  • Well, I could certainly try this. How exactly would I configure it to trigger on a specific number of violations over a specific time period?
  • We are a managed service provider and my requirement is to provide logs to clients. The best way I can figure to do this is to use a UDG where I capture all of the clients systems and then do a scheduled search against that UDG as the Detection IP list and have it email that to the client. This in addition to my other…
  • Also, I might suggest that since SolarWinds relies on Net-SNMP for Linux monitoring, perhaps SolarWinds should try and put some pressure on the Net-SNMP group to resolve that issue.... or even provide some development cycles to the project to help get it resolved (I am pretty sure it's a community supported project).
  • I did do an snmpwalk against the drive OID's in the HOST-RESOURCE-MIB and the values that I got were the same ones that Orion is reporting so this does confirm a problem with Net-SNMP (as I was pretty sure it was already) however; the values it's reporting are not negative values. When I get a chance I will have my Linux…
  • So to confirm I understand what you are saying, if my SQL Server uses Mixed Mode authentication and the account I am using to access SQL is a Windows account that has been configured inside SQL then I need to set that check box? Things are working right now, I just see those errors in the logs so I am curious what exactly…
  • I just ran the following query... SELECT T.Name, CTS.[Key], CTS.Value, CTS.ValueType FROM APM_ApplicationTemplate T JOIN APM_ComponentTemplate CT ON T.ID = CT.ApplicationTemplateID JOIN APM_ComponentTemplateSetting CTS ON CT.ID = CTS.ComponentTemplateID WHERE CTS.[Key] = 'WindowsAuthentication' In all cases…
  • LOL Okay Brandon, I give up! I keep trying on this NPM storage angle but am not getting anywhere. I guess I will just tell my engineers that if they want more storage info that they can use the lame NetApp interface or pony up some $$$ for Profiler. Thanks for getting back to me on this!
  • Any updates on this?
  • We have that exact setup here and it works perfectly. I also find that having the Web Server on a different system significantly increases performance.
  • We had a support ticket, it was close and we were told we would be put in contact with a Sales Engineer. Support Ticket #671581
  • We tried going through that process and we were told they were going to get us in-touch with a Sales Engineer and then we were left hanging. We have a limited time for the evaluation and we are having problems receiving support for this.
  • Because we are an evaluation we aren't able to save the map; however, below is the response we received from the Arista... Here's the result of walking 1.3.6.1.2.1.17.7.1.4.2 on one of the Arista's. Those are the VLAn's on there. SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.17.7.1.4.2.1.3.0.1 = Gauge32: 1 SNMPv2-SMI::mib-2.17.7.1.4.2.1.3.0.93 =…
  • In addition to getting me the OID please provide specific instructions on how to test to verify if this is the case or not, thanks!
  • Correct We can see the VLAN information on the Arista node; however, it does not show up on the VLAN report.
  • Thanks nicole pauls for the insight into what you guys have been thinking of, it's always nice to hear even if it isn't fully baked yet! I personally wouldn't want to go with any option that would have any significant negative impact on the performance of LEM. The crux of the problem and the issue I was trying to help…
  • That's awesome, thanks for sharing that info msteinvertifi! If that really is all there is to it then it doesn't seem unreasonable for SolarWinds to be able to accommodate my feature request HERE and create a product supported way of doing this.
  • Your Inherit from Node suggestion is really a variation on the existing Inherit from Template implementation but from a different perspective. However, your suggestion does beg the question, why was APM implemented with the Inherit from Template feature from the start. It actually makes sense to inherit the credentials…
  • Thanks for the clarification aLTeReGo!
  • This can be done today with the Advanced Alert Manager though we'll take this feature request under consideration for a future release. Yeah, that is how we are doing it today; however that lacks the nice graphical representation on the maps as well as the ability to have only one component critical alert that…
  • Okay, at some point here we have moved beyond "yeah, they could have done a better job" to just straight up negligence.
  • kellytice thanks for the quick response. From a workflow perspective do you see any issues it would cause if such a feature were to be implemented? I don't want to submit a feature request if there is something obvious I am missing that it might break.
  • I figured I would get asked that question. We are a service provider and have customers that are interested in the capabilities that we can provide with VMAN. If VMAN doesn't support multi-tenancy then my only other option is multiple VMAN's.
  • This is happening again so I just opened support case #197968.
  • Well, I watched it over the course of at least 30 minutes on both APM and with Windows Task Manager and according to Task Manager it was always very low and according to APM it was at the same High CPU the entire time. I confirmed that APM was looking at the correct PID. I did grab screenshots of it all and restarting the…
  • You know we have another product that does just that Byron :) I know, but sadly I don't have that product and am in a situation where I need to make the most of what I have now. In a perfect world I would own the entire SolarWinds buffet. With a bit of elbow grease I think I should be able to do a reasonable job of getting…

  • Unfortunately those alerts don't work in this situation because the node is being polled, there just isn't any data being collected. The "Alert me when a managed node has not been polled" alerts focus on the last poll time being stale which isn't the case here.
  • If you go to Settings -> License Details you should see much of this info there. What don't you see that you would like to see? In the License Details it really only shows the different versions of installed software for my Primary system, it doesn't show the versions of software for my Additional Poller (Only the core…
  • I have had problems with the native Orion NPM Syslog functionality as well. The built in Syslog component is by no stretch of the imagination an Enterprise syslog solution. Here is a thought... What if the Syslog component was removed from Native Orion NPM and re-developed (or re-develop Kiwi Syslog) as a module for Orion…
  • I also would love to be able to edit and configure the scale for the graphs created using the UnDP. Basically, if SolarWinds could implement the same or similiar graphing capabilities/flexibilities as I have with RRD I would be a happy fella!
  • Is it still true that with LEM you are unable to store even raw logs if yo don't have a connector? If that is the case it seems that this puts LEM at a significant disadvantage when compared to other products on the market.
