Ah, I am using APM 3.5 so that must be my problem. I will be upgrading to APM 4.0 next week so I will see if that resolves my problem, thanks!

However, they almost included all that functionality already in NCM,NPM, APM. They could have chosen just to make what was there better. One of SolarWinds big selling points used to be that you didn't need to purchase a lot of modules to flesh out functionality. Now what are they going to say that will set them apart from…

Firstly, yes this should be in the APM forums. Brandon could you or one of the community managers move it there? Secondly, yes I am using the APM SNMP template, specifically for polling data from my CRAC units and reporting things such as temp and humidity, aside from an Orion software bug early on, I have not had any…

I seem to be experiencing a variation of this problem. On two of my ESXi hosts I keep getting the Bad Credentials error. When I go to assign credentials and do the test, it comes back good but then if I go and do a Poll Now, the credentials come back bad. If I go and look at the events log on the ESXi host it shows the…

I did see that the connector was available to mix and match so I was actually thinking that would be a good solution. I am concerned that doing a per customer install of Tripwire Log Center would be less cost effective than LEM considering you need to also license a Windows OS as well as SQL.

I just uploaded a report HERE that should give you what you are looking for. You can embed this report in the node view so when you go to a node you can see the installed software. Might want to create a separate left nav tab for it though.
-
You can also use the Universal Device Poller that is part of the Orion NPM to poll the Cisco IP SLA information, it likely won't be as pretty or as well formatted as the in the VoIP module but you can get the data that way as well.

Assuming that you don't have anything in the Alert Suppression tab, your Trigger Action is setup correctly, and the alert is enabled; I would guess that this should work just fine as it's very similar to what I have setup. Is it just not generating alerts or is it sending out incorrect alerts?
-
Having polling set to every 5 minutes and alert evaluation set to every 6 minutes should not cause a problem. When you received the 5 SMS messages, was there only one alert triggered for one device?
-
Hrm, from a quick look I would guess that this would work as you want but I have been wrong about this kind of thing before. A few things that might help... 1) Grab the actual SQL query out of the Alert Definition table in the database and post it for review on this thread. 2) Set it all up as you want it but only send…

I have my alert set for only drives where the type is "Fixed Disk".

My apologies, I didn't intend to suggest that this wouldn't be a nice feature to have, I was just attempting to submit a different approach on the matter that is supportable with the current implementation which has worked well for us. There is certainly a valid use case for functionality that allows users to create their…

My variables are as follows... Subject: Disk 90% Utilized Alert: ${NodeName} Message: ${NodeName} Volume ${Caption} Utilization 90% or Greater: ${VolumePercentUsed} Customer Name: ${Node.CustomerName} CustID: ${Node.CustomerID} Escalation Path: ${Node.Escalation_Path} The bottom three variables are all custom properties…

Not sure if it's wroth noting or not but we do have over 300 agents deployed.

Thanks for that information aLTeReGo, in the many cases where I have seen this happen it's definitely not a case of cloning and duplicate SID/hostnames. The nodes are just running fine then something happens (not sure what) and the next thing I know I have a node that is still getting data-collections but is being…

A few different ideas come to mind on how this could be done at a very high level with Green/Yellow/Red lights. You can use the groups feature that was implemented in version 10.1 grouping your systems and applications in such a way as to represent the different systems and servers as they pertain to your business. You can…

I have a similar alert for a NetApp where I have multiple UnDP's that the alert looks at in the Trigger Condition, the only variable I use is ${CustomPollerStatus.Status} which if I recall will only note the status of the specific poller that caused the alert to trigger. As best I can tell when you are using multiple…

I am on SP2, I haven't yet seen a new servce pack but I have heard mention of an SP3. Is there an official SP3 that I should be using and if so where can I get it?
-
I am not sure what you mean when you say "this whole thread is false". The Correct Answer noted for the thread indicates that it isn't possible just as you indicated.
-
Awesome, glad you have it working!
-
I did create a feature request a while back to allow the changing of a node status as an alert action, you can see that feature request HERE and comment on it if you would like that functionality as well.
-
This is normal behavior.

I am also very interestd in seeing the "Multiple Pollers" in one graph. I came from a monitoirng system that used RRD similiar to Cacti and it's a very useful capability to have.

On that chart you posted the blue line is the average. If I am not mistaken it's called a ribbon chart, the green line represents the range of min and max and the blue line is the average. I am referring to pretty much any APM resource that has statistical data.

can it monitor NIC bandwidth usage (receive, transmit), errors, discards, current connections, uptime, etc? Yes, it should discover interfaces like on any other device. One thing to note: We found that the bandwidth data on our Foritgate VLAN's was incorrect, when we contacted Fortinet about this we were informed that it…

Just to clarity, I am not suggesting that have alarms can can trigger based off other alarms is a bad idea, I think it's a really good idea. I am just trying to help figure out ways to solve your problems with the product in it's current state. Hopefully I have been of some help.

To resolve the vacation issue you mention you could use mailing lists instead of specific peoples email addresses. This would allow you to quickly change the email list to direct where emails are going. In general this is a better way to go so that you can generally avoid updating a bunch of alerts when staff changes,…

Well, we have installed several updates provided by SW today so I am going to watch it and see if it continues to be a problem; I will remain cautiously optimistic. If I find the problem continues to exist I will open a support ticket as well and in doing so I will reference your ticket number.

Not really what I am lookin for. If I have to do all the leg work, create the views , make the custom pollers, find the MIBs, use trial and error to try to prove I have the right figures and do this for each each platform etc etc etc... I might as well go get MRTG and not pay anything. I understand and I think that there…

We are looking at the DB table for pollers last sync Which table in the DB is this in? I am looking in the Engines table and don't see it there.
