Also, remember that SRM and WPM are actual modules that run on the Self-Hosted Platform (Formerly Orion). DPA is a separate stand-alone product that utilizes a web console plugin to bring data into the platform's web console but has its own server, database, and features.

I can tell you, having participated in the design of several exams, we do our best to make them as applicable as possible. In other words, less of rote memorization and more of how do you *USE* the skills in real world. We try to make them as close to a practical exam as possible without the ability currently to have…

Good suggestions, thank you!

Many thanks to the fabulous @"ChrystalT" for finding a THWACK repository for this document! @"mark.gover" @"itengineer" @"osvict" and everyone, here is a Learning Path document to help you navigate the Portal. Customer Portal Recommended Learning Path From this document, you can pick out the courses that apply to whatever…
-
Correct. And if you see my response to @mark.gover stay tuned for a Learning Path document I hope to be able to share in this thread to help you navigate it.
-
@"mark.gover" No offended toes here whatsoever. The inability to customize this interface further is a shared frustration. The Customer Portal is not an LMS system, so we do not have many options for organizing classes into any sort of learning path at the moment. That said, please stay tuned for updates in the (hopefully)…

Just backing up @"SaraClark" on this and giving my technical two cents worth. I have personally seen some other sources out there that claim to be study guides for our exams. While some *might* be effective tools, since we haven't seen or reviewed any of them, they should be taken with a grain of salt. The biggest issue I…

I would also recommend that, if you have an active maintenance license on any SolarWinds product, you take the Academy training courses related to the product for which you wish to certify. I've also seen some questions and challenges you've posted here in the Academy space, that the training would assist with. So not just…

Bullet point 1: was intentional. After 3 years, we typically release a lot of features and changes. We want to be sure that people are current. Since we do not have a CE program, it has to be a recertification. Especially when its two different products with two different disciplines.
-
That is a pretty old training and the maps have been enhanced since then. I would recommend you take the on demand training for INtelligent maps on the customer portal You should find this recording in the SolarWinds Self-Hosted Platform category. Also, for the latest features in Intelligent Maps, such as the Network Atlas…
-
I agree. Reading through the errors and issues, you should consider contacting support. If you have a successful Diagnostics, be sure to tell them and they'll give you a secure link to upload. If not, they can assist you with that issue as well.
-
As a reminder, NTA is already included in the Hybrid Cloud Observability Network Monitoring exam.
-
@"ChrystalT" is correct We do not discount THWACK point purchases for exams.
-
I would like someone to please provide a link as to where they are seeing that reference. I can't comment anymore on it until I know where it is coming from. Thanks!
-
I'll see what I can find out. As far as I know, our training, at least for the certifications (not THWACK events and content) is all on the customer portal and is not available for free. We do have some videos on YouTube and such, but not the complete training courses for the certification tests. For those, you must be a…
-
Can someone please give me a hyperlink to where those Bullet points were found? I will inquire.
-
@"Seashore" and @"marcrobinson" are correct. I encourage you to look at Anomaly-Based Alerts we have seen customers with really well designed alerts still have significant noise reduction because of the AIOPs and Machine-learning technology on the SaaS Platform. THanks for answering while I was sleeping!
-
hello, I joined all three of these related topics into one discussion thread that talked about all of them. All of the suggestions in all three threads would apply to the entire discussion and puts all the great suggestions in one place. :)
-
Yes, the vouchers will be back. Earning 60K THWACK points will earn you a voucher to take the test.

There are some great resources for SWQL that can help you far more efficiently. FIrst, you may want to check out the Orion SDK forum on THWACK SolarWinds SDK Also there are great resources in the Success Center for using SWQL in the Self-Hosted Platform (formerly known as…

It's become my polite soapbox LOL. We all are getting old! I've been with SolarWinds since 2011. Yikes!
-
Good call, donrobert5. The report is great, especially if you need to generate a report on a schedule for compliance or internal due diligence. However, I still default to the Message Center if I need to take a quick look to see who did what. With all the developments we've done in the Platform in recent years, the Message…
-
I think this might be the best way. Yeah, you can do whatever you want with SWQL queries, and I'm a big fan, but as a general best practice with alerts, especially if you are not really strong with SWQL, I usually recommend that people make their trigger conditions only as complex as absolutely needed. A Boolean logic…

I'm going to jump in with one more comment on this, and yes, I agree with @"marcrobinson" @"vinay.by" _ that is a GREAT explanation! Before the rest of your team asks, @"ImNishat" you will see differences between bandwidth metrics in the NPM data, and NTA. Just remind them that NTA, while it tracks and shows the large…
-
Look at the fun you all have while I'm sleeping! LOL. Vinay and Marc gave great answers. I will just add one thing (and @"marcrobinson" I KNOW you're going to laugh and probably roll your eyes at me, LOL): HCO is not a "suite of modules" like NAM or NOM was. HCO is its own product, originally built on the feature set of 10…

@"bobmarley" do you have a suggestion to limit this report to 90 days in the query?
-
both @"donrobert5" and @"bobmarley" have sound suggestions. You should be able to modify the query (or the time period in the Audit view) to 90 days. Unless the default retention was changed, Audit train is stored in the DB for 365 days.
-
You may consider using the scoping feature in the future if possible. Scope the alert to specific entities or exclude specific entities. This helps keep your actual trigger conditions cleaner and is a best practice recommendation when possible.
-
As the article @"donrobert5" posted shows, SolarWinds products only install with MSSQL. MySQL, PostgreSQL and others are not currently supported.
