Software troubleshooting has definitely changed over the years, but the foundations those of us that have been around, forever, and have gained, are hard to translate to today's digital generation computer Tech. Lest we forget about all of the hardware generations too from Intel and AMD chip progression to SIMM, DIMM,…

That's what Minions are for, correct?

Very informative and and nice summation with good links. Thanks, BSpencer

The (computer.user = job.security) and the biggest point of failure for the security of your Network! Without a doubt, this is one of my pet peeves! No matter how much one invests into security devices, software, etc... Your security is only as good as the weakest user's knowledge. If you protect everything possible, and I…

This is a subject that will continue to define itself moving forward. The Internet of Things, (IoT), or the Internet of Everything, (IoE), refers to a device that provides Machine-to-machine (M2M) communications to provide data for some function. "At the base level, IoT is about inter-connectivity, which often breeds…

We utilize NPM, SAM, VNQM, and LEM for internal monitoring but have added Monitis for external monitoring and real-time web page load times. Needed external monitoring for DR and avoid issues with our ISP. Not too expensive and it gives us a good look at PING, Webpage load times, and other tools too. I've attached a…

Let's not forget about Standardization, Compliance, and Reporting. These are integral parts of the entire Configuration Management spectrum. NCM adds all of these plus previous items in the original post. I also like the integrated Approval System within NPM which, if implemented properly, would ensure that base device…

Rob, Having issues with the Orion Module Engine stopping sporadically without any due cause. I have performed a re-install, and a clean install but still it will stop. Restart of the service gets it back up and functional, but still it is a nuisance! Website down until service start. I have NPM, SAM, NCM, VNQM, and NE…

smiller22, Thursday you should have 7 days of data but it probably won't be truly accessible until Friday. Baseline Calculation Changing Global Capacity Forecast Customize Individual Node, Interface, Volume Forecasting It is what it is to get the Forecasting going. But with that said, once it is up and running and you are…

hear even! Or read... LOL

smiller22, How long have you been capturing the data? Node Capacity Forecasting Requirements * Orion needs at least 7 days worth of data to be able to calculate the forecast. BSpencer

mavturner wrote: bspencer63, this thread is about devices showing up as Unknown. Are you still having a problem with these devices showing up as Unknown instead of Ecessa or Astrocom? Regarding your other concerns. Our usual turn around on a MIB update is a few weeks. Can you point me to a thwack post or case number where…

It looks as if you have your lan0_0 and your wan0_0 plugged into the wrong sides on most devices. If you look at your I0-WA-2020-01 device, it is using lan0_0 in the pre and wan0_0 as the post. I am curious as to what version of the RiOS you are running? If you are running version 6, or newer, there is a Health Check…

Kurt H, Here are some pics of the Messenger Bag I have. Been using it for a while now and like it. I also have the Backpack and prefer to use each for differing reasons. Front Flap has a pocket which I use for my power cable. Plenty of room and sized pockets for lots of things. Clips and zippers are useful. The clips that…

If you are under maintenance, I would open up a support ticket and get them to take a look at it. If not, get under maintenance...LOL, but until then I would re-install NPM and/or re-configure using the Configuration Wizard which you should be able to find in your Programs listing on your NPM server. Good Luck!

superfly99, I am envious that you have had so many good support sessions without experiencing a bad one! I have had some superb sessions lately, in regards to LEM, but the other products are still lagging in response times for sure. I don't want to switch from SW since I have so much invested and am still hoping for better…

Uploaded SW Diagnostics at 9:34am yesterday and someone finally opened it up to review it about 10 minutes ago. Took a 1 1/2 days to get someone to finally take a look.

alexggolovin, You definitely don't have much historical data since the node was just added, I'd delete and re-add and you should be able to edit all the fields. If you don't want to go that way, I've never had an issue changing things as outlined by d09h You should be able to edit the fields necessary. It would only affect…

Mine does not automatically add the node it actually creates a banner on the Orion Website and asks me what I want to do. See image.

I just installed APM this week and wham, bam, thank you ma'am, it didn't come with any reports. Were there supposed to be some "canned" reports already generated with the install? If so, where are they, because I am missing them. If not, are you all planning on creating a few, or more, usable reports?
