I remember these being called LPAR's a long time ago. Thanks for the write up!

@ petergwilson You are officially invited to our next team building event

Nice write up Rick, thank you. Planning on working from home for this one so I can be distraction free. Looking forward to it!

Thanks for the write up. I have used synthetic user monitoring for several years. On the simplest level SAM works if you just want to see if a website responds and how fast and also with WPM and other tools that you can do additional testing such as log into a site, place an item in the cart and verify you can get to the…

Yep I was in Phoenix, did some awesome hiking while there as well. Would love to visit again! Glad your upgrade went well also :)

The only thing I watch on network TV is the Detroit Red Wings and sometimes Netflix. Not much time for TV except in the middle of winter.

I always take any training offered by my employer, regardless of certification provided. The need for improving security is driving companies to invest money in tools that they would not have purchased in the past. Some of the new tools available today offer things I could have only dreamed of a few years ago.

Wendy was there a survey for day one?

Coming soon to a Thwack store near you

That does sound like a fun and educational exercise. A tabletop exercise on 'how would you break in' would also be an educational experience.

@ sqlrockstar Your fire circle looks great! Liked the last couple of fall pictures you posted on it.

I guess I would best fit into the Rowdy Friend Game Night because ours usually includes BBQ, adult beverages, and are all kid safe (as long as the adults don't overindulge). We mostly do outdoor games like cornhole, washers, kuub, rollers, and mini golf which allow you to be with your friends and family but still keep a…

Netflow, Gigamon and a decent Packet Sniffer goes a long way in mapping out all of you network flows. I use Tetration sometimes but I guess I'm old school and like the raw data.

Definitely attending this one.

Don't forget the 'Black Hole' department. Where lots of money, data, resources, etc. goes in and nothing ever comes out! I have seen this come under many names over the years....
-
Thanks for the write up! I have always looked at soft skills as being just as important as technical skills. You need to be able to work and communicate well with others to be part of a team.

Great write up, thank you. The best compliment for an IT team is invisibility - unless the company is making cutbacks. Then you may be perceived as non-essential until you are gone.
-
This is great news! Mine is currently expired and would love the renew it. Once 'in person' becomes available I will schedule the exam.
-
Great idea. Thanks for sharing!
-
Those are two different definitions IMO.

My apples are just perfect for picking right now. If I could only keep this guy and all his friends out of my trees.....

GM’s data mining is just the beginning of the in-car advertising blitzWow, good to know. x - off the list

Good to know.

I agree, very rare on the internet. The only other place I ever see cooperation like that is on the farming forums.

Conduit that was supposed to be 3 feet below the ground was actually only 1 foot. New parking lot being put in and a bulldozer snagged the main power feed to the data center. Luckily the generators started

Thanks for the write up.

Seymour is your friend today

I wonder what the United States ratio is?

Hoping Friday's question is a survey. First month in awhile I have all green so far. Hoping for a perfect month

Thanks for the write up! Digging through log files isn't much fun but there are tools out there now that can do it in a big hurry if you learn their search language.
