see what you started?

That is what did it for me. Thanks!

I would check your devices to see if the SNMP query is even making it to the device, and see what is happening to it (if it makes it). Make sure the packet is not being dropped, SNMP service stays up on the boxes. If you have multiple routes you might need to assign some priority to use the same routes if the main links…

Copy the name and paste it into the Body... unfortunately I see no variable to parse that into your Message Body to create a straight Cut and Paste option to add this to all your traps. I do sort of the same thing now with our Advanced Alerts - Each one has an ID and we just take the # in sequence. It makes it easy to…

Yo do have to ignore the auto if I read things correctly.. though I am sure it is just an added layer of suppression, if it configured itself correctly. Can't wait to find out more!

We did experience a similar problem. We would see this translated into UnDP times not updating within the NPM Web Console on a node details type page. Let SW analyze your logs and errors. (As your server logs may show some specific area of issue that you can look into)
-
You would forward it to another log manager/collector - if you were using another system to aggregate or filter logs from a few different monitoring systems.

You are welcome. Thanks for the correct answer.

What Avaya Model's are you working with?

Maybe I need more coffee today, but I am not sure what you are noting as different syntax. Any extra detail or example you have might help.... With your query; Nodes.Caption like 'ServerName%' and Volumes.Caption not Like '%C:\*%' and Volumes.Caption not Like '%memory%' if you need more iterations with this you might…

I want to make sure I understand what it is you are trying to do. Can you explain, what are you alerting on? We can either pull in the detail you want or build it out within the system so you can get the effect of; if ${NodeName} contains pr than PROD if ${NodeName} contains ts than TEST if ${NodeName} does not contain pr…

In the past I have closed and re-opened the app. Sometimes that would help the error to 'go away'. Other times I just worked through the error - clicking on okay each pop up and getting to the end where that UnDP is in place to apply to a node (and this can be frustrating, as I've had that error pop up on almost each .X…

@"mesverrum" is correct. Though for mass selection; that is where I use the page sizing and sorting along with Custom Properties or at least the Vendor/Machine Type. If you can sort all of the nodes together, you have up to 250 that you can select en-masse without using the Red Link for Selecting Everything when you have…

You could also use this report; https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/Report-Lab-Documents/Enabled-Alerts-Query-Details-xml/ta-p/513501 I just pulled it up on my 2020.2 system to confirm it still loads as it should.

Very useful! I adjusted slightly for preference. I find that it is easier to manage several values in the same location using this, for me it is just easier to track. I used this to build a template to check for the Windows server Update Settings. I will upload the template as well, to use if you want to monitor WU…

You might try digging into the AppData folder and see if there are any log files with recently dated lines. I think that would be appdata\solarwinds\npm . . . there are also a couple of log files that generate in the programs folder under each respective modules folder. These would all be text files, might be .txt or .log…

This may depend on how much of the box/services you are monitoring via WMI, but yes it does take more resources. I figure someone has an algorithm for this...somewhere. Maybe one of the other #mvps.
-
Test and monitor with WMI is using ping to check the node status and the login may be simulating or acting as normal user activity which is allowed on the server and gives you access (simulation/act is an idea - someone in Dev could confirm this). 2 things I would check at this point - if you have verified that the SNMP…

any specifics for Server 2012?

He get's his voice lessons from me.... just don't tell anyone i said that... non disclosure and all.. haha

Any entity that you are monitoring can be added to a map. If your outgoing connection/interface has multiple external IP's as 'neighbors' you might need to see if you can setup a sub interface for the connections. These sub/virtual interfaces when monitored will be map able. If you are able to at least monitor the external…

File Editing for the Win! Excellent! We have done the same for WPM in some cases where we can just change the URI for the site being checked, if the same credentials are used.

sad, but makes sense when it comes to pushing LEM.

I am still working on the Query Layout, but this has the data not in XML. I also will be updating this with additional email details sometime in the near future. Find line 15 and comment out the where clause that filters the report to 'Enabled Alerts'.…

I think Orion Maps might be considered under NPM, but I will certainly support a separate section dedicated to the new Orion Maps. I have specifically been curious if/when ties to the Network Topology Mapper may be provided, as I am seeing an extended number of environments that have NTM with the bundled packages being…

Your last item is my biggest headache now, and often - EVEN with a DB Team that is AWESOME and a DB ADMIN that impressed the SW Engineer on my last support case - SAN or any outside your physical box Storage (especially DB on VM or other Shared resources) will be the bane of your existence. Unless you run without pollers,…

Nothing like large shiny objects to wow the suits and other passer by's. I like your bevel.

informative non the less. But it looks like the ajax view and the hostages might be the same or similar. I would group those with custom regions.. Either vendor, or location/rack #, etc and allowing a drill down on the ajax view might make that list under it fully viewable...or at least show more on the screen.
