Bacoin. Now that's an investment I could really sink my teeth into!

Nothing can go wrong here...

Thanks for the write up. Step #6 keep your resume up to date...

I do get to work from home but as you mentioned some people can thrive in that environment and some need people time. I guess I'm in the middle of both. I mostly do coding all day so it's way easier to do when I'm in a quiet setting. At work there are always people singing loud, goofing off, playing basketball, arguing…

If the price stayed the same at $4 a half hour that's $192 a night to stay which I thought was going to be a great rate but then I googled it and was surprised at how cheap hotels are. Never been there so have no clue.

Thanks for the Mini Mission!

Missed it this year, hope to see you next year.

I love the new maps, any new feature additions are welcome.

I can't believe that they figured out most of the physics a hundred years ago and they are just now to the point where they have tools to prove it.

Took this pic this morning as I left for work. My firepit isn't quite as fancy, its just a bare spot on the ground in front of the stack of wood in the middle of the picture. Behind it is one of the deer that hang out at my place every day.

If you want to show you kids/grandkids how you used to have to type in pages of code to get a simple two dimensional game to work this site has a lot of the old computer magazines. I guess I would say this hoarding is probably good. I like old radio shows and not a lot of them were archived. A lot of stuff from the early…

I vote we name it PacketThwackit and the first 6 commentors to the thread get a free copy!

I just started investigating this for our SolarWinds environment.

@"silverbacksays" Thanks for putting all of these together. I have used almost every link on your list.

Thanks for the write up!

Have fun with the Jeep! Mine turned 20 this year and still runs as good as the day I bought it

I saw that. Wonder if my phone and all my other electronic gear is 'chipped' as well?

Only 97 shopping days left until Christmas... Thanks for the reminder in 95 days I'll order on Amazon.

@ rschroeder I agree and like the new Kudo system. I think it will encourage people to help each other out. In the old system if someone asked for assistance and you posted a reply it was only 1 thwack point for helping. I thought this was kind of odd being that Thwack is a place for users to collaborate. At the same time…

You might try the free Event Log Forwarder from Solarwinds or type 'evntwin' on the command line of your Orion server and use the free one that comes with Windows OS.

We are doing the virtual lunches for some mid day comic relief Also have several chat groups going throughout the day to keep in touch with all the different teams we interact with. Very happy we had all the collaboration tools in place. Since we are located in a rather snowy state, a lot of people would work remote…

I had a similar experience with servers, multiple temperature sensors like shown in your example. I had a (micro)manager ask me to report the temperature in hundreds of remote data centers based off of a similar MIB. I asked which one he wanted. Even the inlet temp can vary depending on how high or low the server was…

Great challenge for today. I was about six years old when I discovered that if you gave a horse a lot of attention he would do anything you wanted. Initially I was scared of the horse - he was huge, but I went out every day and hung out, petted, brushed, and fed him and eventually he would come running any time I went…

Set up a SAM transaction using 'SQL Server User Experience Monitor' You will need to set up your SQL credentials and specify Initial Catalog (Database Name) Place a SQL Query such as: SELECT count (*) as BlockedOrFailed FROM MyTableName where (RunState = 'failed' or RunState = 'Blocked') and (Instance like '%Myinstance%'…

They have been using fingerprints to some extent on re-entry if you are not a US citizen. Departing a US Airport? Your Face Will Be Scanned
-
Probably not a bad idea. The local police here already have the plate scanning cameras so it doesn't matter if its digitial or aluminum. Digital license plates now in 3 states, with more on the way

None of my nodes ever rediscover the new interfaces even if I manually rediscover the node. Is this the normal behavior? I have between 20-50 nodes replaced every week on an ongoing basis.

I wish I could run my Solarwinds system on the cloud. I've been pushing red tape for two months just to get two test servers restaged from Windows 2012 to Windows 2016.
