Hi there, I'm not exactly sure how to correctly add the device type to this query, but I bet the right THWACKster is out there who does know. My suggestion is to pose this question in the Platform forum
-
Hi there, I'm going to suggest you take this issue to support as it's difficult to troubleshoot without a meeting, more questions and a screen share
-
as long as you are current in your maintenance contract, someone in your company should have the SWID. If not, you can reach out to customerservice@solarwinds.com for assistance. More than one user account can be linked to a single SWID. That will give you access to the full library of training videos, but also renewals,…

This question is answered here: thwack.solarwinds.com/.../how-to-remove-a-node-from-the-solarwinds-map

Correct. A support ticket is probably a good idea if you're not completely sure. I do know in recent years we've released several improvements to make an uninstall easier but sometimes as with uninstalling any complex software, there are some cleanup steps that have to be done. Also, and I can't stress this enough BACK UP…

You will need SAM or the Server and Application Monitoring features in Hybrid Cloud Observability.

Thanks for jumping in and helping users @"donrobert5" :) Such a great thing about THWACK is how everyone helps everyone. I've been training partners most of the week and unavailable.
-
I would have to double check to see if this is not present in an evaluation but this seems likely. If you do not see what I have highlighted in the screenshot then this seems likely. Let me know and I'll see if I can find out from our Product Team
-
Great answer, I would've asked the same thing :)
-
I forwarded this on to our coordination team for follow up
-
Correct. You can find a complete list of exams here: SolarWinds Certified Professional.
-
Log in to the customer portal with your customer ID and navigate to Support - Open a Case.
-
No worries at all! I hope you can get the answer there
-
HI there! I was going to suggest that you post this in the NCM forum, but I see that you have. That's probably the best route in this case as I'd have to play around with this request to figure out the best way to do it. I know we have a lot of NCM experts around who might be able to assist you better.…

Sorry for the delay! I heard back from our product team, and they're interested in more details on what you'd like to accomplish. They'd like to see a support ticket opened for this request so they can get more details and track it. You can open a support ticket from the customer portal. Hope that helps!

OK, if you're not getting the additional information you need from the default polling, either standard or with Network Insight, then you'll likely have to build a custom SNMP poller for the metric if it is surfaced through SNMP. We also have a REST API polling tool if needed. But once you can poll the specific metric, you…
-
First are you seeing that information in any web console displays like Node Details or Network Insight for Palo Alto? We would need to be polling the specific entity and status in order to alert on it. If you haven't enabled Network Insight for Palo Alto, the information you want might be in that feature. Here is an…

This is an interesting question. Let me see if I can get one of our ITSM product people to provide an answer. :)

Hi there! @"donrobert5" is correct, it depends on what products you have. If you are an active customer and have access to the Customer Portal Virtual Classrooms, you can also access our library of product training offered by our training staff.

I don't know the status of adding additional hypervisors for support. That is something that our Product Managers may be able to comment on. We have been moving the product-based "What We're Working On" Forums into Hybrid Cloud Observability. If you go to this page: What We’re Working On for Hybrid Cloud Observability and…
-
Fred is correct. You can get some virtualization information using SAM, but it won't be the same as with VMAN and you won't have all the same features that VMAN offers for supported hypervisors.
-
hey Marc! *waves^ I understand what you're saying, but I am also fine confessing I don't know how to improve it. This is just a wee bit outside my scope of expertise. LOL, I think a Product Manager would be a good place to start, as that is who I would go to on my own anyway. LOL I'm curious, so I'll inquire and see if any…

I have reached out to our SCP Certification team so they can assist you. Let me clarify, though, have you received your digital badge by email? Or is this just a question on how to add your existing badge to your THWACK profile? Thanks!
-
yes, I sure will. All of us will be teaching sessions :)
-
The first question is, what contact details do you want? Is it just what is reported for "Contact" on the Node Details widget? That info is found in the database and can be used. If you want other contact details in the widget, you'll want to be sure we are polling it in the first place so that it's in the database. From…
-
this likely wouldn't fit in a KPI widget, though if someone has a suggestion on how to do that (custom SWQL query, I'd imagine), I'd love to hear it. However, you probably can do this in a table widget which would look very similar to the report
-
This is great advice. Jobs like NCM backups, large reports, etc., can cause issues and the number one way to get around those issues is to split them into several smaller tasks. Thanks for adding this feedback!
-
can you be a little more specific in what you mean? OEM is a pretty broad topic ;)

Hi there, if the alerts are status-based (warning, critical), which is very common in situations like this, I'd also consider refining your status thresholds on the interfaces. If that's never been done, then the alerting engine is using the global defaults, which tend to be too generalized for today's networks. While…
