We don't have alerts set on memory usage for our servers. The way I figure it is that the memory is there to be used. Instead we focus on monitoring system and application performance (we make very heavy usage of Orion APM). If the system or applicaiton is performing poorly then I look at memory as a possible restraint at…

Until the functionality that Brandon is referencing is available you can probably use a map to accomplish this. Just put all of your nodes in one map and have the upper level be the container that they are all in. Hope this helps, let me know if you have questions about this.

crodri as CourtesyIT noted, I did recently upload some application temples for Orion SAM that can be used to monitor different aspects of CommVault. You can find the ones I uploaded at the links below. You can also go to the Server Application Monitor Content Exchange section of Thwack and search for CommVault to see all…

You will need to create a set of UnDP's (Universal Device Pollers) for this to collect the data. Then you can display it and alert on it as is necessary for your environment. If you look HERE there is a set of UnDP's already setup that you can download and import, they may provide you what you need.

I haven't had any luck with vfilers either. I am curious on how you are handling your physical filers, would you mind sharing?

I agree that the new FOE solution is much more costly for those operating on a limited budget. In our situation I found the the old HSE solution was mostly useless because it didn't cover for Syslog, SNMP Traps, or any of the Orion Modules such APM. Additionally it didn't offer many configuration options to determine when…

Definitely going to have to agree with this. I just had my poller stop running for two days, when these things happen there is never any indicators unless you are digging around looking at next poll times or database table update times.
-
Here is the interesting part, I took a look an the Resource Pool information is stored in the Orion database.
-
I would absolutely love to see the resource pools also as that is how we logically group things in vCenter.
-
In the Network Atlas, on the right hand side if you expand (click on the little +) a map you should see all of the objects associated with it in a hierarchical layout. Is this what you are looking for?
-
Not a noob! For any noob reading this, definitely take this opportunity, the UX team is awesome to work with and this is your chance to have direct input into future development of Orion.

There are several ways that you can accomplish this... The first option is to edit the Trigger Condition on the alert an add a simple condition for each node that you want excluded such as Node Name not equal to <your node name>. This option is slightly clunky and doesn't scale very well. The other option is to edit the…

Can you post a screen shot of the alert you have configured in the Alert Manager?
-
If I am not mistaken they are testing this functionality in the Beta version of SAM now. If you need something now, I have a Universal Device Poller that will collect this information (though not nearly as pretty as the new SAM feature). You can find that poller HERE. Hope this helps!
-
You should be able to configure this in the alert. When you have the email settings for your alert open there is a tab called Alert Escalation. Hope this helps!
-
My guess would be that they changed the name of the Custom Properties resource.

Out of the box NPM does not monitor CPU and Memory utilization for a Fortigate. However, you can collect this data using UnDP's (Universal Device Pollers). You will need to use a Transform to divide Mem Usage by Mem Capacity to get Mem Percent Used. I believe the OID's you would need are as follows... Fortinet CPU Usage:…

In speaking with a support technician at SolarWinds I was informed that the additional pollers would support the Syslog and SNMP Trap listener functionality if those servers are started. Also according to the technician, if a system sends a trap or a log to both the primary and the additional poller it will get logged to…

When you are configuring the alert action, you can configure the email with variables. There is a button called "Insert Variable" when configuring the email that is sent, if you browse through the variable options you should find what you are looking for. Below are two variables you might want to try... ${OutPercentUtil}…

As far as these requests are concerned, #3 is very important to us as well, #7 is Critical to us. As far as #5 and #6 are concerned, I had the opportunity to see the Alpha of the next release and there are a lot of improvements being made here.
-
Yes, this is possible. Please check the Administrators Guide under Common Components Administrators Guide you will find a section called Configuring Automatic Login. Hope this helps!
-
Here is the link where one of the SolarWinds Product Managers logged an enhancement request for this...
-
Unfortunately this isn't currently possible. There have been many people asking for this so I would suspect that it's something that SW is working on.
-
As far as I am aware this is not currently possible. You will need to add External nodes for the additional non-SNMP IP's. You can then assign your applications to those nodes. I realize this isn't an optimal solution but it's the best I have to offer.

Comments...SolarWinds...somebody...anybody?
-
Yes, this is possible. In the Advanced Alert Manager set the Alert Type to Interface and then add two simple conditions; one that names the specific node and then one that calls out that specific interface. Hope this helps!
-
I now have SW Case #1179502 open on this issue. I uploaded diagnostics from my primary polling engine as well as the APE that the nodes in question were attached to. I was also able to get one of the agents set to debug mode while it was in the broken state and get some logs from it; those have also been uploaded.
-
I just had a bunch of agents do this last night all at the same time. Calling SW support now to open a ticket on this, the amount of time i am spending restarting agents is getting out of hand.

Could you please provide a summary of what exactly you are expecting your summary page to communicate? Who will be the audience, how will they be using it, what do they want to be able to know when they look at it? Also, I should point out that you say "more high level" as compared to the default which is pretty high…

How is the data for the Pool Members getting collected and stored? Is it all the same poller that collects this data? How/where is it stored in the database?
