Picture is worth a thousand words; I am talking about this fella here...
-
Ah, at least it's not me. Thanks for the quick response. As I noted in a different thread, I think this would be a great method for Account Limitations going forward and would allow you (SolarWinds) to deprecate the old Account Limitation system and move it all into the WebUI... assuming it is fixed. I will look forward to…
-
I am not sure what area you are talking about, this is for the Network Configuration Manager for which I am unaware of an Admin area for the web interface.
-
Yeah, I am seeing the same thing. A blast of old digested posts... so maybe a burp? = )
-
This is very interesting, it would seem this table(view) pulls data from a table that was used for the old alert manager before moving to the web. In cases where the alert was changed after migrating to the web based alert manager you may get results showing a custom property existing in an old alert but doesn't exist in…

I don't have good comparisons between the agent and SNMP as we choose to go with the agent from the start. What I can say is that for the most part the agent has been very solid and I plan to continue using it more and more.
-
You will need to configure a connector in LEM for TripWire.
-
Also, as a side note I thought you might find it interesting that in talking with TripWire, they seem much more interested in selling their TW Enterprise product than their Log Management product. This seems like a great opportunity for SolarWinds and LEM assuming the integration with the connector works well.
-
We have setup TripWire Enterprise in a lab environment as a demo and have done the same with LEM for the sake of testing integration. As you have suggested, I have gone ahead and configured the TripWire Enterprise connector on my LEM Appliance and I also found a place in TripWire Enterprise where I was able to configure it…

I am on NPM 11.0.1, SAM 6.1.1 and IVIM 1.11.0. I am still on a version that uses the old Advanced Alert Manager; not web based yet.
-
We are not running ColdFusion and I am also running FireFox as my browser. I did test IIE to see if the problem was somehow FireFox related and I still experienced the performance problems. As a side note I also tested Chrome which doesn't work at all for NCM.
-
Wow, thanks for digging that up for me, I really appreciate it!
-
Sweet, thanks! I felt a tremor in the force and got worried that some planet in a galaxy far far away had been destroyed... again!
-
Thanks for checking it out, it sounds like you went through a process similiar to me and made many of the assumptions that I did. The part that really confuses me is that it's required that you fill that out for a company.
-
I have had to do that exact process after several upgrades that I have done, it seems like a common problem.
-
Ok, I have done as you suggested and added the 2nd interface of the node as an External Node and then assigned my application template to the node. The problem is that when I go to the node in NPM, the node view doesn't show anything other than the "Node Detail" element. I don't see the the "Applicaitons" element that I…

Thanks for the response. This is a less than favorable solution. Going forward having an option to assign it to an IP other than the primary system IP would be preferable. This would make it so that I don't have to populate my system with Psudo-Nodes. I am picturing an option in the application or component to "override…
-
Well, to be honest when I first read it I thought it was an intriguing idea, however; I wasn't sure I was properly picturing what you had in mind or that I fully understood what you were really looking for. This kinda sounds like a more device specific view, in this case for switches, is my understanding correct?
-
I think I understand what Donald is talking about here and it's difficult to describe in specifics... and Donald, please correct me if I am not understanding correctly... Basically the Security Profiles that he refers to is the ability to have different sets of events that when correlated together would represent a…
-
stuartwhyte I agree that one of my main concerns is that too small of a poller won't cover enough. One idea would be to run with the 100 element idea but let people stack it so if you need 250 elements you could just get 3 of the 100 element pollers and stack them.

This report isn't something that was created in the report writer. This report is one of my dashboards that I point the report scheduler at with a URL.

Hey nicole pauls, what specifically are the capabilities of LEM with regard to netflow/sflow? Is this documented somewhere?
-
Thanks gdoch! At this point I think I have what I need to cobble a solution together. I will reach back out if I run into any problems getting my solution to work. Thanks again!
-
We send Orion for an SSL for our web server. I found the easiest way to do it was putting a redirect site directly in IIS.
-
Exactly what I was looking for; thanks mesverrum!
-
Yeah, I saw that. I was just curious if any options existed now. I am not familiar with the DPA product but I am working working with a customer that asked about Orion integration and I wasn't sure if anything currently existed for that.
-
Awesome, thanks for the reply! This is exactly the type of explanation I was looking for.
-
nicole pauls I may have asked this before and I apologize if I have but how is a distributed LEM environment licensed? Do you only need to license the total number of nodes logging to the solution or do you need to license each LEM appliance in the solution? If you have some documentation or white papers on this I would be…
-
Thanks for the info again Nicole! This was kind of building off my earlier inquiry regarding Threat Intelligence Feeds. I was hoping to manage multiple appliances from a single location so that I can add data to groups that I have created (known bad IP's as an example) on multiple LEM appliances. Doing it from one console…

Thanks for the response. I have been going through and taking note of where all of my numbers are at now so I can compare after the changes are made.
