@"emck"do you mean the local admin console in the system tray? That password can be changed in the Global server details/settings for the server, I dont believe it can be linked to an AD account.

Hi @"ivodlouhy" and @"bshopp" - is this entirely resolved in v15.2.1 now? I note the following in the release notes.. "Web Client Pro and FTP Voyager java client load correctly." But i wanted to check if there are any exceptions or issues still to be resolved with it? Thanks!
-
For anyone following, this was resolved in 15.2.1, thanks to @"ivodlouhy" Released here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Serv-U-FTP-Server-MFT-Server/Serv-U-FTP-Server-and-Serv-U-MFT-Server-version-15-2-1-are-now/m-p/596282

I havent heard of any issues but make sure you go to 15.2.1 not 15.2.0 as you will need to change all user passwords if you use 15.2.0. I would still raise a ticket with support before you upgrade from 14, just to check there is no specific upgrade path. You could also try it on a test server with a trial before you do it…

@"dsilille"At the moment there is no email digest function in Serv-U that I am aware of. You could submit it as a feature request though. A complex solution would be to get Serv-U send the emails to a specific address that then agregates them and sends them as a digest after an interval, that would require some scripting…
-
@"Ismail22" Is this within the File Sharing functionality or SFTP/FTP? If you are sending anonymous links to different people then the IP Address is the only identifier.
-
@"tiagocoelho2" @"jmihos" Have you guys submitted this to Solarwinds support? As I have the same question.
-
@"ivodlouhy"are you able to help with this please?
-
@"ivodlouhy"Could you let us know if this has been fixed/support added in v15.2? Thanks!
-
@"ivodlouhy"The impact of this line.. Increased password security (every user needs to create a new password) ..it huge and unworkable. Please see these two threads for details..…
-
@"chrisrow"Would also be interested to know if FTP/SFTP accounts could still successfully log in using their current password or were they just disconnected/denied access? Would be a nightmare for automated processed for example. You raised an important point - what happens if they have to change their password but the…
-
Thanks for posting this @"chrisrow" I have just made a detailed post to Solarwinds because apparently this is intentional! Here is my post about why it is entirely unworkable.. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Serv-U-FTP-Server-MFT-Server/Serv-U-15-2-Forced-Password-change-for-ALL-accounts-entirely/td-p/595394 Please share…
-
Here is the official information from the release that shows how unworkable this is... Serv-U version 15.2 will be using a stronger encryption for the user password. This will affect the Domain and Database users. Windows Authentication and LDAP Authentication accounts will use the same password. After upgrading to version…

Watch out for that update box, it doesnt include/notify you of hotfix updates.
-
I have further information. We have performed a clean install of Serv-U on a VM and checked each version/hotfix.. Serv-U 15.1.6.25 no hotfix - WinSCP can upload OK Serv-U 15.1.6.31 hotfix 1 - WinSCP can upload OK Serv-U 15.1.6.80 hotfix 2 - WinSCP CANNOT UPLOAD - ERROR no such file Serv-U 15.1.6.84 hotfix 3 - WinSCP CANNOT…
-
Just a quick note that Serv-U domains are not AD domains, the terminology is a bit confusing. But you can configure a Serv-U domain to authenticate against AD.
-
Im not sure on the field but have you cross-referenced it with the list of users on the admin panel and checked if their 'enabled account' checkbox is ticked in the user properties? Would be good to know if this is the case.
-
I think is the solution you are looking for.. Setting Up "Delete After Download" Events With Serv-U
-
donrobert5 is correct. To expand on it a little, if you create groups for each team, you can then set Virtual Paths and Directory Access for each team to specific folders. Then you just move a user in and out of a Team Group depending on what you want them to have access to.
-
What software are you using to copy the files, have you set up a suitable user account and password on Serv-U for the transfer?
-
This also appears to still be broken in the Serv-U release from 25 April 2019 - 15.1.7.162
-
Hi Chris, I have also had a problem in the past with filenames that contain apostrophes, I think it causes problems with the web interface JavaScript. Would be worth raising a support ticket for this with Solarwinds. Also, you should fine be uploading it via FTP/SFTP - Have you tried that? Mention it in your ticket.
-
Make sure you escape slashes in your paths if you are changing those files.
-
Yes, I have seen this. Usually the way around it is to right click the tray icon and select 'Use system browser', try that either on or off and see if it fixes the issue?
-
Is this a Serv-U question? If so, please put your log from 'domain activity' in here and we can take a look.
-
What SFTP software are you using? Are you able to show us a screenshot of the error and a screenshot of your Encryption tab on Serv-U?
-
I agree. A HTML5 implementation would be so much more compatible. Realistically people can only use Web Client Pro within Internet Explorer but there is also a bug in the latest Java which stops Web Client Pro from working even in IE. Are you having the same problem? I have raised a ticket and also posted it here.. Web…

There's a hotfix for the TLS issue with Firefox, maybe work applying it and seeing if it fixes this for you too? https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/75655 Please let us know
-
Anychance this is using the latest FileZilla? We've seen this too. Try connecting with standard FTP, not FTP with TLS and see if you get the same problem. Let us know how you get on because there could be a larger problem?
-
Hi Steve, is the server you are connecting to running Serv-U? If so, you could potentially use an 'Event' within Serv-U MFT to run the Attrib command to change the archive bit on the files you have downloaded. I'm not sure if you can configure FTP Voyager to only download 'Archive' files though?
