Try looking in the "APM_ApplicationCustomProperties" table. Your format would be APM_ApplicationCustomProperties.blahblah.

You can create a folder in the Reports folder and then copy the reports you want them to see into that folder. Then, point their user accounts to that folder rather than the master Reports folder.

Anyone please? Thanks.

Basically, if the address is in a format that can be resolved to a Lat/Long location by OpenStreetMap, then it will appear on the map within a few minutes after being added to the database. Best practice is to use as full an address as possible. Do you have any international addresses? Sometimes, those can be a little more…

If you are using an advanced alert, then you need only add a simple condition that requires the Nodename be equal to one or the other node name. See the screen shot. Note tht the top condition group will have the ALL condition, while the dependent group has the ANY condition. That way if either node goes down, you will get…

Good move on putting this out there. My initial reaction to the request from Chris was that there was no built-in way to “map” trap data in SolarWinds. Hopefully your question will get some immediate feedback. Brett

That is a normal message indicating that your Flow Storage Database (FSDB) is maxed at capacity based on the 30 day retention period. Your DB size will stay at 8 GB while the oldest data is continually deleted. If your Average received flows per second were greater, then so would be the DB size. Does that help?

Yes, you may use the Database Manager tool running on your primary polling server. Launch the tool, click Add default server. Then, expand to see you database name. Expand the database to expose the tables in your Orion database. Select a table, right click and select Query Table. Execute the default query (or any other…

Actually, you don't need to worry about MIBs and OIDs. Simply use the "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters" section of the APM Settings page on the APM website. This will scan a target device for available SNMP or WMI processes and counters. You can compile a list of those that are applicable to the…

The only way I know of is to use the Show SQL button in Report Writer and then copy the SQL into a Custom Table resource using the Advanced Database Query option in the web report. This will convert the report.

Thanks for posting this dregier. I would like to hear from SolarWinds on this please. Are the issues that dregier is experiencing "normal" behavior for the Discovery process? What changes or enhancements is SW looking at in the lab right now that may address this problem?

You can do one of two things. In the Universal Device Poller tool, right click on the UnDP and select Web Display. Then simply choose the Node Details view and the type of resource for that view. Another option is to add a resource called "Universal Device Poller Status" to the Node Details view using the Customize Page…

Are there any plans to add more SLA's supported on the Cisco Nexus 5-7K?

As for alerting on when a port goes active, that is just a simple status change alert. As for an alert having to do with traffic levels on an interface, this is just a guess. Try setting up an alert that triggers on either/or (both?) transmit and receive bps being equal to zero, but then delay the trigger action until the…

You can do this quite easily using the Manage Reports tool on the Orion website. When defining report variables, choose Polling Method. You can also limit your dynamic query to Vendor = Windows and then add the Caption and IP Address fields to the report. Hope this helps.

A couple of quick suggestions that might help. If you are rebooting a server for scheduled maintenance, you may want to either disable all appropriate alerts in System Manager. or at least disable the alert actions to prevent all these alerts from firing. If the maintenance is scheduled at a set time, you could set the…

You should find a Time of Day tab in the Design mode of the report. Just change the From and To times.

Alerts cannot be configured in the web GUI. You must log onto the Orion app server and access the advanced alert manager from the Program menu. Look under Programs--> Solarwinds Orion-->Alerting, Reporting and Mapping--> Advanced Alert Manager. You may also launch the System Manager and then click on the blue triangle icon…

There is a default job for doing this already in NCM. Open the NCM console on the server, go to Schedule-->Create New Job. Select the Import Devices from Orion Database option and proceed to edit using the wizard. Let us know if you need any specific help setting this up.

Add one more interested user on this one. I am seeing the same thing. Is this a case for the UnDP tool, or is there a glitch at work here?

I am a little surprised that you were told to consider adding a polling engine with only 4000 elements in your network. The rule of thumb (and it seems to hold quite well) is that a polling engine should handle 8,000 to 10,000 elements. Of course, that is assuming that the server hardware is up to the task. You mentioned…

This is an excellent use case for Custom Properties. Have you investigated them yet? Basically, you can use the Custom Property editor to create a property to assign to nodes or interfaces that you want to treat as a group. In your case, you would create a Yes/No property (named whatever you wish) that would be assigned to…

Yes, use the "Email a Web Page" trigger action.

There are numerous resources and ways to get familiar with the world of SolarWinds. Is your company new to SolarWinds as well?

Anyone?

You can edit the child group and add a second condition to the dynamic query that excludes the router by Caption or IP Address. Just use the qualifier "is not" in the condition. Use the Preview button to make sure the router does not appear in the result of the query. Hope this helps.

There are a few ways to get this done - some easier than others. I would use a combination of user account settings and view resources. First, make sure that all of this users settings are set to "No" so that he/she will not be able to make any changes to their own access privileges or view resources. Then, if all they…

If you are on Platform version 2015.1, the table name is NodesData. Look for Caption, SysName fields.
