Have you already opened a support case on this item?

That's on the radar, but we haven't gotten a lot of requests for this. I've created new thread to see what folks think.

Hi Micky, Please send me a private message with your SolarWinds customer ID so I can verify maintenance and I'll add you to the beta list. Thanks, -Chris

That's definitely on the list. Hopefully, #4 helps in this regard in the short-term. For the long-term, we're exploring the idea of caching to the file system versus to DB to completely avoid the DB = "rented mule" syndrome ;-)

Couple rules of thumb for this particular chart: 1) Set granularity to map up to your download schedule (e.g. weekly downloads, set granularity to weekly) 2) Ensure that you have at least 2 data points for your chosen granularity. Otherwise, you won't see an area graph.

I agree, this sounds like a bug. Please open a support ticket so we can ensure this is tracked and we can have dev investigate.

Did you recently move your config Archive folder to a network share with 5.1? I don't believe config archive works with network shares right now.
-
That's really strange. Can you confirm that the devices have been added to both systems with the same IP address? If so, I would go ahead and open a support ticket on this one. I'd like to get to the bottom of this one and ideally fix in 5.1.
-
Thanks, we'll take a look at it. Just to confirm, there is no way for you to change the banner identifier to anything other than "#" (e.g. *****)?
-
Can you right-click in the tree, choose "Select Fields and Grouping", and ensure that vendor icon isn't at the top of the list?
-
Have you submitted a support ticket on this issue?

crazyitguy, we have a v5 beta build that provides the ability to specify a "More" prompt to workaround the Nortel bug. It allows for specification of the More prompt (in this case "--More") so we can continue downloading the config. We'd like for both of you to join the v5 beta. Please shoot me an email at…

Those specific enhancements aren't in 5.5, but those a good ideas. I'll add those to our tracking system. For internal folks, we're tracking these as #4240, #4241

We hope to have a 2H08 release, but our current thinking was to only support monitoring Windows 2008 servers not running on them. Are there others out there that require the ability to host ipMonitor on Windows 2008 servers? If so, please post to help us prioritize.

Can you try running the switch port mapping report? Then, go to Modify Report and select the VLAN ID as a field to include in the report to see if this gives the results you're looking for?

There is an issue with the use of a custom NPM attribute (e.g., Enable_NCM_Import) to control whether or not a particular node is imported using this job. However, it does import devices from NPM to NCM on a scheduled basis and will add any new nodes from NPM to NCM. The bug is associated with more granular control over…

If this is more than a minor annoyance for you, please open a support ticket on this so we can investigate further. Also, it's worthwhile to note that we're working on (next release) in-memory aggregation which will help significantly with the performance of key summary view resources like Top 5 applications which require…

We'd definitely like to get these blocking issues resolved. I'll follow up with you both offline. For other folks reviewing this thread, it's important to note that while the symptoms are similar, they may be completely unrelated in nature. We'd need a lot more information to make that determination.
-
This sounds like a bug. Please open a ticket on this issue and attach diagnostics.
-
I'd recommend opening a ticket with support so we can investigate.
-
Good stuff dayley. If you're amenable, I'd like to set up a call with you to run through all 15 of these ;-) I'll send you an email offline.

I understand this is not as trivial as i describe it, but there is at least no new technology required as you already have a variable for the count of the number of processes. What do you think? It seems straightforward. Do you need to be able to know which specific processes are up/down or do you simply care that 10…

Yes, this was fixed in 5.0 SP2.

Moving to NCM 5.1 beta forum:

Curious, is there any time frame as to when there will be a release for the Windows 2008 task scheduler issue? I am trying to plan a roll out. We're working on this now. The current plan based on feedback is to release this as a SP. For those interested, please open a support ticket against Windows 2008 support in NCM and…
-
No worries. I'm glad you were able to get this resolved ;-)
-
Yes, that's correct. We're actively working on resolving the issues due to the changes in the new Windows 2008 task scheduler (see NCM release notes for details on current limitations).
-
I agree, there's certainly lots of reference code out there ;-) That's also on the roadmap, but it comes down to where this fits in with our broader goals of integrating NPM/NCM. I.E. We don't want to do implement this in NCM only to have to do it again when they're integrated. Dawn and the Thwack dev team are working on a…

Do you have access to the NCM database? If so, you can take the following steps to reset your Administrator password. 1. Launch the SQL Database Manager by navigating to Start > Programs > SolarWinds Orion Network Configuration Manager 2. In the window on the left, open the database component called…

Are you using the TFTP Server that came with Engineer's Toolset 9.0 or the free TFTP Server downloaded from SolarWinds.com? The reason I ask is the free version on SolarWinds.com has not yet been updated. We expect to release the free version in the coming months.
