Please continue to work these cases through your support rep. Since multiple customers are experiencing the same issue, I'd like to understand the exact scenario a little better to ensure we're testing this throroughly for 5.1. Are all of you experiencing these issues installing 5.0 from scratch or are you upgrading from a…

Sorry, I thought that post had been updated. I just changed it. IPAM 3.1 adds support for SQL 2012, so you'd need to upgrade from 3.0 before you could run with SQL 2012. All your other product versions look good to go.

Denny is right. We're exploring the addition of more generic WMI polling later in the year. For those interested in WMI polling, what are the drivers for getting this data? How would you use this data in your job? For example, are your network infrastructure management responsibilities being extended to include more…

That's correct, but the good news is we're working on it as we speak. See this link for what we're working on.

The refreshing of the page is different from the refreshing of the data. The refreshing of the data is based on the timing interval you've specified in the monitor itself. So, if you want the data to refresh every second, then you would set the Timing for the monitor to be every second.

This is fixed in SP1 which you should be receiving soon.

Scott and I discussed this offline. Based on the session trace provided, this device does not accept username and password when establishing the SSH session. Our SSH state machine expects to already be logged in at the point you see the "Username:" prompt appear and so it just times out waiting for a login prompt. We're…

Also, consider adjusting your data compression timeframes:

You have no doubt already found this, but the Import Node scheduled jobs type only allows you to filter by vendor or machine type as you import nodes from Orion. There is a true/false property in NCM that can be mapped to a property on the Orion NPM side called EnableOrionImport.

First of all, I want to also clarify that we have literally thousands of customers using Cirrus that are not experiencing this issue. We're continuing to work with all customers that are reporting failure of random device downloads during nightly config backups. The problem is we have not been able to successfully…

We're working on SNMP-based status polling in an enhanced version of the Orion poller that's in dev now. If you're interested in being part of the CTP, please send me an email.

Ok, thanks for the screen shots. It appears your NCM installation did not complete successfully. Can you trying doing a repair on the NCM installation and re-run the NCM configuration wizard? Afterwards, make sure the Orion NCM Information Service is running.

We have no current plans to enhance these for Linux, but if there are more requests, we might consider it.

Thanks for the feedback. Orion licensing has never worked through a web proxy so this wasn't added to the deactivation utility either (License Manager), but we absolutely see your point. Good news! We're working on new licensing components that will allow connection to the web using a proxy. As these components are…

Can you please check out the following post to see if this helps? There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding these charts. Most of it stems from the fact that they're not based on real-time system state. I'd like to propose moving to a real-time option by default. So, Running vs. Startup would based on the last diff…

Afternoon, Has there been any updates on this proposed solution. For my company this would be an excellent combination. Our CTOs (yes we have several) and our CIO want graphs not raw data. The graphs in the current views and network charts are excellent and I would like to see that in the Reports. Thanks -msheehan77 Just…

SP1 now available! See announcements area for more details:

The selection of NetFlow Sources is a global setting and applies across the entire system. If you deselect an NetFlow Source, it stops collection from this source completely, not just for that user. To restrict access to specific nodes, you'll need to use Orion account limitations. Go to Account Manager and edit user1.…

Awesome! Let me know if you're able to get upload or scripts working as well. I haven't tried those functions, but our QA group is checking those out now so we can ship this as an OOTB template in our next version. I compared your config with the one I made, and I can see the changes you made, but based on the Cirrus…

Ok, these both seem like bugs. Can both please open up support tickets and attach screen shots of what you're seeing (chart, drill-down views)?

Just as a though, consider adding the database support to APM, if you're not already - MySQL support would be great! We can monitor the database port and the running database services/processes (uptime, CPU, memory) today. Access to WMI performance counters are planned for the next release. If we buy now, we'll be eligible…

I appreciate your comments and I'm not surprised you have these fears since that's how the big boys you mentioned handle most acquisitions. Rest assured, we're not them. In fact, our mission in life and the reason we've been so successful is because of our community-driven and "scrappy" approach to delivering simple, easy…

We certainly hear you and we're looking at adding more views and permission controls in a future version. I'd be very interested in how you'd like to see this access control work and what would be minimum bar. For example, is minimum bar the ability to customize who could see the Policy Violations resource when they logged…

Correct, and we don't support CASE SENSITIVE DB configurations at this point.

If this does not give you the desired results, you can always use the External Process Monitor. We have a script that will PING multiple IPs and fail only when all the IPs are not responding. This script is may come in handy if you want to ensure that 2 or more devices are not reachable before failing the Monitor (e.g.…

Cool, we hope it delivers on what you were looking for. If not, I'm sure we'll hear some good feedback that will help us improve ;-) We've got LDAP/AD authentication on the roadmap. Do you have AD or just LDAP? If just LDAP, which LDAP server are you using?

This didn't make 5.5.1, but I did verify that this is already fixed in the next release.

Are you using the scheduled Orion Node import job or are you using the File > Import Devices? The Orion Node import job should merge properly.

For evaluation purposes, you can get by with the minimum hardware requirements listed here: http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/info.aspx
