Thanks for adding it as a feature request, though I would personally classify this as a bug fix unless you intend for it to function this way. This is a bit of a disappointment.

Are your customers logging in to the Solarwinds web portal to see these statistics? If they are you can create a custom interface property and then apply an account limitation based on that custom property. If I recall correctly, you can have a node limitation, a interface limitation and then a volume limitation applied to…

I personally always use the solarwinds.net/.../ticket which works fine. I will mention that it's really hit and miss with their support. Either I get great support right away or I end up waiting for weeks for any resonable response at all as I am currently doing with a ticket right now. This is why I prefer the forums and…

Ok, I ended up talking to SolarWinds Support. I found that you can bulk Unmanage and then Remanage all of your applications and it does update the poll time like a Poll Now would do albeit a bit of an overkill but it's really the only way to accomplish this in bulk.

Byron, ping me on Monday on this further, I need to connect to my system and am not VPN'd in and investigate further. Ping! = )
-
Thanks, that did the trick. Not sure why I didn't see it there when I looked before... must be getting old.
-
Yeah, I have seen the behavior you mention as well. Further investigation of this problem has revealed that it wasn't at the time of our network maintenance as originally suspected. It was in the middle of the night when (as best I can tell) nothing unusual was going on.
-
Er, left hand side that is.
-
Thanks, this is exactly the level of information I was looking for. Until you read the "Scalability" section in the manual it isn't nearly as obvious how robust and scalable this product is. It's also nice to see that you don't have to license each of the different appliances in your stack separately. This all certainly…

Mav Is it still necessary to do a special backup of the Web configuration using the tool?
-
Thanks, I am glad that my understanding is accurate; 1st time for everything! = ) Sorry for the sales pitch, but have you considered Failover Engine? Yes, we are actually licensed for it and I am thinking of dropping it from maintenance. After all I have read about it I am not sure the extra complexity and expense that it…

Metrics based on data from the UnDP is probably the big one right now as just about any data point I need I could get with that. Of course I say this now but I am sure as new thigns come up my needs will change, however; for now I am going to go with UnDP. Thanks for the pompt resposne and also asking for my input, you…

Well, all of the stuff I am looking for is available in Profiler, I was just curious if any of that was coming to NPM. Things I would like to see are Disk Usage, CPU, IOPS, etc. We use NetApp as our storage system and they do have tools to see this data (though not the best tools) and I would prefer to get this data into…

Nope, no upgrade. This has been happening for several nights now. I am not exactly sure when it started, probably since we upgraded to version 10... so I guess it could be associated with that upgrade.

bootneck1111 No, additional pollers will be an additional cost. Unlimited SAM is only unlimited for that specific polling engine and actually does have limitations based on total throughput.
-
Borgan is correct; however when you are figuring capacity I was told that you also need to take your UnDP's into account as well. I was told to use the right-hand number of the Statistic Polling Index on the Polling Engine page when figuring maximum capacity for a polling engine.
-
I understand how to configure the statistic retention period. What I want to understand are the specifics of the algorithm used when the consolidation takes place.

I just switched back to use IE from FireFox. IE9 with the hardware acceleration is incredibly fast compared to the other browsers I have tried and generally more stuff is compatible with it.

Brandon Today was my first experience working with the Connect Now capabilities of Network Atlas and things didn't work as I would have expected. Since all of my nodes were added to NPM pre-Orion v10, I went ahead and grabbed all of the IP address of my nodes from the Nodes table in the database. I then added all of those…

I think this would be a cool feature as well. I would have it create one guage for each phase and just like the line graph, I would have an option to turn each phase on or off in the edit menu.
-
Thanks ctlswadmin for the help on this! I run my web services on an additional web server so that shouldn't be an issue. Once I do this will all of the nodes that were on the original engine be automatically assigned to the new engine?
-
Well, that is a start. All I have so far for NetApp is a UnDP for CPU and Volume(s) utilization.
-
Thanks for your respone. I would be curious to know what you do with Syslog? Do you use the Orion tools for this or do you use other tools as well? We currently do some Syslog monitoring but I would love to hear what you are doing, thanks again!
-
I should be available next week to discuss. Let me know if you had some dates/times in mind, thanks!

, you suggest using Windows File Auditing, does LEM not have something similar for Linux? Is this a specific connector or just a set of rules used to watch for specific events... or a combination of the two. Basically I am interested in how I would configure this so I can test it out. Thanks in advance for helping out with…

That is what I needed though I have a few follow-up questions based on that document... * The Auto-Split feature sounds like it's just applicable for determining where logs will be stored and isn't applicable for Filters that will be used for actions such as email alerts, is this correct? * The document suggests that at…

I would prefer it be part of LEM. SIEM & FIM are joined at the hip as far as I am concerned and only having to deal with one agent for both would be preferable. To me they belong in the same space. Our company is in the process of selecting a FIM to pair with a SIEM to create a complete solution for compliant cloud…

I think that will work if you are running an IaaS DC in Azure yes, but in my scenario I an running AAR or Azure AD PaaS in which case as best I can tell this doesn't work.
-
No, I haven't found what I would consider a solution. When this happens I start by trying to restart the agent service on the node and see if that fixes the problem. If that doesn't work I go into control panel, find the Agent (make sure you view by icons) and re-enter the Orion server information which seems to re-sync…

Interesting concepts. I am glad you mentioned the Incident Action because I had never really noticed that before. Now that you mentioned it I was able to go check it out and see how it correlates to those alerts in the taxonomy. LEM has so many clever concepts that are not immediately obvious. I would love to sit in a room…
