Maybe somebody from SolarWinds could give us some insight into the maddness behind this grouping logic. Wink! Wink! Or perhaps they will allow me to continue to teeter on the brink of insanity.

So has this always been an issue because I don't recall noticing it before and I do recall being told (a very long time ago) that the re-discovery process re-mapped the drive indices so this wouldn't happen?
-
aLTeReGo, thanks! That is exactly the level of info I needed to take back to management.

I have not been able to find any info suggesting this is a problem other than references to the specific error message with suggestions on what to do when they occur. The specific device that we have this problem on is a very old device that has been end-of-lifed by Cisco so it may just be a problem due to the vintage of…

What kind of a polling interval are you using and do your switches (assuming there are some switches in there) have a lot of interfaces that you are collecting data on? Just curious to get some more specific data as to what exactly you are doing? What I was noticing is that changing the polling interval to much less…

Setting up a threshold for this is fairly easy to do. Go into your Advanced Alert Manager and create a new Alert. Under Trigger Condition choose the Property to Monitor as Custom Node Poller. Then when you build the condition you should have the option to specify Poller Name is equal to "Name of Your Poller". After that…

Awesome, thanks for your feedback!

I tried that, I also tried typing it in. I am still getting the same error. I also tried all of your suggestions in both FireFox and IE.

Is the custom html resource unique on a per node basis?
-
Ah, ok. I can definitely agree with the "really, really wrong" part. Thanks for the followup!

Hello, unfortunately Windows 2008/Vista/7 event logs structure is not supported. You can still access standard windows logs (Application, Security, System) but logs in "Applications and Services Logs" are not accessible using method that APM uses. Main problem is that API to access those logs is not available on Windows…
-
thamizh85 you are aware that Orion has an API correct? The API fully supports the adding and removal of nodes.

Hi byron-- I'll mark for Brandon to review. M Thanks Marie! I have also opened a ticket on this and will be sure to post anything I find from that avenue as well.
-
I have this problem as well, I opened a support ticket on it back in February and the last response I received indicated that it was a confirmed bug. Below is my ticket information along with the last response I have received, I have still not received an ETA on the fix. Case #143766 - "Report Writer: Reports in the webUI…

After spending a LOT of time working with support on this case it came down to a few things as follows: * Expectations* You need to make sure to have reasonable expectations on how long searches will take. If there are a lot of different compressed files it needs to open to complete the search then it may take a really…

Yeah, I actually have my timeout set to 30 minutes and the histogram never gets to the point of drawing anything out. More and more I think my issue may be related to Storage IOP's and Latency issues. What I wouldn't give to move this appliance to some SSD storage. With that being said, I certainly hope there are some…

Would it be possible to have somebody there verify my findings on this so I can be sure?
-
Did this get depreciated because I am running 6.1.0 and I don't have a NetApp connector under Operating Systems. I need to know the best way to get NetApp logs into LEM.
-
Sweet, thanks!

What I think would be nice is being able to install an Orion update on the platform system and then have all of the pollers auto-magically pick up and install the updates from the platform system. I know I taking an over simplified view of things when suggesting this but as a user it would really be nice.
-
I don't suppose in the more current verions there is now a way to do this? Having multiple guages in one element would be very nice but I am not really willing to jump into the code to make it happen.
-
Well, I may have solved this problem. It seems that under the resources option on several of these nodes the CPU & Memory option was not selected for some reason. I will have to go through and verify this on all of these nodes but I think this may be the culprit. Not sure how this didn't get selected on some but did on…

I suppose I should also note that I am getting other SNMP data from that node so I know SNMP is working in that regard.
-
Hrm, that's not the way it was explained. If I add a suppression to rule 2 & 4 that says the following... Node equal to Node #5 Application equal to HTTP Application status equal to Down This will cause any alert that would be triggered by the Trigger Conditions to get ignored if the above statement is true hence disabling…

I was just able to verify that all of those OID's are responding with values on one of the devices where these gauges are not appearing. Thoughts?
-
The following process (performed on the primary NPM system, not additional pollers) is what SolarWinds support provided me and this seemed to resolve the issue. It seems that it's possible for the job queue to get corrupted. This process replaces the job queue and resets all polling. I had to re-install both of the…

No, they all use the same view with an account limitation making it so they only see their stuff. This has been working fine for years until now.
-
Ah, that explains the inclusion of that fix even though it's not supported. Have you been able to confirm that it still sees FireFox 4 as a Mobile device even after the upgrade?
-
Roger Thanks so much for this information, this is exactly what I needed. You Rock!

The only conclusion I came to was that my Mac at home works. There isn’t anything special about my work system that would make it any different than any other Windows system running IE or FireFox.
