Even three years later, i would still like to see this query. I am still looking for a way to know how many SAM components will be moved when I move a node to a different polling engine.
-
Any update on this?
-
Just Node Name, Date Added, User who added the node. Could not decide how to do the Join between NetworkNode in the Events table and NodeID in the NodesData table.
-
One more thing in case it was not obvious from my earlier reply.... I would be looking to report on the date added for nodes ALREADY in the database - i.e the date the node was originally added to the database, assuming that information has not aged out of the database.
-
Thanks for the clarification. Actually, we did complete all product upgrades, including WPM, with the "NPM" installer. My question is, did I miss some announcement that the Upgrade Advisor is not relevant any more? If it tells me that I need to perform two installs when only one is required, it is not very helpful.

Adatole, I like your idea as a way to use an alert to populate a custom property with the date the node was added. However, when setting up the alert trigger, I was confused as to which variable to use to extract the date timestamp. Using "DateTime" from the Nodes table just fills in today's date. It looks like you will…

I agree with stevenstadel. The first thing to do is make sure you are monitoring those node resources that are actually useful. Beyond that, you might also consider whether you want to continue employ the "Classic" node status rather than "Enhanced" node status. Or, at least go through the list of attributes that…

I see by the title of the text file that the System OID you used is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.5.18. I did a MIB walk on a 1900 I have and the system OID is 5.28. Do you think I should be able to modify your template with my OID and make it work?

anyone?

Just curious, but does anyone know why a database repair would have caused the data for the custom poller to start writing to the database and appearing on the Orion web site?
-
Select "ascending" in the sort blank for NodeName. Glad it is coming along. As for your interface name. yes, you will have to designate some text in the "contains" or "starts with" blank that uniquely selects only the interfaces you are interested in. If you cannot do that, you will likely have to go back to the custom…

bump?

I saw the same thing in my ESX 3.5I environment. As byrona posted earlier in this thread, if you have ESX v4 (VCenter), you should see the actual virtual machine names.
-
If you choose the "Inventory" report type from scratch, you will see Interface menus.

I seem to have solved the problem I had the wrong OID after all. The OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.15 or ifHighSpeed allows the table resource to be used on the Node Details view and works fine. One question: Why did the previous OID (1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.5) test OK in the UnDP?
-
Tried one more thing. I went back into the properties for the poller and changed it from interface polling to node polling. I tested it against two Cisco routers and now I get the OID not supported message and the table resource is still not available. So, it seems that I may have the wrong OID, but we still have the web…

Working from what patriot and rob.hock have already determined, I was able to find a folder named "Admin" in each of the app folders in the inetpub\Solarwinds\Orion folder (except for IPAM). In the Admin folder, I found an aspx file named "default". So, for instance, in the inetpub\SolarWinds\Orion\UDT\Admin folder is the…

Ive got version 9.00.04.

Well, I went back into the Assign screen and found that if I check the node, it still places check marks for each interface as well (which makes sense to me). I then go back into the Web Display screen and still cannot choose the table resource. Am I missing something?
-
Sorry, I posted before I attached the other screenshots:
-
Forgive me for interjecting here, but this is a very instructive thread. I have a couple of questions: (1) Are you seeing "gaps" for interfaces on both pollers? The reason I ask is that your polling completion on one poller shows 98.96% while the other is over 99%. Or is that difference not significant? (2)A more general…

Thanks, for the info. The Alert Trigger Time did the trick. I have another issue as well. This advanced alert is set to trigger when the response time exceeds 150ms. The alert evaluation frequency is set at the default setting of 1 minute. Emails are delivered at four graduated time delays after an initial 5 minute delay…

Ticket has been opened. Case #77941.

And here is the second one.....
-
Will do. by the way Chris, what firmware version are you running on your 1900?
-
Thanks Chris. I should also note that I am attempting to see if I can upgrade the firmware as well in case this is part of the issue.

Check to make sure that the SNMP service is configured to respond to queries from the IP address or hostname of your SolarWinds server. It may only be set to respond to localhost or some other IP address.
-
Unfortunately, updating the Orion MIB database will not help with your issue. The MIB database is used ONLY as a reference for the Universal Device Poller tool. The link you referenced clearly states this fact.

PHA, I looked at Report Writer in a little more detail and came up with a way to creatre the report without resorting to the custom SQL option. Here are screen shots of how to use SolarWinds Report Writer that may also get you what you’re looking for:
-
I was expecting it to be tie to the VCenter information, so, no, I do not get the level of detail that is needed. So, PHA, if you are using VCenter, you should be able to get the data you are after now thanks tho byrona. All you would have to do is adjust the space availability threshold to the value you want in the SQL…
