This should be possible today through the Orion website using node limitations and account view limitations. In fact, we've got a lot of MSPs using Orion in this way. Have you already explored using Orion's included website for this purpose? If so, what specific use-cases are you not able to achieve? I just want to make…

Can you run a netstat from the command line to see if anything else is using port 17777? Also, do you have a Windows Firewall or Symantec Endpoint Protection installed that might be blocking this service from starting?

I believe both NTA and the realtime NetFlow tool in Toolset work the same way. Let me check with dev to see if there's a way to manually add the interfaces. The only problem I see with this approach is what happens when the device gets rebooted during the course of normal maintenance and the interfaces get indexed. You'll…

Try changing your pattern match to be RegEx and then use "\t529\t". The regular string-based pattern matches don't accept special characters. For more details, see the help contained in the product or the online help available here: www.kiwisyslog.com/.../filters_reg_exp.htm

That's correct. NPM requires the NCM integration module to be installed to enable the EW configuration management capabilities. Can you please open a support ticket and include the steps you listed above to reproduce? Also, include a link back to this thread. I'd like to see if we can reproduce in house. Thanks,
-
Thanks guys for the posts and for creating a ticket. We're tracking this internally and we're going to try to fix this in 5.1.
-
Thanks for the response. Will the new licensing system be incorporated into the Orion product line and modules with the next release of Orion? I presume that is where your heading, just curious. I definately like the idea of prepending the computer name on the license file names and I would suggest adding what the license…

The default device command templates for the Cisco PIX devices and Catalyst devices already include the "no pager" and "set length 0" respectively as a Reset command that gets run before downloading of configuration. b-moore, you're best bet is to submit a ticket to support on on this one. They'll work with you to get a…

For those experiencing slowness issues with 4.x or earlier, try disabling node monitoring to see if that resolves your issue. For those experiencing slowness issues with 5.1, please open a support ticket on these items and include a link to this thread. We have a fix slated for 5.1.1 that may resolve your issue and we may…

Thanks Ciag. I've got these. For internal folks, these are being tracked as #4024.

Thanks, this helps a lot. I'll update the TT. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #4024
-
Please open a support ticket so we can grab diagnostics and investigate.
-
It's still on the list and we'll continue to consider it, but we'll need more requests to help prioritize above other items.

Rene, Definitely no need to uninstall/reinstall. Please perform the following steps: 1. Download and install latest version of License Manager utility from your customer portal 2. Launch License Manager and you should see your current IPAM license 3. Click upgrade/activate and enter in your new activation key If you have…

Can you help me understand the driver for this feature? Is this so you can do a sanity check yourself via email to see what someone might have changed? Or is this so you can have the entire config available in your email so that you can reference it remotely? The reason I ask is we've got a thread going on remote…

When you ran the repair on Orion NCM Integration plug-in (from control panel > add/remove programs), did you run through the Orion Config Wizard with database and website selected?
-
Encrypted only applies to the database. You must set them to hidden to keep them from displaying in the interfaces.
-
What version of NCM are you running? Also, can you try disabling node monitoring in the NCM Win32 interface to see if that helps (File > Settings > Node Monitoring)?
