rfager88; even after a discovery interval (default of 30 minutes), if you are not sure click re-discover node. I do not like the fix from NPM 11.5.3 where you un-manage the node and re-add. I'll see what else I can find, but it might take me a moment.

If you update the SNMP details (if changed, and your login creds - if needed) and verify of your credentials shows green - simply click on Rediscover. Let that run and within a few minutes refresh and you should see a new device type. The system OID should update. If the system OID is not updating then its a discovery…

Are you using an AD Account, and if so do you have an individual account? Your individual account will supersede the group setup. If you duplicate existing menu bars make sure you re name them properly so it's easy to find when picking out the Menu bars you want the account to see in your Account Settings. Let us know if…

We at this time are unaware of any issues; as I am currently waiting for the correct 'Time Frame' so our NPM and a few other components can be upgraded to the current version. Once done I will edit to add any devices we have issue with.

scottgille The Module you want to add is 'SELECTED NODE PROPERTIES' - once added click the edit button and Rename this module and you will see a long list of check boxes for the details and/or custom properties that you want to display in this module. **put it on a certain device type of a node details page**

That looks like a report, if you can share your break down it would make it a little easier. Off the top though I would say check the graph details for what time frame your data points are set display on (5,10,15, 30, 60 minutes). The graph will average out multiple data points within whatever time frame you have set, so…

Not that I know of, but make it a feature request!

Your Hot Fixes have been applied?

I have not really noticed this, I customize the pages for my desire and usually everyone else likes it. So I am doing the same with NPM12 ... old version is still running, so I had no way to see how it affected my current views. Though I will consider and make some nudging to make laptop screens a possibility for use…

nathatnwilson@bloominbrands.com is correct about the logic; when you nest a condition it places parenthesis around that nested portion So overall your argument is; Volume Caption = C label1 or Volume Caption = C label2 or Volume Caption = C label3 or (Volume % Avail <= 35 and VolType = Fixed Disk) rearrange your argument…

This might also come up if you do not have admin rights to the application. Just in case all your looking still doesn't show a cause check your account access.

Any changes you would make on the device directly would change the Running Configuration, until you save to startup. If we need to detect on the different types of changes. config mode vs tftp new config or image, we would need to highlight that syslog or trap message to start the change detection process, so we get the…

Yes; create your Custom Property as a Date/Time; and you should be able to do this either with SQL or a Normal Advanced Alert(Node or Interface alert), Advanced Alert you may be left to = , < , > SQL would allow you to compare values, and do more calculations if you want a certain time frame before triggering the alert. I…

We have an effort of 3 and 4 nines when it comes to service. But any major outage blows that out of the water. Beyond that a large institution has so many points of failure that just a small office being offline could cut your numbers if your thresholds are offset. In the never ending battle of management and the number…

I have had this issue before in the past. randy.morgan@gmail.com, though anytime i have seen that screen my pollers still work. It has also been some time, I can not remember if that went away with an update; or if a running of the config wizard for the DB helped at all. I think I may have gotten this error as well trying…

Or should this .exe start when the jobs start? and Stop when the Jobs End?

No application errors showing in the logs either. Going to try a simple reboot. And this Error showing in logs as the services are attempting to start up : AND AFTER THIS SERVICE ALREADY STARTED : 16 and 15 seconds later from the Starting and STARTED (Core Service [NCM SERVER] Started) Messages the one below comes in.…

You may also find some well to do insight with the Re: Interface Errors thread.

(This is custom properties for me, like this catagory, building or device type, some custom property setups don't alert or don't alert to us so I leave those out of this alert.... ') and (InErrorsThisHour > 0 or OutErrorsThisHour > 0) This next part is to make sure there are Errors. No minimum requirement, but it does get…

I have a report that show Job Weight for each Orion Server and the Weight Scale Metric for each Application Component. Element counts are also included. Though it would be great to see this natively. Orion+Application+and+Polling+Server+Load+Details.xml

Make sure your "Property Type to Monitor" is Volume related, and change 3 lines to the simple format (sorry just caught the last one as well) field Caption is not equal to value Virtual Memory field Caption is not equal to value Physical Memory field Ignore_Disk_Alert is empty so that they read; (volumes -> volume…

In the hardware health is there anything in warning or critical? There are a lot of items there that have the potential to trigger alert that may not be actionable items.

All changes have to come with a notification; and a specific watch of the affected nodes incorporated with the change. * Temporarily redirecting traffic that’s unknown to a security device for analysis - This may be an issue as we have numerous devices with cheap network electronics and they may act or generate traffic…

Add a condition where Class = 3. This is your NCM Entity class. Other hardware in the swtich/node (Power supplies, fans, etc) have a different Class. Make sure you have an inventory job working to gather new entries to the system. If you are still not seeing nodes listed in your report setup a test report for your nodes…

isto , for specifics you might want to include a little insight about your setup. Just as well, for me Sonar is a great tool to get your nodes into the system, but you might find yourself managing and picking out entities to monitor specifically from each node. I don't need to use the extra resources to monitor the same…

The job or query the system was trying to run is timing out. Either there is too much data, or the system is not getting the chance to run. So without too much more data to go off; What are your resources like on the SQL Server? CPU, Memory, Disk? When you run the Configuration Wizard (first install mainly), did you use…

200 Switches with all interfaces, so 200 x 24 (or more?) 200 x 48? Or are we running 4507 and 4510's? 200 x (5 x 48) - now you are getting somewhere... that is far more than 200 elements. This could be quite the load you are adding to your servers. If you have more than 1 polling engine I would be sure to adjust the load…

I didn't have this issue, but I think I am still waiting on a Shirt that was already deducted with my last order(everything else already came).
