Marie I am going to have to disagree with you just a bit. Any product that touts itself as Enterprise Class is essentially saying that it's fault tolerant, high speed, high reliability, and low downtime. I understand that Enterprise Class may not have a specific definition associated with it but I am confident that these…

Thanks kellytice for the response! Is there a way to have it so the action waits for a few days before moving it to closed? I know it sounds silly but I am trying to support an internal process.
-
Thanks for the suggestion! Is there no way to turn email tickets off globally and then turn it on for just select accounts? The other option I was thinking was using a WebForm that then submits the ticket using the API. Not sure how that would work through for further correspondence with the submitter.

Thanks jangliss that is what I suspected but was looking for confirmation.
-
Thanks, that is a good document; however, I didn't see it address where to put the Failover Cluster app monitor.

Well, it seems that I need to be on version 10.3.1. I came into work very early this morning to prep for the upgrade and as soon as I strated on the Primary system I was greeted with the following screenshot. The one thing I will say is that I am very happy to see that it won't let me proceede if it knows that there is an…

So since I am running NPM 10.2.2 then I should be good correct?
-
I am familiar with this capability. I don't want it to run automatically in response to the alert; this would be inherently problematic. Because the system isn't intelligent you can end up with false-positives and you don't want to go executing scripts against a system that isn't really down; instead it's better to have…

In addition to events, is there a way to unacknowledge and unclear Alerts?
-
Overall it seems that APM isn't running at all as best I can tell.
-
Yeah, I have Case #222594. According to support this is a bug and they have a buddy drop that they are going to provide to resolve the issue.
-
Crap, that means I have yet another bug or bug-ish problem.
-
I am pretty sure that currently there is no way to stop the Orion internal events that aren't associated with alerts.
-
I also find the NCM web interface to be pretty slow as compared to the NPM website and in my environment both are being ran from the same server with their database on a separate system.
-
Thanks curtisi; exactly what I thought. I have gone ahead and submitted a feature request HERE for the ability to do this myself.
-
So, while there isn't an event, it's still put into an actual Warning Status and if I filter on that with an alert I will get notified any time a node is being fast-polled? Is that correct?
-
I am assuming when you say templates you mean just copying over the /reports folder from my main system where I have created the reports? If not what other way should I be doing this?
-
Do you have to copy the report folder from the Windows system over to each Additional Web server over or export each report you have added and import it for each Additional Web server?
-
When I set these up I do specify a custom URL as that is how you need to configure it to monitor an actual URL. I realize that URL doesn't need to exist on the Node that the application is assigned to. I need to be able to configure things in such a way as to allow customers to log into Orion to see the URL's that we…

sja well, if I don't come up with any better options I might setup a demo of it to see how it works, if I do I will be sure to post back here on how well it worked.
-
So, this seems to work when I choose the time frame "latest" but if I select any of the other time frames I get the list of VM's with no data in the other attribute columns that I selected. Any thoughts on what would cause this?
-
p.darila unfortunately I have not yet integrated VMAN with Orion so I don't have that reporting option yet. I will go ahead and try what you suggested; thanks!
-
kellytice thanks for that explanation. I had considered using the location convention you suggested but then it would be possible for my clients to see information regarding other clients in the location field in the WebUI. One option I am considering is using locations but not assigning them to companies; by doing this…

We would really like this as well.

I have taken a look at the Kiwi stuff that you guys now have available. The problem is that as best I can tell they only handle system logs and SNMP Traps. I need to have something that can handle other logs such as SQL logs and web logs as well as system logs. I don't actually know of many applications out there that do…

You could also use the Alert Suppression tab to say Supress if <node> is not up. Just another way to write your alert if you wish... Suppression actually won't work for something like this. When you use the suppression tab it is unaware of other logic associated with the alert. It will simply run the query against the…

Yeah, we see this a lot in the Top 10 page, too - the packet loss goes to 100% and that winds up taking up most of your view. Adding 'node status is not equal to down' on the High Packet Loss alert would squelch that noise. In the case of the Top 10 resource, an SQL filter of 'Status <> 2' cleans up the interface. Thanks…

Roger This worked perfectly and I feel a bit embarrassed that I didn't think to try it. Thanks again Roger for your incredibly fast response, you are awesome!
-
This is what I was missing, thanks Netlogix!

The "save a script" option in the integration module saves locally to the machine you are browsing from (not to the remote NCM server). Does that clarification help at all? I don't think that helps me. If that is the case, it's trying to save to a location that doesn't exist and it won't let me choose the location and…
