Thanks for the write up Leon Adato I liked your comment that Being multi-lingual is normal. Here are some awesome Spidey skills also.

That could have been easily answered with the fact that you were trying to effect change in your own personal life by going to a job interview

It's way easier to be productive than just keep busy.

Thanks for the write up! We do a Failure Impact Analysis (FIA) and it includes an AAR and Incident Action Plan (IAP) which is what are you going to do to keep it from happening again and how you are going to monitor it. This is usually when monitoring gets engaged because that step was skipped when they originally set the…

"Ticketmaster buys a blockchain company to guard against ticket fraud" At my local venue they just announced they won't be taking any paper tickets any more. Have to have to display them on your phone now.

My former company regularly did activities as you described. Not so much to prosecute anyone but to make people aware of when not to click on an email attachment or plug in the USB drive you found laying in the parking lot.

I think its a great idea. Kind of like a guy going to the car dealership and looking around at cars. If the sales person doesn't get them into one to drive then they really won't have any idea about the performance, comfort, and creature features of any specific one.

This is quite alarming considering how many of these are out there and the impact if they quit working.

Walmart says its new robots will make human employees happier My Roomba gets stuck under the couch, sucks up the string and tries to pull the mini blind down, pushes my stuff everywhere, etc... Pretty sure a bigger one will just cause mayhem on a larger scale.

Not specifically speaking about the help desk but in my case the NOC. (similar to the help desk) I started a new gig a couple years back and the NOC was manually looking up owners for servers, switches, etc.. then manually creating tickets and then assigning them out. After digging around a bit a found the datasources that…

Missing the option "I had one but it is not current" I held my SCP twice before. I wish I could simply walk into a testing center and take the test, not have to set up my own testing environment. Solarwinds should pursue using actual test centers, even if taking the exam costs more.

The Garmin GPS is an awesome prize

Your welcome I used this as a base to create an entire SQL dashboard of all of our servers/instances and which of our co-located datacenters the instance was running at/failed over to. Once you set the first one up you can then keep changing the server/instance/catalog on the template and wash rinse repeat. When your done…

I think that's going to be my next move

>200 = yes/no?, >0 = yes/no?, >25 = yes/no?, >13 = yes/no?

Any update on the location of the Chicago event?

Our helpdesk level 1 and 2 are the same thing so if I average the numbers I come up with the wrong answer.... haha!

@"Sudhakar.Ramakrishna" Thanks for the update. I am in the same situation as @"jmodjeski" We are now looking at multi vendor solutions so we don't get caught again with all of our eggs in one basket as the saying goes.

Actually I think it will take off in a huge way. The entire process of creating code - develop - test - implement into production will all be virtualized. Since each container is just a stamped out replica you can add/delete them as needed and additionally you can limit the amount of time a container exists.

Thanks for the write up .

Nice read. For the most part everyone gets along great, but there's always that one person that has to be difficult to work with for everyone. In a small company they would simply be let go but in a larger company stick around.

Thanks for the write up.

Apple watch's answer to 'Help I've fallen and I can't get up'. I will probably need this someday, unfortunately the watches are so small by the time I'm old enough to break a hip I won't be able to read the watch.

Nice badge collection! Is that a Netware badge hanging on the back... oh nevermind, take you a week to get it out

Some companies Ops departments get so overladen with procedures that it takes weeks and reams of paperwork just to get a test server built. I see a lot of development areas going to the cloud to get away from dealing with internal Operations.

Thanks for the write up. And we do weekly discovery and manage all of those hundreds of forgotten servers and then people complain when they get an off hours page and ticket on a server they forgot they owned... haha!

Thanks for the write up!

I spoke with my sales person about floating licenses and that's the approach I think we will take. Use SAM and DPA together.

@"jblankjblank" https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NTA-Discussions/Netflow-installer-failed-with-error-quot-Services-configuration/m-p/593958#M11995 It seemed it was the Netflow portion that I was having issues with. I broke my change up this time into two parts, first upgrade to 2019.4 tomorrow, then on Thursday try…
