Thanks for the write up. Looks like I'll be going into robot repair in the future.

For example, the router goes down at a site. The NOC gets several messages at around the same time -Router down -Switch xyz down -Switch abc down -Access Point abc down -Access Point gfi down -Access Point hij down -Access Point woj down -Server ABC down -Server ZYX down -Workstation drg down etc... In this case our NOC…

Me as well, I was out of the office for a few days and had to think... today.... but it was 'today' for a few days ago. Had to go back a few days and load the charts.

Congrats to everyone !!! I see rschroeder is about to hit the 500,000 mark soon!

"Use it or lose it" also applies to I wrote it 10 years ago and totally forgot about it and how it works.

Thanks for the reply wluther I'm trying to add a Custom HTML resource on the Active Alert Detail page so that our NOC can review the instructions for an alert and then create a ticket by sending an email to our 'MailEater' program in Service Desk. The 'MailEater' program parses out specific info contained within the Body…

That's what the Pharmacists at my old job thought too. Until the company figured out you only need one Pharmacist on shift to supervise an entire warehouse of robots.

I just do the ones that don't run at work at home. They usually only take 5 minutes. Some other items that don't always work are the side chat window and video during classes or webinars. I just use my personal hotspot and laptop for those.

Anyone have any that you can share?

"That sign telling you how fast you’re driving may be spying on you" Where I live (Michigan) the same cameras are on the patrol cars as well and I believe they alert the officer under specific conditions. If you google "Norton Speed Camera" you will find stories like this: Norton speed camera busts 9,352 drivers in two…

Of the 327 million around 22 percent are under 18. A good number of the ones over 18 have several cards. I wouldn't doubt the 100 million number.

Thanks for the write up.

One other comment, I did find that nodes with spaces or $ in their CAPTION failed on this. Once I get that resolved I will post the fix.

At my previous gig we had all of our 10G Network Core, DMZ and WAN tapped with Gigamon. You are right, it was very expensive! It took about eight months to coordinate all of the downtimes needed to tap all of those links I was pretty happy with the Gigamon. It fed all of the other tools for Security, Web Analytics, and…

Probably a little late to market for me, we are moving to the cloud and my crystal ball is showing a lot less server monitoring and a lot more service monitoring in our future.
-
We are running a mixed bag of in house and cloud. Don't see any large scale plans t migrate yet but your never know it could get announced tomorrow Another company I know of started going 'full cloud' two years ago and I think all they got done so far is lost most of their IT talent. They are still running a lot of apps on…

Overall I have been pretty happy with the support for Cisco products. There is always a one off that doesn't work 100 percent here and there but there always will be. In comparing some of the tools that Cisco themselves have provided over the years I'm pretty happy using Solarwinds.

Yea, that's not good. I just have a little drone that goes about 300 feet before it loses signal and then crashes.... alot.

If anyone's into retro games on the PI look into Retroflag on Amazon and Youtube and you will find some nice cases/controllers for your PI.

A few short years ago hobbyists were building their own remote control drones, now you can get a decent one for a few hundred bucks. The technology is there so it's only a matter of time before they are making them large enough to ride in.... in a garage near you. The age of the flying riding lawnmower is soon to come

Thanks for the write up. My team is just now embarking on our first venture into machine learning. We looked at both in house and cloud and cloud was slightly more expensive right now. I'm sure as the system grows we will be revisiting cloud again.

There are several good tools out there that utilize packet capture as their base.
