I'm sure we will eventually get there but we tend not to be early adopters on any large scale.

The article about Microsoft is very interesting. Nice approach. "Provide zero rights by default to administration accounts," the Microsoft Security Team also recommended. "Require that they request just-in-time (JIT) privileges that gives them access for a finite amount of time and logs it in a system."

I'm going to go with today's answer is incorrect. I filtered out the applications on the side bar and this is how many are showing.

I also love pre-electronic gadgets and learning how to use them.

I just worked on a SAM ticket with Annette from Solarwinds Support and she was top notch. Knew her stuff well

I usually always populate blades in order, like slot 1 then slot 2 then slot 3 unless they need to be out of order for a specific reason. So at first glance I expect all of the slots to be occupied, but possible some items not currently on when I see green across the depiction of the chassis. Upon closer inspection I saw…

I don't envy the person who has to go in and do this as their job every day. It's hard and stressful work. And kind of like working with an auditor, a lot of people don't buy into the fact that everything needs documentation so its an uphill battle most of the time.

I missed the Phoenix one last year by one week. My wife attended a conference there the following week and I tagged along.

Might want to run this by your boss before you scan your whole network otherwise you may be having an interesting and uncomfortable conversation.

While they do allow people to use their smart devices in most of the areas I work, there are areas where you can't have them out or use them because of concerns about the camera in the device. I remember a few years back someone took pictures at one of the big 3 automakers of some of the car designs that were still in…

Another reason I still have a 90's Jeep. I borrowed my wife's new SUV last weekend and it beeps every time you swerve for a pothole in the road. In my state (Michigan) the road resembles the surface of the moon. The beeper sounded like some kind of techno drum beat. Hacker Finds He Can Remotely Kill Car Engines After…

Why the dockless scooter industry is going after a repossessor and a bike shop owner They started having the same problem in a town by me. They fixed it by installing racks in different places you needed to return them to. Just like the bikes in Chicago.

A lot of good points. Thank you. I had a challenge to work through in NPM where node names had no standards because they were inherited through acquisitions. I ended up driving all of my alerting using custom properties assigned to the nodes. Otherwise the alerting had so many OR conditions it was unmanageable. In the end…

Always though that was a Soviet phrase.

Your doing it wrong, the Bird Eating Spider is supposed to be served very rare, legs on, with a sprinkle of Adobo seasoning on top. About one minute each side on the grill, just enough to singe the hair off. The legs should be evenly spaced, hanging out the bun when served. Best with a red wine.

I have the same issue and there are a lot of Custom Properties in our system. We let our engineers manage the nodes they are responsible for so Custom Properties don't always get filled in correctly. We use both Site and Equipment Room.
