For those experiencing issues, please open a support ticket and include a reference to this thread. We'll likely need to work with you to troubleshoot the source of your inventory performance issues.

I like your node details idea....putting this in the job itself could be tough given this is a per node setting.
-
Do any of you know if this information is retrievable via SNMP as well?

Sorry I missed your posts. This is a really good feature request and we'll definitely look at this as part of 5.1. So, what if we did the following: 1. Updated our Config Change Report (both manual run and job) to allow comparison of latest startup config versus latest running config (based on configs that have been…

Sorry about that. We'll get this corrected in the KB article. PLEASE NOTE: The most impactful setting you can implement for improving DB performance is Top Talker optimization (previously Smart Traffic Optimization). See this article for how to enable.
-
FYI, one option to consider is navigating to NTA settings area and enabling "Allow monitoring of unmanaged interfaces". This way if at least one of the interface indexes in the received flows maps to an Orion managed interface, NTA will accept the flow data

Please open a ticket with technical support and let them know you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success. If you have another machine you can try installing on, you might try that to see if it makes any difference.

Checked with dev. Please add the Events menu item to the user's tabs where the error is occurring.

Please see this post for reporting requests for Application Monitor:

The PreCommand is only used during initial login. It looks like you're missing the "y" in the template as part of the file upload command - see below. Let me know if this works for ya. <Commands> <Command Name="RESET" Value=""/> <Command Name="Reboot" Value="reboot"/> <Command Name="EnterConfigMode" Value="configure…

The issue is that the policy rules will only alert on the first violation. To workaround around this, you'll need to use the exact interface name in your RegEx (e.g. interface FastEthernet0/1) and have a rule per interface. I know this is less than ideal, but I thought it might be helpful in the interim.

Ok, thanks for that. I haven't heard this problem from other customers but I can definitely understand that reliability of change comparisions is paramount. Please submit a support ticket and we'll get to the bottom of this. I'll let them know this is coming.
-
Have you upgraded to APM 3.5 RC? It should be in your portal now.
-
Please go ahead and create a support ticket and we'll investigate this further.
-
Looks like something else is going wrong, possibly with the reindexing process. We'll need you to open a support ticket with diagnostics to troubleshoot this further. Unfortunately, this isn't something we've seen before, but I'll run this by dev just in case.

Yes, that sounds like an ideal scenario for ipMonitor. Just curious, what are your trying to monitor?

Thank you for your quick response! However, I've tried to drill down into NCM to find that reporting option, but it's not shown. I have 'Home', 'Configuration Management,' 'Inventory,' 'Compliance' as upper level tabs and drilling down into any of those devices doesn't invoke the ability to click Actions. We're running NCM…

We believe we've fixed the license upgrade issue. To get the unlimited license on your 9.0.5 system, use the configuration utility to park your license and re-license. That should do it! Let us know if you experience any issues. Thanks, -Chris

Thanks for the additional comments. I'll reply to the original post to see if I can get some more details.
-
Thanks for the feedback. In the interim, you can go to NCM client application and run the report and then chose File > Export > Excel spreadsheet
-
If/when we extend NPM node management to allow for managing NCM nodes, our thinking is that we would make the addition to NCM optional. If the user selected to add node to NCM, the user woudl then be able to fill in the required NCM-specific information for that node. Orion NPM would become your centralized web console for…

Have you reviewed the tech ref on creating templates? If so, do you have a template that you've already started for this device?

Cirrus gathers the following from on servers using SNMP. For your Linux devices, you should be able to get most of these details by installing the free Net-SNMP agent. * System Info * IP Addresses * Interfaces * ARP table * Route table * TCP ports * UDP ports * Windows services * Windows accounts * Windows software

Jon, as long as you rename when you copy an existing to create your custom ones, they won't be reset during upgrade.

The problem with what you have above is that the state machine continues to look for the virtual prompt you specified and doesn't expect a prompt change. Try using this instead: <Command Name="VirtualPrompt" Value="Enter switch number to connect to or <CR>"/> <Command Name="EnterCLI" Value="${CRLF}" Delay="300" RegEx=""/>…

v4.0.1 is now available, which fixes an issue where the 'Changes over the Last XX Days' config change report would report inaccurate data. Please see release notes for more data: http://www.solarwinds.com/support/cirrus/docs/ReleaseNotes/releaseNotes.htm

Which link are you clicking? You should be able to click the Download button (see screen shot below). Inside the zip file, you will find the 5.5.1 server and 5.5.1 integration module executables.

If not any chance this can be more then just put on the radar and start being put on a path to a when will it be available? NTA is great for seeing what traffic is going on the network just wish it could do a little more to allow some alerting. Having netflwo alert me when something really changes in the way traffic flows…

Sounds good. Once you've posted the erorr, I'll forward to our Thwack dev team so they can investigate and hopefully resolve.
