Item # 1 is an open enhancement request
-
Also just so you know we are adding IPv6 support in the next version of NPM.
-
We have a new product we are bringing to market which does exactly this called User Device Tracker. It has a feature called the watch list which will tell you when something pops up on the network you defined for us to watch for. You can read more about it here
-
I am looking into with Dev.
-
You can download a 30 day full featured evaluation from solarwinds.com which in 9.5 SP3
-
What SNMP agent are you using? net-snmp?
-
Using NPM you cannot do this that I can think of. If we monitor the PC's we will monitor also state along with stats.
-
Check out this thread here
-
From a support perspective of the API, what would you be interested in and looking for? As you likely know, we have the documentation available here - Web Help Desk REST API Guide. Be sure an file an idea request for FileWave to help us gauge interest and demand for a formal OOTB integration.

So you added the custom HTML resource to a page when you went to that page, did you then click edit on that resource and insert the code? If so, what are you seeing?

Bulk list works in a way hostnames are resolved into IP list and IP list is then used as set of IP ranges in discovery configuration. So, hostnames are gone. When discovery does not discover hostname (i.e. ICMP node) the result of discovery is just bunch of nodes with IP as a name. When node is SNMP capable and discovery…

Byron I responded back to your linked post in this thread.

We require your NPM credentials to login, but I think what you are asking for is we connect via port 17777 to the Orion server. Is that what you needed?
-
I recommend opening a Support ticket to look into resolving
-
Can you expand on your question, it is a little vague. NPM has added support for SQL 2008 with the 9.5 release
-
Where is the syslog being sent to, the additional pollers or the main SLX server?
-
I will add you to the list requesting this as I have heard something similar a couple times. In the meantime, in 10.1, we added a new page called Message Center which groups together Alerts, Events, Syslog and Traps into one page for filtering, searching etc.
-
This feature is on our list of things to add into the product in the future, but I don't have a planned timeframe to give you
-
Maps are stored in the database in 9.5. We have the lock in place so users do not step on each other and overwrite one another trying to work on the same map. Are you sure you don't have an Atlas logged in somewhere else? Might need to open a support ticket, I have not heard of any other users having locking issues
-
Have you looked at Orion NCM, they have a Switch Ports report out of the box, you can look at the online demo here
-
What version are you currently running? The latest is 9.5.1, so if not on that, I recommend upgrading to that first
-
I am looking into, however, have you opened a ticket with support?
-
Good feedback GonzoUK and this is for sure a direction we are moving down. With 9.5 we added depth on wireless monitoring and in vNext based on the what we are working on post we are adding depth around Fiber Channel switches and VSAN's.
-
This is most likely a defect, I will double check.
-
Check out this post here, which a similar issue was discussed and Notepager Support chimed in after some chats I had with them. Hope this helps.
-
Yes you can, please see the Admin guide here for more info and I copied the text from there below here Enabling Secure Channels with SSL Orion NPM supports the use of Secure Sockets Layer certificates to enable secure communications with the Orion Web Console. The following procedure enables SSL connections to the Orion…

I will add your name to this request in the system. It is in there, but right now, not super high on our priority list with a lot of the other stuff we are doing.
-
We are evaluating and looking at this and some potential options, but nothing I am going to commit to at this point in time.
-
I would recommend opening a suppor ticket
