So couple things here. I am assuming here you are running 9.5. If you add a controller to NPM, we detect and gather the thin ap's and client details as you are correct, the thin AP's are SNMP only. I assume you are not wanting to loose that history for the old autonomous AP's correct?

We look at sysUptime from the device, so if this is resetting for some reason, we will consider the device has been rebooted. Is this something you can check with the vendor if this is a known issue on their side and may require a firmware upgrade?

See here for a comparison of free vs. purchased versions. When you install, by default for 30 days you get to evaluate the full blown version. After that time period it reverts to the free version if you choose to not purchase.

Yes, it is. Create a brand new view with whatever you want on it, different from the Network Summary home view. When creating the guest account, for the Home Page view in that accounts setting, just specify the newly created page.

Good feedback. What you can do now just in case you did not know is two things 1) directly from the ESX node details page, click on the unmanaged ESX host and you will get a popup asking if you want to manage it 2) Run a quick report of that ESX host and copy and paste the IP address and do a bulk upload to network…

I assume you are running 9.5 correct? As long as your AP supports the 802dot11 MIB it should show the connected clients.

There is no limitation besides the number of days, unless you are using SQL Express which has a DB size limit

Superdave, Thanks for the response, you can see what we are currently working on here. What are the items that are of interest to you and your organization? If you have seen them posted and commented on in other posts, please pile on. The more of ya'll comment on a feature, the better idea I get of overall priority.

As Yann said, this is an enhancement request we already have captured in the system

You can create a report as one option. Are you using 10.1 or above and the new dependencies feature there? If no, this is exactly the type of use case this feature was built for. A site goes down or a site router does down, don't alert me all of the device behind it are also down, just mark them as unreachable in Orion.
-
Not currently, we have a defect to address this. Currently the workaround would be to fully spell it out, ex. 10.01.0.0 until we can address
-
Depending on multiple factors, such as the size of the background image and how many items you have on the map this can be seen. So why would you want the old stale image to be displayed as it could no longer be accurate? To me it seems to me it could be mis-leading.

OK, there is no canned variable out of the box, but you should be able to use a SQL variable, something like this Down since: ${SQL:SELECT TOP 1 EventTime FROM Events WHERE NetworkNode = ${NodeID} AND EventType = 1 ORDER BY EventTime DESC}
-
I am checking with Dev on this.
-
No, I don't believe this is possible today
-
You should be able to do this today. If you go to the Syslog viewer and create a new rule you can specify all the levels except error and create a new action to drop the syslog message
-
What are you concerned about? Is your Orion installation running ok?

Please open a support case on this item.

I just tested it on NPM 9.5 for you and this appears to be working. I added a new node, on the last screen of add node wizard I changed the node name to something completely different and it added to NPM with that name. If you need an extra level of comfort on your side before upgrading, you could download and install and…

Can you post or PM me a picture of what you are seeing? If you can't I would recommend opening a Support ticket to resolve

Even though you have a large box, you have a lot running on that box. How many network elements are you monitoring? Is the SQL DB on the same box or off box? As you are seeing, even though your box has 16GB of memory, Windows 2003 32-bit only leverages by default 4GB of memory. You can increase this, here is an article on…

It appears that some controllers do not support the CISCO-PROCESS MIB OIDs we are using for polling the CPU. When we detect that we are successfully polling the CPU and memory of a device, we automatically hide those gauges. For your reference we are using the 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.109.1.1.1.1.X OIDs for CPU. If you find your…

I would recommend upgrading to SP2 which is now out. After upgrading, see if this issue still persists. If so, please open a support ticket

Where are you seeing this? The XX can be controlled by editing the resource and you can say top 10 or 20 etc.
-
Got it, I will get it logged into our system to consider for a future rev.
-
How did you get there? Did you drag and element on the map right click on it and change the graphic style? If so, then what you need to do is press the Atlas icon in the upper left hand corner of Network Atlas and select Atlas Settings I believe. Within here you can set the default icons to use for each object type,…

We kick off a set of polls against a few different OID's
-
What Service Pack do you have applied to your SQL 2005 install?
-
With APM you can do some Xen polling. We are looking to expand our virtualization capabilities in the future. To be honest MSFT Hyper-v is next on the list due to market share and customer demand, but we are always evaluating.
