So then every year, when a new Purchase Order gets created, every Contract Asset would need to be update (removed from the prior PO and added to the new PO). I suppose that would work, but it would be a lot of work to make it work :-) And there still wouldn't be any relationship between the Contract and any assets that are…

I have seen the announcement, just wondering why it isn't in the Featured Post (since past RC have been). Seems inconsistent, and I would like to be kept apprised of when the actual product is available, and wondering IF it will be posted in Featured Postings?

I agree with nathanseaton. That would be nice. We use both Jamf Casper (for computers) and Meraki (for mobile devices). The Casper connection works well for assets. It would be really nice if the same could be done with Meraki for all our iPads and Android devices (about 3,000). Currently, we import spreadsheets for these…

Does the Approver need to be a licensed Tech or can it be anyone? Can the approval be done via email, or does the Approver need to Sign In to the portal?
-
It is easy to do, but I would also recommend that if you are doing a LOT (more than 100), I would scan the Asset Tag# and Serial Number into a spreadsheet and then import that information into WHD. It will be much quicker. That is how we updated our inventory this past summer when we purchased 2000 iPads.

We are using Jamf Casper and have OS Version mapped to the field Version in WHD / Assets. I would like to do a Report though (Report button), and in Reports, there is no place to select Version in a Bar Category, or Pie Category. There are some 'strange' choices (ie Discovery Connection), but I would really like to see…

That really isn't a solution. We have been doing that on our iPads (which isn't too bad), but we NEED Notifications. We need notifications (which the app at least gave) We would like to scan barcodes (which the app didn't do either but sure would be extremely useful) To Search for Asset To Inventory (set Audit Date)

I guess I am lost on this report (as to the value or how to interpret the information). The bar chart shows the Average Open Time this month for each "Technician". "Assigned" average between 1 hour and 35 hours. Does that mean the Tickets were in the state of "Assigned" for that length of time? Canceled times range from 10…

So you say "an updated and closed problem ticket can update, close and inform all incident tickets". Does that mean whatever is done to the Problem Ticket happens to all the associated Incident Tickets as well? Can you modify an individual Incident ticket that is associated with a Problem ticket? thank you for the reply
-
I guess I never tried to create a ticket with no client. Didn't know you could do that. Interesting approach. So, if you create a Problem Ticket, then assign 'past' incidents to it, what if a Tech has already closed the 'past' incident? Will the "problem" ticket then re-open the 'closed' incident that was added? Also, does…

Let me know if I am wrong, but I cannot copy/paste from Preview into a FAQ in WHD using Google Chrome (at least it is not working for me). I need to copy/paste from Preview into a Google Doc, then copy/paste from the Google Doc into a FAQ using Google Chrome. When attempting to copy/paste directly from Preview into a FAQ…

I should ask since I am here (I know I should try but I will ask anyway). Will the embedded graphics and videos be viewable to our clients in their email? Our clients do not Sign Into WHD. Everything is done via email. They submit tickets via email, the notes get sent back to them via email. The screenshots you sent are…

So it is almost there, but not quite. When I look at a ticket and click the "Link FAQ", it takes me to a new generic window, where I need to select the information I am looking for (when it should already have made that selection for me based on the Request Type of the ticket). I would also prefer the Link FAQ button NOT…

Duh… now I feel like an idiot. That was simple enough, and almost directly in my face. Thank you. We use Casper. So how would you auto change its status when it gets deleted from Casper? I know Casper will Update WHD when a change is made, but when an item is deleted, how would that update? I will look into this, but if you know off the top of your head, that would save me some time. Thank you

Are you aware if one way is more taxing on the server than the other way? Is having multiple email IDs coming in better than multiple Action Rules evaluating all incoming tickets? Or is it negligible?
-
That was it. My settings were "When Tickets are Merged" Set STatus of Child Tickets to "Open". I have now set them to "Closed". Thank you.

I don't have the path you have in your post. I get to WebHelplDesk\bin\webapps\helpdesk\WEB-INF But inside WEB-INF, I do not have Helpdesk.woa (don't have anything with Helpdesk). I only have classes DashboardPlugIns DiscoveryPlugIns Extensions jsp lib ReportPlugIns web.xml wro.properties wro.xml Where to go from here?

Did you first create a Problem Ticket? After creating the Problem Ticket, look at the ticket number. Then find all the incidents and check the boxes. At the bottom, do a bulk action and in the bulk action set the Ticket Type to Incident. Problem will now appear at the top right side. Click on the TAB and type in the…

Almost got it but not quite. End User creates a iPad App Request (so I can obtain the app and put into JAMF Self Service for students to install) End User gets the iPad App Form Review (this is the part I do not know if it can happen). The Teacher who submits the iPad App Request needs to get the Form to complete and…

You can do a Search for "Status" "is any of" and then select only those 'statuses' you want. You can eliminate the "e-waste" by not selecting it.
-
That is a nice feature. It would be even better if "Yearly" was an option. It could remind us when to renew our maintenance agreements. It could remind us to renew our SSL Certificates and Tokens. It could remind us of many yearly chores (for education that are only done in summer).
-
Are you getting inventory information from both computers and mobile devices? We have found that only computers come over, mobile devices (iPads, iPhones, Apple TVs) do not.
-
I am talking about when you initially create a Ticket. But in reference to what you are talking about, if you didn't want to CC someone, why wouldn't you remove their email address from the CC box? I would rather remove the email address instead of unchecking a box.

Mobile App 1. Filter My Tickets by Location (NOT to be confused with the capability of Search Tickets using Saved Query) 2. Create Ticket 2b. Create Ticket from bar code scanned asset 3. Use mobile camera to inventory (set Audit Date / Location / Room) 3a. Search Inventory Desktop 1. Make a "usable" Web Front End with…

Yes. I would definitely like to talk. I really like WHD, but at times it can get frustrating since it has many of the features of competing products, but just not implementing cleanly. Examples: FAQs should be clearly seen for a tech. Should NOT need to open an FAQ in a separate window and then do a search. Should be…

Would be helpful to know if anything will be done (was expecting an update last summer). We are currently evaluating other Service Desk solutions (ChangeGear, invGate, and FreshService are all looking good right now). I would like to stay with WHD, but the lack of attention given to it from Solarwinds is astounding.

So when can we expect to hear or see an update to the iOS app? Hoping for an iPhone AND a iPad app, not just an iPhone app (please). Hoping for the use of the camera (even if at the beginning to add assets to tickets).
-
So only iOS update will be to "Create a Ticket" and "Re-Assign a Ticket"? The iPhone and iPad have very nice cameras capable of scanning bar codes, why isn't Inventorying part of the iOS update? Seems like a logical choice of an update. Currently, you cannot even search for an Asset in the iOS app. How crazy is that?…
-
Hoping the iOS version of WHD will allow a Tech to create a new Ticket and scan the barcode of the Asset to add the asset to the ticket (please). Also, would be nice if iOS version would just display custom fields without requiring us to click a button to display custom fields.
