Jason, Dave is correct. 9.5.1 was more focused on bug fixes and performance, not so much product enhancements
-
It's a folder

This should be addressed with 10.0 which just went GA. Check your customer portal to see if the bits are there, we are in the middle of provisioning now so if they are not, you can call support to get the direct link, PM me via thwack to get the direct link or wait a few more hours and check back.

I can say for sure not SP5, SP5 was released a few weeks back and is only required if you have IPAM 1.5, so no need to upgrade to it. Beyond that I cannot say for sure right now
-
Can you please open a support ticket so we can get a defect filed
-
I would recommend contacting Support for assistance. You shouldn't need to uninstall and reinstall modules.
-
Try enabling/configuring a port. Initial EnergyWise is about power consumption at the PoE port level and less the chassis level
-
Odd, let me circle back with some of the team here on this one

Should those be there by default or do I need to add them to the view manually? No they should show up automatically. When I click on them it indicates that they're unmanaged and asks if I want to add them to Orion... so obviously I need to add them individually right? Should I just add each VM server via SNMP? If you…
-
Sorry, we don't do it on purpose or to put you in a weird spot, IPAM 1.5 required some changes to Orion in order to enable alerting functionality we added to the 1.5 release. What is your hesitation on moving to 9.5?
-
No need to, I am opening a defect now for investigation
-
I don't think it should, it would be great for some users to chime in here. How many events per minute would it roughly need to process?
-
Have someone open a ticket online and reference this post
-
Do you have a bunch of wireless? If so, most likely that is the reason.
-
You can select all and unmanage you don't need to do one at a time.
-
Ah, nope
-
Have you checked out page 266 of the Admin Guide - http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/OrionAdministratorGuide.pdf
-
Yea it will only do images, not flash currently. If you just want to display the map, but not in network atlas, you might be able to create an html resource
-
We have addressed a lot of the issues experienced in the service packs for 9.5 and there are a lot of great new things in 9.5 and the updated modules, I would recommend upgrading, but that decision is ultimately yours as when to do it.

Depending on the type of operations you want to test, another option to look at is IPSLA Manager. You can setup operations from router to route. In situation of an MPLS cloud, since I assume this is not your infrastructure you lose visibility.

I believe TCP should be fine

So you are trying to figure out the node id for a set of devices? One way is if you drill to the node details page in the web for a node, you can see the node id in the url, example node id here is 133 - server/.../NodeDetails.aspx.
-
What are your OS and DB language settings set to?
-
Are you running the integration module? Regardless, when you upgrade, the installer should shut down all the services to perform the upgrade.
-
If you do a list resources in web node management, are you getting the list of interfaces back and if yes, have you selected them?
-
Are you upgrading to NPM 9.5 this weekend?
-
What does his device return for 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1? If it is like Version 12.2(50)SE(0-9) then we currently block it since this IOS train had some memory leak issues with SNMP polling. Can you upgrade to the latest train that supports EnergyWise?
-
Are you trying to do this with Orion NPM 9.5/9.5.1 or 10 RC?
-
It was a new feature we added in NPM 10.1. You can read more about it here and I also did a blog post on it if you are interested in it.
-
Yes if you need another poller, that is something you will need to purchase, see here for more info
