Same has been my experience. The Dev folks usually have elevated rights in that environment so they can access the data in ways they can not in production.

If you are a retailer you can look at your PCI audit as a measure similar to your credit score. The percentage the banks are going to charge you per credit card transaction is directly related to the risk they determine based on your audit results. If you have a bad audit your fees can increase.

Thanks for the write up. In healthcare some IOT things you don't immediately think of such as don't play pokemon in a patient care area.... because if a patient ends up in a picture...then your violating a bunch of rules.

My Wife's SUV has all of the beepers and sensors and brakes, steers etc... I got around the code execution issues by adding the Solarwinds Orion server as a user on the remote machine. Select Object Types, then click on Computer then add the hostname of your Orion server. Then your Orion server can have admin rights when it runs it's scripts against the remote machine.
