Perfect, thanks for getting back to me on this jiri.tomek!
-
Awesome, I would love to see that resolved!

Thanks for the compliment on the Avatar! While this isn't exactly the solution for what I am trying to accomplish it gave me some ideas on how to solve a different problem I was facing so it was still helpful. I ended up figuring out my answer... What I wanted was a way to seutp a single SNMP Trap Alert Rule that would…

That is awesome! So to take it a step further is it possible to have some sort of action take place at a specified interval as long as the state variable is in a specified state? For example: Email me every 30 minutes as long as state variable = down?

I just responded to the email address Susan provided; we are absolutely interested in this!

We are running on Orion NPM v10.2.2. Your explanation makes sense and I have seen this behavior before in previous versions of Orion. More than anything else I just wanted to make sure that this isn't some thing that I should be worried about.
-
I would really like to see that feature so feel free to sign me up for it! This would allow me to use URL's in custom properties to link to Run Book documentation for each node.

That worked perfectly ekis, thanks for the help!

Awesome, thanks aLTeReGo!

Perfect, thanks for the info!

You may want to see the following thread...

I had actually already looked in that documentation and was unable to find the specific data I was looking for. If that data does exist in there can you point me to the specific pages? The best I was able to find id that it looks like it is configurable, it just doesn't specify to what level. In the case of my customer…

Found it. Had to chose Get_Next instead of get table. Yes, you are correct in that you can't create a guage for a table. As for setting thresholds for guages, what exactly do you mean? Do you want an alert when the value goes above or below a specified level?

So, if a system that already has the agent is being replicated (essentially cloned) it will already have the certificate and an ID so how will LEM handle that system trying to connect; will it see it as the same system as before or will it see it as a different system? If the original (source) system is still online…

Pacetti This is cool, I didn't know this was possible. Is there any way to get that information into a transform results window? Currently we use a lot of UnDP's but the results we display are all based on transformed results.

I just had this happen on a bunch of nodes after upgrading to APM 4.0.1. I just opened a support ticket so hopefully they will be able to help me. Unfortunately this issue is almost impossible to detect and it caused us to miss a critical issue over the weekend.
-
Have you manually verified that the information you are trying to collect is available via SNMP, if so you should be able to collect it with a UnDP, if not you will likely need to use Orion APM to collect this information.

Thanks CourtesyIT; I would love to provide feedback. I just emailed katieb and let her know.

It turns out that this was a result of the to services SolarWinds Collector Data Processor and SolarWinds Collector Polling Controller not starting. I had to open a support ticket with SolarWinds from which I received an almost instant response (nice jot SolarWinds!). Turns out I had corruption in one or both of my…

Mcbridea This is a great document but as you suggested, a bit more basic than what I am looking for. This document is labeled "Volume 1", maybe I am looking for "Volume 2"? = )

Thanks Brandon! Unfortunately thus far this one hasn't seen much support. I am beginning to wonder if we are in the minority in that we use Orion in a multi-tenant environment, are there not many other SolarWinds customers doing this?
-
Brandon Thanks for this. I had read this but am now under the impression that something else may cause it to happen as well. The reason that I believe this is that our system has done at least two (yesterday) network baselines on it's own, no restart, no human intervention of any kind.

Andy When talking uptime or downtime a much more sensitive calculation is expected in the industry, being able to see if you meet the "five 9's" in a given year for example. Is this grainular level of availability calculations not possible in Orion? This is a good document to see what kind of measurements are necessary...…

This is exactly the type of stuff I was looking to hear, thanks for the feedback! I am planning to configure our LEM system to let us know when accounts are locked out. I am also very interested in the configuration change and file audit stuff that I see in LEM; however, I haven't really been able to completely figure it…

Well, disabling UAC did the job and it would seem that no other changes were necessary. Thanks for this advice! I don't think that giving Network Services full admin acces should be necessary and I would stronly recomend against it if at all possible. Wouldn't just Read or even Modify access be enough? Can a SolarWinds…
-
Instead of completely disabling UAC, aren't there security policy options you can change so that this will work with UAC still enabled?
-
We are working on some network changes, as soon as I have a chance to try this stuff out I will let you know how it turns out, thanks for the prompt responses!

Roger First I need to tell you how much I love the "Submit A Technical Support Ticket" button that you have, that's awesome! I did open a support ticket on this when I was seeing the problem specifically for WMI components (now it's more than just WMI), the support person had me go through a process that completely…

If you are using NPM and SAM, then NPM has a Syslog service running on the sever as part of the normal configuration. At this point all you need to do is configure your Sun/Linux systems to forward their logs to your Orion server. Once that is finished you should be able to go to Message Center in the Orion WebUI and see…

It is open and I voted for it. You should vote for you own idea also.
