Generally you will see this issue when 1) The Profiler server is having an issue collecting the data and the agent will start dropping the oldest data when it reaches is size limit (set per module). 2) The data set is so large that the module reaches it size limit before the Profiler server can collect and remove the data.…

Storage Manager does not collect detailed information on all files, but does collect summary information of all files (by Age, Ownership and Type) per target (volume, file system, share, etc.). Rules allow you to find Files Of Interest - something you may want to take an action on, but will not give you a list of all…

Thanks for the requests. STM does not support the Leadville drivers at this time, but are considering adding them to the roadmap in the future. If there are additional customers who are interested, please add your comments to this thread. Brian

Hi. For trials, we only have the latest version available on the SolarWinds website. If you are customer, you can find old versions in the customer portal. If you can let me know a little more about what you are trying to do, I might be able to give better advice.

Hi. It looks like some of the security updates rely on Windows 2012 cryptography libraries, hence the incompatibility with 2008. No known workaround at this time. Hopefully you have backups, or can upgrade that server to 2012, or can uninstall and reinstall the old version.

The warning/errors are build on the percentiles of a weeks work of data each time the configuration is pushed, with some defaults build in if there is not enough data. Try pushing the configuration to the agents again to reset the percentiles or you can turn them off. If you want more granular control, create rules and…

Please take a look at the recent blog post: Customizing Recommendation Alerts in Virtualization Manager I covered adding an alert for when drives go below 700MB. Let me know if you need more information. Brian

Can you post a screenshot of the error?

The ISL reports dont come from our switch monitoring, rather it comes from our fabric monitoring. You will need a Windows server with HBA and connectivity to the fabric you want to monitor. Once you have that, install a STM Windows agent on that server, then go to Setting > All Resources and add a FC Fabric device and…

XIV is very interesting to us, but we cannot provide any expected dates of support. Brian

Hi Mohsen, In reporting, you can create a new report based on Top Databases for Instance and add a filter for the database(s) you want. If you need to see databases on separate charts, you can group multiple charts into a single report. EX: I created a reported filtered on table "Master", then another one with 3 tables…

Make sure you have the Who made the change detection turned on for that agent. "Who" detection only works for files and registry data. See these posts for more info: Server Configuration Manager 1.1 is Now Available! Who Made the Change? Monitor who made server configuration changes Once you take a look at those, post…

Hi, Thanks for the feedback, glad you like Profiler. Data Domain is very interesting to us. Are there any specific pain points you are trying to solve? Thanks Brian
-
Hi - you can vote for Azure SQL Managed Instance here: You are correct, we don't share timelines for specific features... but being on the What We are working on page indicates we are looking into it. Cheers, Brian

Ed, Thanks for the honest and open feedback. DPA definitely could improve its online documentation and we take documentation very seriously at SolarWinds. In fact, let me take this opportunity to introduce our brand new Success Center - put together to help customers get more value from our products and centralize all our…

Profiler does not get this currently, but it is very interesting to us. Let me know if you have more questions or feature requests in the future. Brian

Good to hear. Have you had a chance to dig into Query Performance Analysis or Table Tuning Advisor? It could take a day or two for the data to fully populate for Table Tuning. If you solve some new problems, let us know here - screenshots appreciated!

Hi We require root privilege to run the commands and services used by Profiler. Brian

I believe your account is set up as a group admin. To add users, you must be a full administrator. Log in as an admin and add the users, or make your login a full admin (you'll see a green check next to your name in the list). Once you are a full admin, the button appears. Brian

What would you want to do with the API that is not covered in this Feature Request ?

Are you monitoring your entire VMware environment from the Storage Manager server? If so, how many total VM are you monitoring? Typically, we recommend about 200 VM to be monitored per agent, so if you have exceeded that, you could be seeing the issues you are reporting. Brian
-
How many arrays (and types) and how many VM are you monitoring? Are they geographically separated? Brian

Hi Profiler talks to the celerra vis Telnet/SSH, no SNMP involved. If you do the TCP dump, Profiler will mount the share and parse the output from the command that was written to disk. Brian
-
Hi, I don't know of anyone doing this today.

Byron, The VMware monitoring in NPM mainly focuses on the ESX server and VM, but not so much on the infrastructure itself. So both Orion NPM and Profiler will give you asset and performance data on those, but Profiler will also show you Clusters, Data Centers, and Virtual Center views and the relationship between all of…

The basics are covered here - is this for Linux, Windows or ???

The File Type and File Group reports are summary reports only, there is no associated detail. The rules you create define which files we collect detailed data. To make a report like you want, run the either the "File Rules Detail (Remote shares)" or the "File Rules Detail (Local Share)" and filter on the Root Dir and file…

Yes, DPA supports MySQL 5.6 and later since version 10.0. If you have available licenses, you should be able to monitor a MySQL database.

Jeremy, Try the instructions here: https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Database_Performance_Analyzer_(DPA)/DPAIM_Admin_Guide/020_Integrate_DPA_with_Orion_Platform_products/040_Manage_database_instance_relationships If that doesn't work, contact support: Submit a Ticket | SolarWinds Customer Portal Thanks Brian

Hi, STM does not gather the disk quotas on home directories, and you cannot extend it to do so. However, you can use file analysis on each home directory for sizing and then use the reporting engine to look for users over a certain size. Brian
