I did double-check that line in the config file and for some reason every single switch adds a space to the end of this line but not to any of the others I was checking. I modified the line to read ^\s{1,}authentication event server alive action reinitialize\s{1,}[\r\n]*$ ...and now it works. Thank you very much!

After I tried installing the "Information Server" as suggested in some knowledge base articles the problem still persisted.
