First off anytime you have issues like this in the future, please call support to assist. Second, I see you have done a bunch of steps, have you run a repair yet?
-
Most likely this is cause this is an HTTPS connection. I am not 100% sure, but that is my first theory. Could you add the page as an external link?
-
Have not heard or seen this report from anyone else. You may want to try re-running the configuration wizard and select the website. If that does not work, then please open a support ticket.
-
Thanks for the info, I have forwarded this internally to the right folks so we can get this looked into and see what we can do from our side
-
Got it, as you know you always have the option to have Engineers Toolset to have this option today.
-
#1 - good feedback and something we can look at for a future release. #2 - Are you seeing this both running locally and remotely? We are working on some performance improvements that should help with this. #3 - So the maps are in the DB based on customer request mainly. If you want to back the server up, you used to have…

We are displaying what we get back directly from the controller. Currently there is no method to edit or extend them unless there is some native features in the controller themselves
-
You will have to either use UnDP, see here for an example the community contributed or depending on what else your needs are beyond that, you can also look at NCM
-
Try this and see if this gets you where you want to be. In the Admin section of the web interface, go to Web Console Settings and set the option Status Rollup Mode to Show Worst Status
-
So when you added the node and viewed the resources to monitor, did you select the appropriate disk drives and other resources you wanted to monitor?
-
For OS we respond with what we get from SNMP, so see what net-snmp is responding with. On the machine type, the SysObjectID is responding with Net-SNMP. Not sure if you can change that to point to the relevant SysObjectID or not.
-
What types of machines are you seeing this on, Windows, Linux, Cisco etc?
-
Ctopaloglu, I can see your confusion and why you would ask this question. If you look at the market as a whole, there are two distinct and different segments; Systems Management and Application Performance Management or APM, each of these focus on solving different use cases or problems. SolarWinds APM (despite its name)…
-
ctopaloglu, sorry, as you know we rarely have to edit or remove posts, but in this instance I had to as the Gartner report is copyright protected material and unless you have redistribution rights from Gartner it should not be posted. However, I am not ignoring you question and am writing a larger response now to your…

So you can set the devices as unmanaged, but they will still show in the website, just as unmanaged instead of down/up. There is no way to "hide" them till they come back online unless you want to remove them from a users view limitation.
-
What within esxi and your datastores are you interested in seeing? What else would you be interested in seeing from this perspective?
-
Couple things to check, did you enable the UnDP? Did you assign it to the devices you wanted? Did you set it to display on the web? This all can be done via right click on the UnDP in the UnDP app.
-
temp files? How big is that dir?
-
You’re right, that option is missing from the documentation/help. We have added a work item to fix this in a future revision. If set, “Enable Service Debug Mode” logs all messages to Syslogd-debug.txt file in <program files>.This flag is not enabled when Kiwi Syslog Service starts. So, to “disable” just restart the service.
-
Can you check to see if any other app is using that port on that box?
-
What are you using to poll the device in general within NPM?
-
Gotcha, we are looking at general charting enhancement for the future. Something like here - http://www.google.com/finance?q=csco Where you can select the time period via an interactive slider below the chart.
-
Yep I would recommend checking out the vendors MIB's and seeing if they expose this information via SNMP and if so a UnDP
-
So you want to acknowledge alerts from the web right? You should be able to do this, what version are you running?
-
I am checking into this, but in the meantime you can export the map to an image file and then import/insert that into Visio
-
What is on the summary page you don't want them to see?
-
Opening a support ticket would be the best way to go
-
No it should just be the specific interface which changes status, not all interfaces.
-
Are you just marking them used in the UI or are you also changing the IP value to Static-User Managed?
-
So if you do a MIB walk on the device in question what is the sysuptime? If we see a change in the SysUpTime reported from the device, where either the counter has rolled over, or in some cases, moves backwards, then Orion will show the device as having been rebooted.
