It used to be the network got blamed first but I see that trending towards falling on either the SAN or the database these days. In my testing I wasn't able to trigger an alert for every single event. I was using the example of receiving a message each time a person scanned a badge reader to enter a door. Only the first person that scanned each minute was recorded. Person 2, 3, 4, etc were missed.

Back in the day it was always a network problem, until you proved it wasn't.... Now it's Storage, SQL, or the VM Cluster and the network is rarely the culprit
