I would recommend a support ticket to check out your logs and further investigate what is going on
-
Are you running SQL on the same box as Orion or off box and are you running SQL Server or SQL Express?
-
Can you try this out? In the Information Services Manager, please check:Performance setting – Maximum number of worker processes - on the Application Pools and on the DefaultAppPool. Booth numbers must be set to 1.
-
You can only edit the tooltips on the maps. If you click edit on the map resource in the web console you can change there
-
With 9.5 we added a new method to define a node called external for APM so you have a node to associate it to, but we don't ping it etc. so it won't show as down, but external
-
You shouldn't have to sift through the events one by one. Why not select the IP Address in question and then select to show only volume events.
-
You mean like here
-
Just to confirm, are you using the native WMI discovery in the product or are you integrated with a third party product to pull/gather this info?
-
Might be worth checking this app out to add on
-
Hey Bryan, Do you have the Orion website setup to use HTTPS? Do you have a load balancer sitting in front of the Orion server?
-
So a controller and 12 AP's exists as 1 node in our system, essentially the controller is the parent and the Thin AP's the children. If you want to be able to add the Thin AP's to maps, you can add the Thin AP's as ICMP only nodes and then they should be available to add to maps.
-
This is a good idea and something we can consider for a future release
-
You may also want to check out our Application Performance Monitor product or APM, here are a couple please for more info http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/application_monitor/ http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/Apm/Summary.aspx
-
Good idea, I have noted it down as a future idea, the notion of device templates if you will
-
Good feedback on usability here, I will log this
-
Which broswer are you using? I believe this is a known defect for IE and it works ok in Firefox, can you try FF?
-
If you delete all the community strings then we will just ping since we have no SNMP to send we skip it, so that is going to be your best bet.
-
Not today. To handle overlapping IP space we do this with multiple pollers. You can put the same IP on different pollers with different community strings, but this will not be a good solution for you, mainly cause it is overkill
-
Just FYI, NPM 9.5 is now out. If you are trying to log in using 2 accounts, but the same browser, for example multiple tabs, I don't believe that will work. Have you tried two different browsers to see if that works?
-
Can you provide some more detail? We ship with a ton of out of the box reports in Orion. Are you looking for something specific or just seeing what other people typically pull reports on?
-
Our typical guideline is if you plan to monitor 8000 or more elements, SolarWinds recommends that you install additional polling engines on separate servers to help distribute the work load. I copied this from the Admin Guide. Regarding IPAM, currently IPAM does not support additional poller, this is an enhancement we are…

Please contact support for guidance on getting the correct files
-
Are those alerts or events? If we are pinging that device and it stops responding to ping you will get node up and down events which just log to the UI. You can then enable the alerts to alert you on similar conditions.
-
Have you tried instead of using the Top 10 or Top 25 option to use the Top XX Volumes by Disk Space Used for example, if you use this, you get the edit option.
-
can you double check your setting on your Syslog-NG server to make sure they are retaining source IP on forward?
-
Do your Sonicpoints support the 802dot11 MIB? When you add the as nodes to Orion, what happens? How are they identified?
-
Please open a support ticket to look into
-
I don't see the memory info from the top screenshot, but in ours it is an additive view in the chart.
-
Terrific feedback, as always please keep it coming. We have asked this question before in surveys, but not gotten a ton of feedback on. What other tools would you like to see in Toolset?
-
We are working on a more formal list and will publish once completed.
