There is not... smh - I should have gone with my gut instead of shooting myself in the foot. I see Alien's floating away...

They say the Cloud is Evil, and I AGREE! The Cloud hold's all your data, HOSTAGE! Backed up on End, so when you delete it your data still remains in the Archives. If this is a public cloud they share it with the Governing bodies no matter how much they say they don't. The cloud is so dreaded by some, that the biggest…

I'm sure they will take away a few idea's.

I think this Blanket approach stifles the fire within, though true innovators will do regardless. I also think to some level this is an important question during an IT Job interview. If you don't use technology at home, or create and build on a regular coming to work will just be a bad chore.

Alternating #mvp bumps for a consistent attack to generate enough buzz for Solarwinds Dev Team to respond with an Acceptance of Service regarding this Fr. #NoMoreDenials #bumpsquad #mvps_for_the_win

Neither Time nor Budget hinder the world I live in, there are far greater forces at play here. Major expenses are now published with the approver's name, so many managers send it up the ladder for that special, 'I paid for it' tag. It could be that, or more political, or InfoSec has an issue with it... just for starters.…

I see what you did there...

Congratulations to you ALL! Keep up the Awesome Work!

Very True and no better way to approach this (I make sure management is aware that we are not in compliance)!!! As I read years ago when perusing through what at the time were laws governing this so called compliance, Of those who are aware of said 'non compliance' it is the one who holds the most rank that will be held…

Very Nice! The Silo's and lack of Cross-Link and Connectivity Monitoring cause some of the issues in the enterprise environment. Everyone using their own monitoring tool keeps the collaboration and information sharing slightly at bay. Folks have their data and without the correlating links and associated nodes, neighbors,…

Indeed if this was not a problem for you; I would be applying to where ever it is you are employed. Best option with this 80/20 is make it 1 out of 5 ... one day a week put up a sign that reads (and adhere to this) "This is a figment of your imagination, regardless of what you see, I am not present today. If you need…

it's called having a job to do, and the access you have can help prevent the user from ever calling you about an issue. Having the proper access and management tools are everything in keeping your machine well oiled. Exec's unaware of this should be working at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company

Awesome set of questions! I can say that I am guilty of not asking for all of these details... along with the idea of a regular audit or review of what you have to make sure the node/server still responds as well as the application. - I had a server admin remove my service account for monitoring from access to a server...…

There was a time............that this makes me think of. One place I was at the Infosec team (mgmt or someone) contracted a company to come out to our site and make some 'network noise'... it was the Solarwinds apps that started my investigation and a few minutes in I get a call from Infosec and they are all in a huff over…

All too true, and a scenario that would be entirely out of one's hands. Let's just go back to Pencil and Paper and buy extra erasers!

You can do it through the DB Manager. duplicate each tab, then you have to tie them together in the DB Manager. Simplifying this would be a good thing and make life easier.

Great Write up, and break down of the legal consequences of not being compliant. You've got to be good at IT and stay on top of your systems and network!

Personal equipment is personal, until you place it on your Business Network, Wireless or Wired; Guest or Authenticated... we all agreed to that long list of things we will and will not do based on what HR has agreed we can agree to. With that little fact, unless you are creating an Hotspot to place your own device on to…
