  • I think this feature would be awesome. This type of thing has been requested many times before in the form of alerts based on a percent change or based on a tolerance level.
  • Thanks, that wasn't where I would have expected it!
  • Can you tell if the node went into warning at that time and fast polling? I wonder if we have a potential bug to fix. What is your "Node Warning Level" set to? 120? Unfortunately I don't know if the node went into a warning at that time. Our "Node Warning Level" is set to 120.
  • I was afraid that is how it was being done. Would it be possible for you to provide me the query that is being used to generate this?
  • I am also seeing this issue with both agent and non-agent nodes. The strange thing about it is my Polling Engine has plenty of unused memory.
  • Uhh.. Hello? Is this really that strange of a request or is it something so simple that its not worthy of a reply? Given how proliferate Solarwinds products are I would have thought these forums were more active. Firstly, these forums are incredibly active; however, this in no way guarantees that any particular post will…
  • fluffy midnight as best I an tell checking those incoming emails as you have suggested doesn't help because those have already been processed. I have been able to re-create this issue and it doesn't seem to happen when I send it to other people using a standard email client.
  • Unfortunately as fluffy midnight has suggested, this will not work. The issue is with incoming emails and this setting is for outgoing emails.
  • Byron, shoot me an email so I can get the log file, but also send me the specs of the box you are running on etc. Email sent. What ever conclusions we come to via email outside of Thwack I will be sure to post back here.
  • Hi Denny, thats great news - it was one of the things that I thought was kind of silly - very glad to hear that this has been cleared up. One question on this - how about the additional website viewer? One thing that is annoying is that everytime I take down the main server for maintenance - even though the polling engine…
  • You may also want to check out our Application Performance Monitor product or APM, here are a couple please for more info http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/application_monitor/ http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/Apm/Summary.aspx Yes, Brandon makes a good point. We currently use APM to collect this data and it…
  • aLTeReGo thanks for the super fast response. So, if a system with the agent already installed is being replicated (essentially cloned) then when it comes on it will have the same GUID and report as the exact same system? If that is the case would you have any suggestions on how to make it report in as a different system…
  • Crap; that information isn't showing up in my Audit Log. I was working with a co-worker earlier today who did a service restart through Orion and it doesn't show up there at all. Thoughts?
  • I had a bad feeling you were going to tell me that. Any plans to add that to SAM?
  • Sean I am goign to have to get a bit upset about this as I was very specifically told the following by two different SolarWinds employees... "When determining the need for a different poller using the 8k - 10k limit you need to look at the SNMP Statistic Polling Index number as this takes the UnDP's into consideration as…
  • I did talk to support about this and they indicated that the development team was aware of these issues.
  • Thanks for sharing this, I was having this same issue and if I had not found your post I would have ended up calling support.
  • Ah, thanks! We are using a Fortinet controller and AP's.
  • bmallon well I went to vote for it only to find that I had already voted for it.
  • aLTeReGo I am not on those versions, I am still running on NPM 12.0.1 and SAM 6.3.0. If the 1.7 version of the Agent addresses this issue do you know if it addresses the issue where Agent nodes often report as Down and then Up again even though they were never down? Or the issue where if I reboot my polling engine that…
  • Ah, that did help a lot, thanks much! To make sure I understand... The Alert Suppression is completely independent of the Alert Trigger, if anything in the database matches the Alert Suppression the alert will not trigger?
  • Could you change the logic to where snmpTrapEnterrpise is equal to COMPAQ-ID-REC-MIB:compaq and snmpTrapOID is not equal to cpqSeUSBSorageDeviceAttached and snmpTrapOID is not equal to cpqSeUSBStorageDeviceRemoved you come up with some good one's byron :} I think this might be working, thanks so much!
  • I just now reconfigured it as you suggestd and will see if it helps, thanks for the suggestion. I think my problem is the "any" at the top, I think I need it to be an "all" instead, unfortunately that isn't an option.
  • bshopp wrote: We have asked this question before in surveys, but not gotten a ton of feedback on. I guess in this case I would be curious about who the Toolset are? Are they folks where Toolset is their only SW product or are they people using it in support of their Orion environments like me? I am guessing that the folks…
  • planglois wrote: IMO, this tool should be either provided NC to NPM Users, as a tool to support their evergrowing environment I want to agree with this, that it should either be included with any of the Orion products and/or become a free tool such as Alert Central. I would (as it sounds like others do) even like the…
  • what about alerts and traps FROM devices The Hot Standby Engine backs up SNMP polling. Listener services like syslog and traps can't be backed up in the same way. If ensuring continuity for syslogs and traps (and possibly NetFlow), the solution many customers use is to direct those services to a second IP address and…
  • Thanks for your reply though it makes me feel even worse about the issue than I already was as it sounds like a much bigger issue than I had originally thought. We also just sunk a bunch of money into this product for a very large project that we are working on. We are pretty much supposed to be going live with this…
  • Yeah, I have found on 2k8 that once you create a report, any changes you want to make to it's schedule needs to be done through the Windows Scheduler. SW relies on the Windows Scheduler and their development has not caught up to the changes that were made in 2k8.
  • I don't need the auditing, I just need to capture the logs, for example in our case they are the ones located at the following path... /data/pgsql/DATABASE/pg_log/postgresql-2014-MM-DD.log
  • jeff.stewart we are also seeing packet loss similiar to others but are unable to verify that packet loss anywhere. Also when I look at the NetPath Packet Loss graph (which you need to add as it isn't there by default) it doesn't show any packet loss. Thoughts?
